BLK Highway Callouts 1.21.7

(20 reviews)

8 Screenshots

Welcome to the only highway focused callout pack (that is still slowly maintained) in LSPDFR!

This callout pack doesn't include shootings, robberies, muggins, kidnappings, stabbings, bank robberies, juggernatus or all the typical callouts you can find all over the script section of this website.

I'm more focused into creating callouts that are not too common or that can be approached from a different perspective. Why would I make you chase a vehicle around all of LS when I can make you surprise the criminals by deploying a spike strip and then, join the pursuit?

Remember officers don't have to deal with high speed pursuits or robberies everyday, there is also a side that is not that exciting but that officers have to do anyway. If you want to experience a different side to an officers work on the highways of LS, then give this callout pack a try.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE ON CALLOUT MANAGER ⚠️

If you are using Callout Manager or any other plugin that starts callouts on demand, be aware that these callouts are meant to be played as a trooper or an officer patroling close to a highway, so if you are in the middle of the map like in Great Chaparral, Harmony or in Vinewood Hills, the callouts will fail to start.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • LSPDFR 0.4.9 (not included)
  • RagePluginHook (not included)
  • RageNativeUI (not included)
  • CalloutInterface (optional)

⚠️ STP and UB no longer required! ⚠️

HOW TO INSTALL:

  • Drag and drop the "lspdfr" folder into your main game folder.
  • Drag and drop the "plugins" folder into your main game folder.
  • Drag and drop the CalloutInterfaceAPI file to your main game folder.
  • Customize as desired in the ini file.

PLUGIN RECOMMENDATION

SceneManager by Rich

This plugin will help you manage traffic and you will surely need it for these callouts. If you don't have any plugin that can do something similar, you'll have a hard time playing this pack. I don't make it a requirement because is no longer maintained, but it still works!

Make sure to use the latest RageNativeUI version, do not use the version included in the plugin.

AVAILABLE CALLOUTS

  • NEW!  Disturbance in rest area (only available at the rest area east of LS) : Investigate a couple that has been arguing in their vehicle for a long time.

  • NEW!  Prowler in rest area (only available at the rest area east of LS) : The store clerk has called reporting a possible prowler in the rest area. Search for the suspect and make sure the zone is safe. Multiple outcomes possible.

  • NEW!  Stranded Vehicle: There's a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the highway; make sure the driver is safe.

  • MVA Traffic Control:
    • You are not the only officer on patrol. Some officers are cleaning a MVA scene but are having a hard time handling traffic. Hurry up and manage traffic to prevent more accidents.

  • Assistance to Road Worker:
    • The city had to cut resources and the road workers don't have all the security equipment they should. Luckily for them, you have them covered. Protect the workers from the heavy traffic and help maintain the roads of LS in good shape.

  • Animal on road:
    • Some drivers have reported an animal in/close to the highway. Get there and make sure it's not a safety concern for the drivers and the animal.

  • Motor Vehicle Accident:
    • Car accidents are a big part of an officers work and can't be missing in a callout pack like this.

  • Object on road:
    • Drivers are reporting objects on the road, potentially causing an accident. Arrive to the scene and clear the way.

  • Asistance to stranded driver:
    • You got a call for a vehicle stranded on the highway. Investigate and assist the driver.

  • Spike Strip Support:
    • There is a pursuit approaching your position. Hurry up and get ready to deploy a spike strip and catch the criminals.

KNOWN ISSUES 🙁 :

  • Peds/animations are not playing correctly at times.
  • Animals caught by animal control look weird at the back of the truck.

HOW TO ADD CUSTOM VEHICLES FOR HIGHWAYS

Spoiler

****DISCLAIMER****
I'm not responsible for any errors in your game/configuration if you decide to follow this tutorial. Always make a copy of any file you edit.
If you don't feel comfortable editing XML files, just DON'T do it and stick to your default configuration.

I'm not an expert when it comes to modifying these files. What you find here is the result of my own curiosity and experience.

As of version 1.15.9, my callouts use LSPDFR's built-in functions to spawn emergency vehicles/peds instead of creating them manually from my XML file.
For that reason, I recommend using LSPDFR's config files to add your custom vehicles/peds the same way you can do it in the XML file I provide. Here's a quick and extremely basic tutorial:

1. In your GTA V main folder, go to "lspdfr/data/".
2. Open "agency.xml". Make a copy before editing.
3. Look for "<Name>San Andreas Highway Patrol</Name>"

4. Once you find the highway agency, edit it to your liking with the vehicles and ped models you want for highways. You are mostly interested in the "<Vehicles>" and "<Peds>" sections.

5. Save when you are satisfied with the configuration.

*Only for EUP users*
1. Go to "lspdfr/data/custom/".
2. Open "agency_eup.xml". Make a copy before doing any changes.
3. Find "<Name>San Andreas Highway Patrol</Name>"
4. Edit to your liking just like in the file in step 4 from the previous section.

