BLK Highway Callouts 1.19.40

BLK Highway Callouts adds refreshing callouts to the highways/freeways of Los Santos..
   (16 reviews)

8 Screenshots

Welcome to the only highway focused callout pack (that is still maintained) in LSPDFR!

This callout pack doesn't include shootings, robberies, muggins, kidnappings, stabbings, bank robberies, juggernatus or all the typical callouts you can find all over the script section of this website.

I'm more focused into creating callouts that are not too common or that can be approached from a different perspective. Why would I make you chase a vehicle around all of LS when I can make you surprise the criminals by deploying a spike strip and then, join the pursuit?

Remember officers don't have to deal with high speed pursuits or robberies everyday, there is also a side that is not that exciting but that officers have to do anyway. If you want to experience a different side to an officers work in the highways of LS, then give this callout pack a try.

IMPORTANT NOTE

If you are using Callout Manager or any other plugin that starts callouts on demand, be aware that these callouts are meant to be played as a trooper or an officer patroling close to a highway, so if you are in the middle of the map like in Great Chaparral, Harmony or in Vinewood Hills, the callouts will fail to start.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • LSPDFR 0.4.9 (not included)
  • RagePluginHook (not included)
  • RageNativeUI (not included)

HOW TO INSTALL:

  • Drag and drop the "lspdfr" folder into your main folder game.
  • Drag and drop the "plugins" folder into your main folder game.
  • Customize as desired in the ini file and xml files.

PLUGIN RECOMMENDATION

SceneManager by Rich

This plugin will help you manage traffic and you will surely need it for these callouts. If you don't have any plugin that can do something similar, you'll have a hard time playing this pack. I don't make it a requirement because is no longer maintained, but it still works!

Make sure to use the latest RageNativeUI version, do not use the version included in the plugin.

AVAILABLE CALLOUTS

  • MVA Traffic Control:
    • You are not the only officer on patrol. Some officers are cleaning a MVA scene but are having a hard time handling traffic. Hurry up and manage traffic to prevent more accidents.

  • Assistance to Road Worker:
    • The city had to cut resources and the road workers don't have all the security equipment they should. Luckily for them, you have them covered. Protect the workers from the heavy traffic and help maintain the roads of LS in good shape.

  • Animal on road:
    • Some drivers have reported an animal in/close to the highway. Get there and make sure it's not a safety concern for the drivers and the animal.

  • Motor Vehicle Accident:
    • Car accidents are a big part of an officers work and can't be missing in a callout pack like this.

  • Pedestrian Struck by a Vehicle:
    • You received a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle. Secure the scene and make sure everyone is safe.

  • Object on road:
    • Drivers are reporting objects on the road, potentially causing an accident. Arrive to the scene and clear the way.

  • Stranded Vehicle:
    • You got a call for a vehicle stranded on the highway. Investigate and assist the driver.

  • Spike Strip Support:
    • There is a pursuit approaching your position. Hurry up and get ready to deploy a spike strip and catch the criminals.

KNOWN ISSUES 🙁 :

  • Peds/animations are not playing correctly at times.
  • Conversations sometimes are available for peds being revived by STP.
  • The function to store object in the trunk doesn't work (temporarily disabled)

THINGS I'M WORKING ON 😃 :

  • Bug fixes.
  • Callout tweaks!
  • New callout!

HOW TO ADD CUSTOM VEHICLES FOR HIGHWAYS

Spoiler

****DISCLAIMER****
I'm not responsible for any errors in your game/configuration if you decide to follow this tutorial. Always make a copy of any file you edit.
If you don't feel comfortable editing XML files, just DON'T do it and stick to your default configuration.

I'm not an expert when it comes to modifying these files. What you find here is the result of my own curiosity and experience.

As of version 1.15.9, my callouts use LSPDFR's built-in functions to spawn emergency vehicles/peds instead of creating them manually from my XML file.
For that reason, I recommend using LSPDFR's config files to add your custom vehicles/peds the same way you can do it in the XML file I provide. Here's a quick and extremely basic tutorial:

1. In your GTA V main folder, go to "lspdfr/data/".
2. Open "agency.xml". Make a copy before editing.
3. Look for "<Name>San Andreas Highway Patrol</Name>"

4. Once you find the highway agency, edit it to your liking with the vehicles and ped models you want for highways. You are mostly interested in the "<Vehicles>" and "<Peds>" sections.

5. Save when you are satisfied with the configuration.

*Only for EUP users*
1. Go to "lspdfr/data/custom/".
2. Open "agency_eup.xml". Make a copy before doing any changes.
3. Find "<Name>San Andreas Highway Patrol</Name>"
4. Edit to your liking just like in the file in step 4 from the previous section.

5. Save when you are satisfied with the configuration.
6. Open"agency_eupfr.xml". Make a copy before editing.
7. Repeat steps 3 and 4.

8. Save when ready.

What's New in Version 1.19.40

Released

1.19.40 (Latest)

*If you are updating, replace the dll, ini file and audio carpet.*

UPDATED CALLOUTS:

Spike Strip Support

  • Suspect's vehicle is now random instead of a fixed model vehicle.
  • Stability improvents

Traffic Break:

  • Slight change to audios played during traffic halts.

Ran Over Ped:

  • Added damage packs.

Motor Vehicle Accident:

  • Added damage packs to all victims.

