  1. The files you need for any car mod, aside from the import/export tool like openIV or SparkIV, should be included with the download itself.
  2. Black lines sticking out of it are usually caused by incompatible handling lines. If the file you downloaded came with a readme file, it might have new handling data in there. You just have to use that data to replace the original handling line inside the file gtaivcommondatahandling.dat If the download didn't come with handling data, try using the handling data found in this thread: for the type of vehicle that you downloaded.
  3. That could just mean that the model is locked. You could try re-downloading the vehicle if you wanted to though. Make sure you read and follow any instructions that come with it. You could also try using openIV instead of sparkIV, or make sure you run sparkIV as administrator.
  4. So you imported those two into the vehicles.img? And the game crashes/freezes whenever that vehicle spawns?
  5. If it's a livery enabled car make sure you have +livery added to the vehicle line in the vehicles.ide file so that all four paintjobs show up ingame. About your crashing I'm not sure but it shouldn't be related to the textures. By 'import the 2 files the other person made' what do you mean? As in the .wtd and .wft files?
  6. Okay so; Vehicles come with two files, the .wft (the model object) and the .wtd (a file of all the textures it uses aside from the default vehicle textures). If it's a custom police car it's likely that its main paintjob (called a livery) is contained in the .wtd file. This is what you want to edit if you want it to look different ingame. First of all import the vehicle into your game to replace another car if it isn't there already using sparkIV or openIV. Then use either of those tools to open the .wtd file for the car you want to edit. On the left hand side of the window there will be a list of images. These images are all the textures that the car uses. If the car has a paintjob (like police markings) it should be in there too. Look through that list of textures until you find the one you want to edit. If the car has multiple liveries, meaning that it can spawn with 4 different paintjobs then they might be called police_sign_1, police_sign_2 etc. Once you have found the texture you want to edit, save it or extract it to somewhere on your pc. You now have a .png file for the vehicle's paintjob. Open that a graphics program like paint, paint.net, GIMP, photoshop, pixlr etc. and you can begin to edit it. Once you are done, save it as a .png and use sparkIV or OpenIV to replace the original texture that you exported from the vehicle's .wtd with the new one you just created. There should be videos on this on youtube if you are having trouble. If you are not editing the paintjob and you are just using someone else's paintjob that they have distributed, then you only need to follow the last two steps.
  7. Video showing how two of the vehicles are with their traffic advisor bars. I was experimenting with an LED board but it isn't progressing too well. I'll probably have the Vapid up later this week.
  8. Are you talking about UV-mapping a vehicle model or just editing/replacing the paintjob/texture of a car that you have?
  9. One thing I just noticed is that when I aim in and i'm pointing over the spotlight it dissapears. It happened when I was on a suicidal person call. I pointed the spotlight at the subject then when i got out of the car and aimed at them to initiate the 'negotiation' the light disappeared. Is it possible for this to be fixed?
  10. The peds.ide you edited does have controls for voice so it's possible you messed up something there.
  11. Getting harassed? Can't you mute people?
  12. You should be able to do that by editing these lines in the ELS.ini under the vehicle you want to change Color_Light1L = 0 Color_Light2L = 0 Color_Light3R = 0 Color_Light4R = 0 Color_Light7L = 0 Color_Light8C = 0 Color_Light9R = 0 Offst_SLights = 3 The colour red is coded as data value 0.
  13. It works well, good job. Feels great to do all this without ELS.
  14. You could also try lowering your graphics settings ingame and freeing up some video memory. I think trafficload might be less prone to the disappearing textures but I'm not 100% sure. I've only used trafficflow and I've never had this problem. You could try bringing trafficflow back in and increasing the timer interval in trafficflow.ini (TimerInterval = 30000 perhaps) Also, what car mods do you have installed?
  15. An i7, 8gb of ram and 2gb of video memory? And you're not sure if you can run a game that's 4 years old? Recommended specs for the game are 2.4ghz quad core processor, 2gb RAM and 512MB vram. The LCPDFR mod will not add a significant load onto those specs. Maybe if you intend on running lots of car mods and graphics mods the game will require more resources but that system should be more than enough. People blow far too much money on hardware these days that is never used to its full potential.
  16. Ensure: You are running the game as administrator The files in your gta directory are not read-only, particularly those files inside the grand theft auto ivcommondata folder.
  17. Just fyi there's a newer version of icenhancer to support the latest version of gta iv and EFLC (and by extension, the steam versions) that is being uploaded as we speak. " 2.1 is done. 1070 patch works fine, like 1.25 did before. Config tool is ready, has default & save button (thanks to Naboo); added some new color corrections for people (90% of them aren't used for 2.1, but are inside & easy to enable with the config tool to set your own image quickly) I'm just checking if the interiors are okay again, then video + release at same time. Hosted on mediafire + people's FTPs (thank you guys); Link will be available on my website first, then maybe later on GTA4-Mods (depends of the troll level there)"
  18. Very cool man, looking forward to it.
  19. The taxi bug is caused by having too many modified cars taking up the game's vehicle memory. You could try some of the other traffic mods if trafficflow didn't work for you such as Traffic Control System,TrafficLoad or Sam's TrafficFlow (which I think you already had but I thought that one was the least likely to give your disappearing texture/object bug).
  20. Try reinstalling (the mod) and making sure you run the installer as administrator and make sure the option to install the taser is clicked. Also before you do that make sure you disable read-only protection on the files and folders inside your game directory (if you turn off read only on the folder, then you re-open the properties box and the read-only option is still filled it don't worry, as long as the individual files themselves are not read-only it should work).
  21. Adding +livery to the line should not effect the ability of LCPDFR or any other mod you have to run. Look at the vehicle when you are ingame and remember what texture it has, then when you go into the .wtd in sparkIV/Open IV make sure you replace that texture you remember seeing ingame with the one you want to see. Then make sure you hit save before you close sparkiv or openiv.
  22. Yeah that seems correct as long as the original formatting (tabs) is intact.
  23. Make sure read-only protection is disabled for the files and folders inside your grand theft auto iv folder, especially the commondata folder.
  24. Have you tried Sam's non-els one from the gallery here? I'v been able to edit it with no dramas in the past.
  25. They might have those other skins as liveries so if that's the case you need to open vehicles.ide and add +livery to the end of the vehicle line. The vehicles.ide file is inside grand theft auto iv/common/data and this is what I mean by adding +livery to the end of the line (for the police car) police, police, car, POLICE, POLICE, VEH@STD, VEH@STD_RI1, 100, 999, 0.2345, 0.2345, 0.2, 2, 1.0 ,1, ext_requi+ext_strong+livery Doing this will make the vehicle spawn randomly with the different textures (liveries) or in specific locations if you use Sam's Area Livery Mod. Alternatively, if the livery you want it to spawn with (say NYPD) is the one you want it to have all the time, you will have to use sparkiv or open IV to open up the vehicle.wtd (texture file) the same sort of way you added the vehicle in the first place, find the NYPD livery in the list of texture layers on the side (maybe it's called ambulance_sign_3 for example), save it/extract it and then find the primary livery (called [vehiclename]_sign_1 like ambulance_sign_1) and then replace it with the one you extracted earlier so that it overwrites it.
