  1. Police Buffalo [V] (original, vector-style lightbar), Police Buffalo [s/M] (randomised slicktop + MX7000 lightbar), then probably the Taurus and/or revisiting the Vincent for some touchups. In terms of bigger projects, the Rebla is still sitting in its work folder waiting to be UV-mapped again but I always manage to bugger it up. Then I dunno, it depends what there's demand for and what I have time for.
  2. The Police Buffalo [V] is pretty much done. I may have an issue with one of the doors or seats but I haven't been able to confirm it yet. I might message it out to a few testers for any final suggestions and to find any bugs.
  3. Suspects only go on their knees when you do a gunpoint arrest. I think it's great. If you aim at them from far away and they comply, they'll go on their knees. For added realism I like to press numpad1 and sometimes i'll say "Get down on the ground, now!". Then I move in closer and press E to handcuff them.
  4. You don't actually have to login to the computer ingame. The fact your username is there is just for show really.
  5. Braveheart's script only came out in the past two days so you won't find any information about it anywhere other than in his thread here or on the download page. The downloaded file should be a .rarfile with 3 files inside. You drop policing.ini and policing.net.dll in your scripts folder. Policing.ini has all the controls and any customisations you want to make are done by editing that file. Run the game and press alt-del to receive callouts.
  6. Actually since we have a deeper way of controlling the lethal force/pursuit tactics in the next RC3, can we see similar ideas applied to the aim+3 Wanted mode? Currently it seems that wanted just means 'shoot this person until they die'. It'd be nice to be able to press 3 once for them to try to arrest, press it again to change to lethal force or press it a third time to disable it.
  7. My car has a very limited memory and forgets what I tell it all the time. Any file you download should tell you on either the webpage you download it from or in the download dialogue box what size it is.
  8. So Abraxas has been slowly dripping hints to us in his screenshots of the police helper in action if anyone hadn't noticed already. From what we first saw it was: Remove All Barriers C____ I____ ____D (Check ID Card?) R____ C____ B___ (still a mystery) R____ R____ B___ (revealed as request road block) R___ B___ C___ (revealed as request bait car) Who thinks they can guess the top two?
  9. Okay just a quick bit of feedback after my first little play with the mod - I really like traffic accidents. There's something about being first to respond to a scene like that and then having to make all the right decisions (close the road off, stop cars, breath test the drivers, call the fire department or paramedics if necessary, call to have the cars towed etc.) It's great.

  11. So in terms of what you've included, this will compliment the Breathalyser script rather than replace it?
  12. Would it be a reasonable idea to move the information to another area of the screen? Especially considering the LCPDFR information display looks like it will move to that exact space in the next RC.
  13. Speaking specifically on non-els; you can only have 8 non-els lights in total for a vehicle in any police slots (aside from fbi which I believe has a max of 4 lights). So you may be able to do something creative with positioning the lights so they are the in the same location for each lightbar but it'd be tricky. I may look at it once.
  14. So the general duties Buffalo (1 with alternating lights, 1 with the original vector style lightbar) are progressing well. The Vector-style light bar one is essentially finished, I just need to see if DLer is interested in supplying his LCPD skins for the public release. I think before I put it up though I might try and improve the prisoner divider slightly and maybe do some work with the lightbar textures. Depending on what improvements I make to the inside of the vector-style lightbar Buffalo, the mx7000/slicktop version might take a little longer. I've determined that I'll just use Caine's MX7000 except it'll be blue and red (users will be able to change the colour if they wish) and the slicktop setup will just be rear deck lights + grill lights like the default FIB Buffalo. The Taurus is really just a fun project that I'm not sure will make it to release. I put the original prisoner divider from the Buffalo Interceptor into it and modified it quite a bit making it look really nice but I'm still trying to understand the nitty gritty of transparent materials in Zmodeler. One thing I also added was a Federal Signal siren control panel in the roof near the rear-view mirror which I thought was cool. The model itself needs some edits too though as the steering wheel is currently well out of alignment with the player's hands. I'm also working on retexturing a lot of the interior. As I've mentioned though, Uni looks like it'll be a very busy semester for the next 10 weeks so I'm not sure if I'll get (m)any big projects out.
  15. So they'll stop in the middle of the road and talk on their phones? That's still something worth policing.
  16. It's a great game these days, just needs more people playing it. They just released the Wolf pack DLC that has added lots of new content but it's $10 if that's an issue. They did release a free heist map last week too though.
  17. I'm sure this issue has been discussed by Sniper himself several times. It's an issue with winrar and other standard archiving software that doesn't like the way he compresses these files. Use the other install option that he provides or try 7zip.
  18. Like if we could hit a key behind a car (perhaps it'd be better if we were in a car at the time) that would make the driver get out and kneel down in the old arrest position? Maybe with accompanying dialogue? The context of the action would be a bit of a challenge though. It'd be fine to do it just on any random civilian car but generally if it could work on any fleeing suspect that'd be cool (maybe with only a limited chance of success, like a button to demand they stop with only a 15% chance of success and when it does succeed they'll get out and kneel down ready for arrest?). This is probably way too complicated but I really wouldn't know.
  19. Very exciting, looking forward to see what you make of it What can you do toward felony-stop style traffic stop arrests?
  20. I enjoy playing with the Ford Taurus Still has plenty of work to go including some texture changes I want to make on the interior. It is (slightly) higher in file size than my other vanilla vehicle converts though, and will most likely still cause the taxi bug. I'm still testing the Vector-style lightbar variant of the Buffalo too.
  21. More cool skins Escobar, great to see. I've looked at realigning the Whelen Liberty on the vapid but it's sort of awkward. It seems like I can have the actual housing of the lightbar centred, but then it looks like the lights themselves are off-centre. It's sort of strange. I'm not sure what the version that I uploaded has. If I can't take the model apart and re-align it I might just have to make a compromise. I'm also playing with the recently released unlocked Taurus just for fun so that might turn into something interesting. I forgot to mention too that because the Buffalo (and other vehicles I will release in the future) has a police computer that illuminates when you turn the vehicle on (effected heavily by graphics mods) and as a result, the texture is now stored in the .wtd itself. What this means is that you can, if you so choose, have your own police computer screen if you modify that texture file. It'd probably work best for those that drive with first-person camera mods and roleplay as a particular agency. I might include a template and some custom ones that I come up with in future download packages.
  22. You're 11? Maybe the quiz is directed at a different demographic
  23. Kubeanie it is not for direct import into the game. It is a base model for vehicle modders to use to create vehicles out of. It is essentially one (major) ingredient in the recipe that will eventually be a custom police car. I just about finished a really basic unmarked version with a spotlight, prisoner divider, PC, radio, microphone, grill lights, rear deck lights and no pushbar but I made the mistake of installing Sniper's policing package apparently before it was ready so until a fix for it comes out I can't really test it (I could try uninstalling it but I prefer the fact my GTA is inaccessible while I do other things right now)
  24. Ah! Nearly finished an unmarked non-els version! Fantastic
  25. Currentlying F5ing the download section for the Taurus to be approved. Making a non-els version might be my next project once I've had a proper look at it.
