Siren Mastery

SUPPORT IS NO LONGER OFFERED - FEEL FREE TO HELP UPDATE THE CODE

Siren Mastery is now open source. https://github.com/Albo1125/SirenMastery

Siren Mastery is a script modification that allows you to master your siren tones. Toggle to your secondary siren at the press of a key/button, silence your siren using any key/button you like and even control exactly which 'secondary' siren plays! You can be up and running with Siren Mastery within 5 minutes (installation tutorial click HERE).

Requirements - some of these are included (credits go to their appropriate authors):

  • Albo1125.Common 6.6.4.0 or higher (included)
  • RAGEPluginHook 0.51 or higher (not included)
  • NAudio 1.8.0.0 (included)
  • A legal copy of GTA V (version 1.0.1011.1 or above).

There is also a download to free up unneeded controller bindings so they can be used for Siren Mastery. Get it here.

You can find some new, customised UIs for Siren Mastery in the spoiler below:

Summary of current features (please check documentation carefully too):

  • Change the Siren Toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
  • Change the 'lights only' toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
    • This works even if your siren is off so you can control whether your siren should play before turning your lights on.
  • New 'Toggle Secondary Siren' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to switch to secondary sirens without having to hold down a key/button.
  • New 'Toggle Bullhorn' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to keep sounding your bullhorn without having to hold down a key/button.
    • Works simultaneously with sirens.
  • New 'Next Siren' key/button that cycles to the next siren.
    • Can optionally include the Off state as a cycle stage.
  • Your siren now stays on when you leave your vehicle and you don't mute it.
    • This can be disabled from the GeneralConfig file.
  • Determine the siren tone that should be playing.
    • You are able to select which siren tone to play, including the ability to differentiate between secondary sirens.
  • Additional Siren Modes
    • Dual Siren Mode.
    • Manual Siren Mode.
  • Additional customisable sirens per vehicle model.
    • Allows you to have up to TEN total sirens per vehicle model.
  • Fully Functional and Customisable UI.
    • Feel free to create and release your own custom UI files.
    • The size and position of the UI can be customised via the UIConfig file.
  • Customisable Siren Switching Tones (like Siren Switch Honker).
  • Sirens are fully customisable per vehicle model via an XML file.
  • All keybindings are customisable and fully customisable controller support is included.
  • The vehicles.awc size and length limits are effectively removed while using Siren Mastery, allowing for greater siren variety.
  • British Users: You can now have British Siren Switch/Toggle sounds (in other words, horns!). Simply replace the relevant files in the Plugins/SirenMastery folder with the ones included in Siren Switch Honker's download.

Support is no longer offered - what to do if you encounter a bug or have problems:

  1. Watch the installation video for my modifications here.
  2. Use this tool: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9755-lspdfr-troubleshooter-by-albo1125/
  3. Read the documentation file if you're having trouble getting a specific feature to work.
  4. Suggestions can be made here.
  5. If all else fails: Please leave a comment (not a review). Include your RAGEPluginHook.log file, located in your Grand Theft Auto V folder. Also, please provide an accurate description of what happened.

Please do not reupload or redistribute this without my permission, rather link back to this original page. Thank you.

Splendid mod, starting to get the hang of it now. I would prefer if after pressing any of the number keys a second time, only that siren (and any dual tones) would turn off while keeping the lights on, rather than hitting a separate button to turn just the sirens off. Or is this already a feature/planned feature and I've just overlooked it?

"Pressing the 'force siren' button while that siren is active will now switch off your sirens" - this is refferring to 1-8 keys, correct? You should be able to press whatever siren tone you just enabled and it will turn off the siren, correct? Because it's not working for me :/

Also, it'd be (mc)awesome to have a setting in the .ini to be able to have your siren stay on after you exit the vehicle. This will kind of add to the immersion, similar to real life, how you have to remember to turn it off.

Anyways, phenomenal job! You never fail to impress. I honestly thought your mods couldn't get any better - boy was I wrong! I think each one gets even better than the previous.

Hi @Albo1125 i am having this same issue. Any Ideas? Many thanks

Hey, Dewar. I figured it out. Check your vehicles folder in your Siren Mastery folder. If you added custom sirens and the file size is over 15.5Mb, it will mute all sirens in the dictionary. Albo told us that, I obviously didn't listen lol. Just redo the step where you have to extract the vehicles.awc to .WAV, then copy your vehicles folder over with the new one. Best of luck!

