Lcpdfr should do what dayz is doing and go standalone

Day z first started as a mod and is going stanaloe, in other words it is becoming an official game, and not a mod.

I think it would be awesome if lcpdfr did the same, i think it has a lot of poetential.

I like that idea, but I see some imminent problems. If LCPDFR were to go become a stand-alone game, that would basically mean that the devs would have to script an entire game just so LCPDFR would function correctly on it. Why remake GTA IV just so LCPDFR can be a stand-alone game? Not trying to be negative, but, I don't see a point.

Do you realize how incredibly complex it is to make a sandbox world like Grand Theft Auto IV? Not only would they need more than the vastly understaffed scripters they have now, they would need various modelers, animators and a host of other jobs I have no clue about. And that is not even considering the extremely small niche policing games have. Let's say that they do make a stand-alone game, at most maybe a 1/2 million would buy it. It would be far smarter and cost effective to keep it as an add-on mod to GTA.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

Considering it took a large and well respected games development company something like 4 years to develop GTA IV with a team of approximately 150 professional game developers, I can't even begin to imagine how many years it would take a team of 3 people to make even just the map for a standalone LCPDFR.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

I know it would be ridiculous for them to try and make it stand-alone, but it would be worth it to get rid of those god damned loading screens at the beginning of GTA IV! Lol

How big is the team for DayZ? Is someone helping fund their game? I love LCPDFR and the replay value it has added to IV, but I'm not a huge fan of the limitations IV has. I'm wondering how much better the AI will act and move and even drive in GTA V. So maybe V will be much better, and maybe it will have it's own shortcomings It would be amazing if this was something that was pitched to Rockstar Games (even if it was just in an interview). I'd love to hear their thoughts on a spinoff/standalone or even expansion/dlc that focused on emergency first responders rather then criminals but utilized GTA V's engine and possibly other elements from the game.

An expansion for GTA focusing on police would be awesome, but I doubt it'd be anything particularly realistic.

Also, the DayZ mod is apparently being spun off with the help of the company that developed the game it's based on.

Ya i know it was a long shot, im just hoping honestly that someone creates a realistic full on police simulator (think of the show cops, i mean that realistic). I love gta 4 and lcpdfr but i think you can only go so far with rage engine. I would like to see a new company could develop a police game with real time random calls, realistic gunfights, drug busts, realistic reactions, hell even go to court or fill out papers lol.

But a thing i would love:

If R* would cooperate with LCPDFR and maybe bring it out as an official AddOn for GTA V. (That would be called LSPDFR of course xD)

I know that i would buy it :D But then again i don't know if that is really profitable for R* Games xD I mean 50.000 sales might not be enough for R* so i don't think that will ever happen. BUT it would be cool xD

I believe DayZ has a direct connection to the ARMA studio, and has been getting official support for a while. I don't really think it's viable for LCPD:FR.

LCPDFR for V would be epic.

I say this because of the incredible countryside we've seen in the screenshots provided and the trailer. Time for some Super Troopers me thinks!

But of course, we'll need to wait and see if its even possible to get it working on V.