5. Save when you are satisfied with the configuration.
6. Open"agency_eupfr.xml". Make a copy before editing.
7. Repeat steps 3 and 4.

8. Save when ready.

Updated callout list

What's New in Version 1.21.7

Released

1.21.7 - If you are updating, replace the ini file and the audio folder.

Hello everyone! A new update has dropped with 3 new callouts and I really hope you enjoy them as much as I do. 😄

For this update I wanted to create some callouts that would focus on an area of the map that's not used very often and in this case I chose the biggest rest area in LS; this is one of my fav spots in the map and I feel it has so much potential. I would love to continue making callouts like these so please let me know your thougths in the comments.😄

NEW CALLOUTS :

  • Stranded vehicle: Similar to the "assistance to driver", in this scenario you need to investigate the vehicle and check on the driver. Thank you 249Xeno for the idea.

  • Suspicious individual - ONLY AVAILABLE AT THE REST AREA EAST OF LS! : A suspected prowler is in the rest area. You are tasked with investigating and finding the suspect. You can talk with a few civilians that spawn all around the area and the store clerk that made the call. Make sure you search carefully every corner of the area or you might miss the suspect.

  • Disturbance in rest areaONLY AVAILABLE AT THE REST AREA EAST OF LS! : A couple has been arguing inside their vehicle; make sure no one is at risk.

UPDATED CALLOUTS:

MVA Traffic Control:

  • Added a tow truck to the scene.

Motor Vehicle Accident:

  • Added good samaritans that "tried" to help the victims. They have some dialog lines but no real impact on the callout.

Object On Road:

  • Now up to 4 objects can spawn.

Animal On Road:

  • Slightly decreased the chance to be ignored by the animal when luring it.

Road Maintenance:

  • The worker no longer switches animations, reducing the chance for him to stay still doing nothing when switching between them.

Road Maintenance 2:

  • The workers now follow the nav mesh instead of walking straight to their positions.

GENERAL CHANGES:

  • Removed remaining error message for the missing XML file; the file was no longer required.
  • Code improvements.

🏅 Special thanks to 249Xeno who's been encouraging me to continue working on these callouts; without him this update would've probably taken longer to be released or not happened at all. 💯

If you find any bugs or have any suggestions, feel free to contact me via PM.

Are you able to add a callout that's basically someone hit a bike and the person is on the road, injured, probably dead? Also, i did not see you in the discord

Love that you choose a specific theme to base your callout pack on. We need more of that in this community!

Great callout plots too which I hope to see more of in the near future! 😁

Love these callouts especially for Highway Patrol, i really like the traffic control callouts but I've been having issues. I'm not getting the callouts naturally anymore and when I use a callout manager the scene spawns but then I get the "disregard" notification. Also, sometimes even with the disregard notification the red marker still shows on the map and the cars from the callout will still be there but no emergency vehicles and they dont get removed like the callout should.  MVA and other callouts seem to work. Haven't gotten the one where the worker needs traffic control but that one works when forced. I often use this as the only callout pack when i'm doing a traffic specific game and still can't get the traffic control callout naturally. Other than that, like I said, awesome pack.

Which callout is the one that gives you the disregard notification and the red marker still on the map?

The traffic control for MVA, the one where police are on scene and you just take care of the traffic. When I use the callout manager it shows "traffic control" and "traffic control2" and both are doing it.

I find it unfair that to test your plugin you need to have STP, I would like to test your callouts but i don' t use STP, could you pls make an option to disable the STP installation check and make the plugin also usable without STP?

These callouts are great! Im really sick of getting callout packs that have nothing but pursuits or armed gunman or anything that officers don't see everyday. Please make more like this that the community can use in the city and county! Great work man

The callouts have been working good so far, nothing too crazy.

Edit: As of now, 06/2022, SceneManager is working prefectly fine though not being updated. Be advised to not use the provided RageNativeUI in the SceneManger download since that is outdated and will cause problems then.

I'll remove it once I add my own tow truck functionality, but I don't see it implemented in the near future. STP is quite popular and useful, so I didn't think it would be much of an issue to add it as a requirement.

Are you using something else as a replacement for STP and UB?

Hey man, I tested these callouts several times and that never occured to me. My only guess is that my xml file is the problem.  Could you check if the new version has the same issue?

I use Enhanced Stops and UB , but  i don't use STP cause i find it ruining LSPDFR functionalities, but if u will release an update with your tow truck i'll be glad to write a 5 star feedback to your plugin, i find  awesome your callouts. U could make an option (a bool config)  to enable or disable tow truck service in the ini file.

Really liking these callouts, I would recommend adding a custom agency file though, this would allow the cusomising of the highways, fire and ambulance crews that spawn to be made a lot easier.