Hi Jon

Thanks for letting me know. Only modded the GTA Sirens and didn't add anymore but will look into that.

Many thanks

Ian

Hey, that first thing should definitely work - are you sure you replaced the files with the latest versions?

Sirens when leaving vehicles are planned :)

Hey, this should already be the case! If you hit the currently active siren key it'll shut off your sirens.

How do you make the controller on screen smaller?

Albo!! I would love you even more (if you could believe it :whistling:) if you could add an option to automatically switch on Siren 1 after leaving the vehicle (as long as any Primary, Secondary, or ForcedOnly siren is already active at the time of exiting the vehicle, so it doesn't turn on no matter what, of course).

But PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't make it enable Primary siren upon exit. Instead make it activate whatever is set to Siren 1, because one of my Secondaries is set as my Primary so I can toggle between that and another Secondary without the Primary/Siren 1 in the way while using the ToggleSecondarySiren= settings keybind (as you know that keybind goes primary, secondary, primary, secondary), then I set Siren 1 (or what should be Primary) as ForcedOnly and assigned it to a lone key (if that makes sense). That way one key toggles my two Secondaries (Siren 3 & 6), one key toggles my Primary (or Siren 1) on/off, one key toggles Manual siren (which is set as Siren 2), one key activates the Horn on press, and one turns the siren sound on/off. However you can work out the .ini, I would love to simply see a command line that read something like this:

"Change Siren number here that you wish to loop upon exiting a vehicle (a siren must be active upon exiting to enable this feature)

Choices are 1 - 10

Default Setting: 1

Siren Loop Upon Vehicle Exit: 1"

Thank you so much for your work, brother; and expect a Paypal transaction from me soon!

Holy shit that was confusing, hopefully he has some sort of clue what you're going on about. I'm hoping whatever tone is playing when you exit is the tone that stays on, as it would in real life.

EDIT:

Scratch my idea/rambling. Looking at this as an LEO, obviously my squad car will/should keep playing whatever siren I was using when I jumped out of the car. Obviously it won't know to change sirens when I open the door...Either way, like your idea and can't wait to see it happen!

Hey, @Albo1125! I've recently installed Siren Mastery. Everithing works great, except one thing - the " SirenMastery_ReloadUI" console command. Seems like RPH does not recognize it at all. Even when i type "help" in my console it shows "?????????????" by the plugin name. I'm running RAGE Plugin Hook v0.45. Any idea why it doesn't work?

1.3.1.0 (28-08-2016)

  • Fixed a crash when switching to certain vehicles without siren support.
  • Hopefully fixed the cause of various audio playback issues some people were experiencing.
  • Supports more wav file types.
  • Fixed an issue caused by localisation settings when reading volume levels for separate sirens.
  • Added default siren setups for the police bike.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the console command to reload the UI not to work for some people.
  • Added a new download that contains information on uploading custom sirens or UIs for Siren Mastery.
  • Fixed various minor wording issues, improved performance slightly and fixed various small errors.

Hey Albo! I installed the new version today and quite unexpectedly am getting a game crash as soon as I spawn a vehicle.(that is listed in the XML) Not when LSPDFR and the plugins load. I have triple checked the folder names to make sure everything is updated. I don't see how it shouldn't have worked before but thought I would do the folders for better organization. When I delete the xml, it works fine. I must be blind cause even with the XML Notepad++ syntax colors, I cannot find an issue.

Below is crash log and .xml

Your most recent update has solved my audio issue for the sirens. Thank you very much! SirenMastery is now in full use on my end.

The " SirenMastery_ReloadUI" command works now, but it only reloads the .ini files. All the images remain the same, even though they are replaced in the "UI" folder.

I'm getting the same exact crash, so at least you're not alone. ;)

Mine occurs the moment I enter the vehicle though.

Hallelujah! That's amazing news. I thought I was going nuts not being able to find an issue.

I will run a few further tests but it looks like some kind of weird runtime error that's machine-related.

In the meantime, please provide me with your full log. Try using multiple different vehicles and let me know for which vehicles the crash seems to occur.

Regs.

Albo, you weren't able to implement the Airhorn Feature I suggested earlier into V1.3.1.0?

@Albo1125 is there a way to resize the whatcya-ma-callit that shows all the siren tones? It's a bit big..
