If I would drive down to either of the two cities I live by. Its Kissimmee,FL and Orlando,FL. This is what their patrol cars look like:

Funny to see someone from Hanover, Germany here. My family left the Hanover area (Landesbergen) around 1840 to come to the US.

The Texas Rangers (Special Investigative Unit of the Texas Department of Public Safety) drive unmarked CVPIs.

There are others not included here such as; Dallas ISD Police, Dallas County Constables, US Border Patrol, Federal Protective Police.

Mine primary civilian force is West Mercia Constabulary, serving County Shropshire near Birmingham, UK.

Living on MOD property, I also have the Ministry of Defence (civilian) Police.

As well as them, the British Army Royal Military Police patrol also.

Finally the Military Provost Guard Service (Army armed security service).

Lothian & Borders Police - Edinburgh, UK

Being the capital city of Scotland and home to the Scottish parliament and government, Lothian & Borders Police is quite a large agency that covers the city of Edinburgh, some other smaller towns and the entire eastern side of the border with England which is quite a large area (just under 1 million people). LBP has about 3,000 officers and 1,000 support staff. As of 2011, they have 580 'operational' marked and unmarked vehicles and a few boats. LBP don't have a helicopter - they will use Strathclyde Police's or lease one if necessary. According to a freedom of information request, they've used Tasers only twice.

I've only ever dealt with them significantly once, under quite stressful and sad circumstances, and they were awesome.

Road Policing Units (RPUs)

Standard officer uniforms:

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

Why does the guy on the right have extra equipment?

He doesn't, he's just not wearing a belt and has the stuff stored in pouches.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

Mine are the new south wales police but I'm also stuck in the middle of new south wales and australian capital territory, so I have the new south wales police and the australian federal police.

POLICJA - Komenda Wojewódzka Policji we Wrocławiu (Regional Police Department in Wroclaw)

(In Poland local agencies looks the same in whole country)

Our Police use mostly VW Passat, Opel Vectra, Alfa Romeo 157 (I see a lot of these new beauties lately), Kia Cee'd and even some Mitsubishi Evo x but I don't know if my local PD use them. They have also Honda CBF and BMW K1300S/GT bikes.

Of course they use also some horrible banged up carpmobiles, like "new" Fiat Panda or old Yamaha XJ (I know it's a good bike, I had one, but it's old) , but to be honest I can't remember when was the last time I saw old or funny police car or bike.

Ok, here are some photos:

Alfa Romeo 157: (R in red circle stands for "Road Police")

Merc Sprinter: (other popular vans are VW Transporter and Fiat Ducato)

Nissan Pathfinder: (also X-Trails, Land Rovers and Mitsu L200, usually used by water police and mounted police.