I've managed to do the highways and fire but am struggling with the ambulance, does it read from the Los Santos Fire Department (EMS) agency inside agency.xml?

That's what I intended to do at first, but then I found out I could use lspdfr config files instead...

I haven't changed fire and ambulance for highways, but I'd guess you are right. There is an <Ambulance> section in backup.xml, probably that's what you are missing.

If you get it to work, it'd be great if you could share your config 😬

Are you on Discord? I would love to ask you some questions about how you've coded using the lspdfr config as that may explain what's spawning from where, it seems to be using the lspdfr agency config for the fire and highway patrol but not for the ambulance, and the backup.xml doesn't seem to have any effect 😄

Thanks

Love these callouts no doubt, thanks for putting an incredible callout pack together and for your time, I'm unsure of how in control of this but every time in like the motor vehicle accidents or whenever a firetruck is called it comes barreling in every time🤣 like not the usual for when you call for Ultimate Backup where it kind of moseys on in and takes its time and finds a decent place to park but every time in the callouts it takes out cars, even the roadside officers and parks in the dumbest spot ever lolol.

Totally understand if you have zero control over it but unsure if anyone else experiences this! Thanks for some great work on this!

Pedestrians are generally prohibited to walk or get on to any highways in any states in the United States. From a realistic standpoint, how is it possible that a pedestrian or pedestrians can be hit by a vehicle on a highway

The callout is mostly based on some incidents that have happened in the city where I live (not the US). Unfortunately some highways have sections that are not well protected and are either close to houses or in zones where people need to cross from one side to the other. Despite having special zones for people to safely cross the highway, they are often ignored and that's when accidents occur, specially at night. So, from a third world country standpoint, it's possible for a pedestrian to be hit by a vehicle on a highway.

LS has a few locations where it's possible for a pedestrian to get on the highway, so I only added those locations (E.g. Chumash, Baham Canyon, the Paleto Bay area, the area where Dr. Friedlander lives, a homeless camp next the highway in Little Seul).

First I would like to give you credit on a very stable callout pack.  I can tell that you put a lot of work into this and your hard work does not go unnoticed.

In regards to the **WIP** Spike Strip Support -  First The call is stable and working great with zero crashes on my end.  The only thing that I think needs to be adjusted is the fact that you are pressing Y and laying the spike strips early, several AI are driving over the spike strips (although it is not causing their tires to be blown, it does look rather odd for AI to drive over them, but suspects tires blow out)

There is one suggestion that I would love see if you can implement with this Spike Strip Support callout and I think it would be possible.  Maybe have the player drive to a designated area which would trigger the pursuit that would be coming up from behind the player or maybe press Y key just to let dispatch know that you are ready.  Then a short pause in menu prompt again to let the player know that they can laydown spike strips when they see the vehicle approaching. The spawn distance seems pretty good to allow you to prepare for spike strips, when they get closer you can deploy the strips.  It's all about timing for the officer to deploy and avoid hurting other vehicles (RP of course).  But hey if you miss your opportunity, the chase still goes on and you can hop in your vehicle for pursuit.  Seen this happen many times...okay okay... it was on TV 😆

Would love to see this implemented if possible when you have time.

I loved your suggestion!  I had been thinking about what to do with those AI cars that remained in the area😅. I thought about stopping all cars, but that would create a mess, then I thought about redirecting traffic but that sounded like a lot of effort and I didn't even know where to start and if it was possible (lspdfr does it but I have no idea how and it's not always accurate).  I know what I'll do now and I can't wait to show you guys the result 😄

Love these callouts, it makes patrolling on highways much more enjoyable.

I have a suggestion, rather an idea for a callout. Trooper spotted a wanted vehicle on the highway. lil story time ( tropper spotted a vehicle that has been involved in a crime or an incident. Multiple scenarios could be implemented, trooper could run the vehicles plate and know that the plate matches the wanted vehicle from database. He could try to initiate a traffic stop, player could simply assist with the TS and the rest could be as a normal TS.) Another scenario could be that the vehicle was involved in serious crime and the trooper would be concerned that the individual or multiple people inside are dangerous so he could call for a backup in a form that he would be following the vehicle untill the player gets near and probably initiate a felony stop, or it may escalate into pursuit. The basic idea is to make the callouts with more people involved form the start.

For example some pursuit calls from other callouts make a big blip on the map and its like "WE HAVE A PURSUIT IN PROGRESS" u drive to the blip and you are kinda alone. I mean there are no units already chasing the suspect and no real "backstory" to it.

Nice idea. I do want to have more cops involved for some callouts because sometimes it feels like you are the only cop in LS.  I'm working on a lil something for the spike strip support callout.

I love the callouts, but I with the latest updates I don't know if its the callout pack or GTA V but the timers I set in the ini keeps reverting back to the default times.

I'll look into it. What values are you using? There is a min/max limit for each timer, if you go above or below, the default values will be used.