Object on Road:

  • Temp removed feature to store objetcs in the vehicle. Sorry, I didn't have time to fix it.

NEW FUNCTIONALITY:

  • Added options in the ini file to disable callouts

FIXES & MISC:

  • Added new dialog lines.
  • Added support for the latest LSPDFR, RPH and RageNativeUI versions.

I know this is a small, irrelevant update but last year was a very busy year for me, which is a good thing since I've been mostly being busy with work but sadly has also reduced the time I had for my hobbies and side projects, like this one. I'll try to make a bit more room this year for this callout pack so I can add a couple more callouts and work on some tweaks to make things feel fresh again.

Anyway, thank you to everyone who has played my callouts and for those who enjoy them like I do. You rock ❤️!

Happy New Year! 🙂

1.19.32 (Previous)

*If you are updating, replace the dll, ini file and audio carpet.*

UPDATED CALLOUTS:

Stranded Vehicle:

  • Added dialog option to offer a taxi to the driver.

MVA Traffic Control:

  • Fixed bug that caused the ambulance to stay after ending the callout.
  • Fixed bug that made the firefighters stay in the vehicle.
  • Tweaked firetruck behavior when approaching the scene. It should reduce the chance of the firetruck smashing into other vehicles.

Object on Road:

  • Removed the object model "v_ilev_depo_box01". This object remained floating after being picked picked up and dropped by the player.

Spike Strip Support (Work in Progress) :

  • Bug fixes.
  • Playability changes.
  • Note: This callout is still a work in progress and is disabled by default. If you want to play it, enable it using the ini file.
  • Thx @OfficerBenzo for all the suggestions. I had a clearer mind this weekend and made a couple of changes that made it to this update. Try it out and let me know what you think!  😀

Motor Vehicle Accident:

  • Added an additional unit responding to the callout. This unit has no practical function, it's just for the looks (well, I thougth it'd look cool) 😁
    • Edit the ini file if you don't like this feature.

NEW FUNCTIONALITY:

  • Added option in the ini file to enable additional law enforcement units to arrive to a callout scene. Only available for selected callouts: Motor Vehicle Accident and Spike Strip Support.

FIXES & MISC:

Fixed the traffic control timer always taking the default value. Thx @tee for reporting this bug.

Added support for the latest LSPDFR, RPH and RageNativeUI versions.

I really enjoy this pack, but I don't know if its a bug or not when responding to the hwy traffic backup call, the officer in the scenario is a regular pedestrian model instead of a cop model. Maybe in a future update we can customize the officer like vehicles.

    Hi!

When I try to accept the callout it ends it?

Also crashes when I get there.

Please send me your log file so I can see why is crashing.

Yes, I'll add the option to customize the officers as well.

Enjoying the pack - left a review.

Just had some minor issues.  For some reason when I respond with Grammar Police "responding code 3" for example, it doesn't accept the call.  Could be on my end though.

Roadwork traffic assist - Accepted the call and I had to end it as it was in a bad area for video editing etc.  However, when I ended the call, the yellow circle did not get taken away from my map.  Happened twice in a row.   Oh and the Roadwork Traffic Control assist, it might be better if we can get closer to the worker before he starts talking.  I found that he had already said a full sentence before I had my door closed. Just a thought.  I do like the prompt feature to get him to start working, but perhaps one more prompt when  you get to him first.  Does that make sense?

Received a call for Traffic Break, started towards the yellow circle and game crashed.  Not sure if it was related.  Worked with the callouts yesterday and it did not do this, so it may just be a fluke.

Great pack and perfect for me as I generally prefer playing as state police. Only thing I've noticed so far was the ped uniform issue. I was able to specify my state police vehicle in the config file (and it correctly was used at the callout scene) but the peds were wearing park service uniforms. It's also great to see callouts that specifically warrant using traffic manager. Thanks again!

Instead of having to customize settings for officer models, police car models, fire truck models, etc. you can use the RequestBackup API. One of the options for the RequestBackup function lets you specify an exact number of occupants in the backup vehicle and lets you spawn it with no tasks (i.e. won't drive anywhere unless you give the driver a task) and at a specific location. You can use this to e.g. spawn in a fire truck with 4 occupants, and it'll use whatever the user's already configured in their backup.xml to spawn the right fire truck model for that area, with the right peds and whatever uniforms they're configured for. I would suggest doing this for any AI emergency vehicles you spawn (fire trucks, ambulances, police cars) as it lets the player control all of the settings without you having to do any extra work to implement it.

Love this pack.  I've been using it for a couple of months now, and it's definitely a breath of fresh air when patrolling as a trooper.  Just curious, though. Is the pack still moving out of the alpha stage?  It would be a shame if not, because it's an awesome callout pack with much needed callouts.  Very much appreciated.

Yes, it will. I've been really busy for the last 2 months during the weekends, which is when I usually have time to work on this. An update is coming out this weekend with 2 callouts reworked and bug fixes 😁

No, I don't have a discord, but I'm in LSPDFR discord with the same username.

    1. I can rework the animal on the highway to include a dead animal

    2. I thought about something like this for one callout, but I'm trying to avoid pursuits / shootings for this pack... but I'll think about it. Suggestions are more than welcomed!

Whatever you did with the last update fixed it, callouts are working now. Love this callout pack, great for some CHP patrols
