  1. Yeah I think that's the direction I might go with it Yard but here's what I'm having trouble with; I have a maximum of eight lights in total. I can apply lights to the base (that will always spawn) and to any extra configuration. My issue is where the lights would go best and with what lightbar. If I've only got 4 lights to use on the lightbar/extra then I need to find a bar that will look good with 4 lights. Any suggestions (or unlocked lightbars? :P) would be appreciated. I understand Caine did a similar thing but I'm starting from scratch and I want to be unique.
  2. Good to see you're on UV-mapping now Tom, looking forward to what you put out.
  3. I think I'll have a take on the Buffalo next up. Request came through by PM and I should be able to oblige. I'm aware at least Lt. Caine and Sam both have Buffalo mods and I'd like mine to be different. Any other suggestions are welcome.
  4. In Zmodeler terms, the siren objects are the flashing lights for some reason
  5. http://www.lcpdfr.com/forum/57-lcpdfrcom/ Are you using the simple uploader or the advanced uploader?
  6. Yeah I'm not sure what you mean in about the siren being on but the doorbug is an unavoidable part of ELS. It's just the way ELS works when the lights are activated.
  7. You can get a demo off steam or off the developer's website. I'd keep an eye on the Steam summer sale though and wait for it to go on special. It's 20% off now.
  8. If you can spawn the cars with the scripthook console or SNT is it really necessary for them to be in the LCPD:FR rotation? It isn't really possible to get what you want with the way the mod is structured at this stage unless you buy Episodes From Liberty City and play the mod on that instead. It will give you access to 4 extra slots for police cars to go in, which are filled by default by the police bike, the police buffalo, police stinger and the NOOSE APC.
  9. Probably because you have Simple Native Trainer installed. You need to disable the keybindings in that either through the trainer.ini file or through the trainer menu ingame.
  10. http://www.lcpdfr.co...-modifications/ Click non-els on the left hand side so it shows only the non-els vehicles. Download any of them and install them using a program like sparkIV. Most of the downloads will come with readme files to tell you how to install them but if you still can't figure it out, don't make another post about it here, just search for youtube videos "how to add custom vehicles to gtaiv using sparkIV". To install them they will have to replace the police cars in your game. So with default Grand theft auto IV and not episodes from liberty city, that gives you about 7 options for custom police cars. ELS V6 is probably the most-crash prone option. ELS v5 is apparently more stable. Just remember though that ELS only works with ELS cars. You shouldn't have any problems crashing from non-els cars really.
  11. Are you talking about the light patterns when you press /? I'm pretty sure that lighting mode 3 is the exact same as the normal flashing pattern, just with no siren. Either way, I don't believe that what you want to do is possible.
  12. I have a feeling that each car has a limited number of lights that will function in-game. I think the fbi slot can only have 4 non-els lights, police cars might be limited to 8. They are just (dummy) objects like any other model and can be moved anywhere around the model in zmodeler if you have someone who knows what they are doing. Pretty sure that model is locked.
  13. It requires zmodeler 2, which costs money, a fair amount of patience and care. Where exactly did you get the template from? Just install the firetruck that it's supposed to be for.
  14. Are you sure it's for the default firetruck? Are you sure it isn't for a custom one? Or at least a uv-mapped version of the vanilla one? Some of the default cars have some decals that you can change but in terms of a full template like you see on all the custom chargers/cvpis/impalas etc. none of the default cars are equipped with that sort of thing. They need to be UV-mapped.
  15. Because they are UV-mapping templates are are more useful for telling you what goes where. You're not supposed to draw directly on top of them.
  16. hahaha oh boy, you didn't think of mentioning that earlier?
  17. If you are doing a proper job of skinning you shouldn't need anything more than the templates and you should be working on separate layers on top of those templates. Nevertheless, you might actually find these useful
  18. So you'll just ignore that thread then?
  19. There are a few suggestions here, try them http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=380818 Completely removing games for windows live/windows live marketplace and reinstalling all that, updating display drivers etc.
  20. Blank skins, transparent skins or templates? Templates: http://gtapolicemods.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=110 http://gtapolicemods.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=70
  21. I think the steering wheel is too big for the driver's hand position. Is this fixable by any way other than scaling it down?
  22. Find a template or a skin for the same vehicle, open it up in a graphics program (Paint, GIMP, photopshop), draw on it, write on it, stick other images on top of it, then save it and import it back into the vehicle.wtd This is a bit more advanced
  23. It should be able to find that, it finds mine fine. Try both running as admin and not running as admin. Is it on the same harddriive? Try putting the diagnostic tool into the same folder as launchgtaiv.exe (the GTAIV folder)
  24. http://www.lcpdfr.com/forum-20/announcement-5-need-support-read-this-first/ Download the G17 diagnostic tool, run it as administrator and copypaste the information
