  1. Same... I like to go on the odd rampage don't get me wrong, but when I do want to rampage I play gta IV, which is geared up for that experience and gives a challenge with cops helicopters etc all after you. I play LCPDFR for something different. It's still a stress reliever and gameplay fun but it involves a bit more than normal GTA IV. In LCPDFR you need your car, your gun, and your brain. LCPDFR....The thinking mans GTA IV :p
  2. Just a guess but I would think the way they respond /drive is hardwired into the AI and at best tweaking is all you can do. That said the devs of LCPDFR must have some degree of control as there was a huge improvement in that department with the latest version. Agreed though they are still far too aggressive and cause problems.

And besides, if op gets British police cars added as default then I want a clown car with flashing lights that backfires. When you turn up at a call the doors fall off and 32 officers get out of the car. This would be helpfull for those people who want to play as a circus clown :p
  5. I think you answered your own question. Try modding just one car you drive, If you can in fbi slot or noose as they don't spawn as often as police 1 and 2 Your running out of GFX memory by sounds of it.

  8. That is the sad and real truth in any large city. No police department wants their system clogged up with homeless. If they are asleep in a public area they tend to get moved on is all. Use arrrest mode with batton to get them to stand up and pay attention, then cancel with no action taken. Then they will walk away. Unless a city has a certain policy they would only be taken in and arrested if they are comitting a more general crime, other than loitering. Sometimes they are more of a an asset strain on the parramedics who get called out to the ones who are passed out. Like most of society I would think it's "unofficial" policy to pretend they are not there. There are just not the resources or manpower or any where to put them. Interesting to here what the real cops on this forum do though :)
  9. Kids is a total no brainer, and will never happen for reasons mentioned. I was really surprised to see a dog in the trailer and would be amazed if it's in the game for the same reasons. But, I can see R* getting around the issue from the fallout by only having police dogs and not pets. The distinction being they are working animals not pets and when the inevitable backlash comes R* defence will be to point out the double standard and hypocrisy when people are outraged that the protagonist kills a police dog to escape but they make no fuss at the 20 police officers he had to gun down and the handfull of inocent civilians that got in the way. Surprised R* would open themselves up to this but that will be the moral block they stand on if they do. I dispise cruelty to animals but wont make an issue out of it when i am running down pedestrians by the dozen. ""Let's hope we'll see children in the future as well, and disabled people."" lolz
  10. The one thing that will always hold back GTA V on pc is consoles. We aint gonna get features thats consoles cant handle. Well not major features anyway. What I would like to see is an overhaul of the AI and the wanted system. Ever since GTA III where you get a wanted level and gather stars across the map to loose it was lame. And now with IV if you stay out of sight long enough you loose it, better, but still lame. Then 20 seconds later you can drive past a police car in the same smashed up car with blood all over it and nothing ! At least have to change cars, making the police stupid beyond belief just ruins it. As in real life I would like to see the police take an interest in the person, and not just when he is commiting crimes. They should be building up a case, at times finding yourself under survelance and having to loose your police tail before you can get up to anything. Bribeing certain officials. When arrested having to pay for a lawyer. The more you pay for a better lawyer the more of your equipment you walk away with. I would like an adversary. Maybe a maverick cop, a bit like dirty Harry who is hell bent on taking you down and breaks the rules now and then. Most of all though just want an end to hiding till wanted level goes then walking up to an officer with gun in hand covered in blood only to get no reaction. For me it's a story breaker when the police AI do that. Like I said, swap cars at least or change of clothes otherwise the police recognise you from 30 seconds ago and resume trying to arrest you.
  11. ok maybe not police related as is the spirit of the thread but this is a sort of half decent analysis. http://www.youtube.c...3/5/8KCQEdMwcbg Note: a load of unrelated garbage at the begining. Forward to 1.40....
  12. Yeah I get same problem with ENB when using the "force AA" / "force resolution" sertting as you say it resizes the window. The red markers are the other thing affected but that isn't game breaking. I can't even use the police computer at all, and could never find a workaround. I also can't use Sniper's dashcam as it only shows a fragment of the interface. Like I said I was never able to find a workaround and only use that ENB version for general play. For LCPDFR I had to revert to using non forced version. As it's not really a fault with LCPDFR or Dashcam. They were never designed to work like this. If you do find a workaround or anyone knows of one of course I would be interested too.

  14. I just hope they overhaul the AI in some way. At the moment it's either they chase and shout at you, or chase and go phyco on your arse and not much inbetween. The introcuction of some police tools would be nice too. No idea what they are called in the states but in UK we call them "stingers". An extendable narrow spiked mat that pops your tyres when deployed by an officer in front of you. Would love little touches like that. If that pic of police batton goes into final game that will be good. Gta IV failed not giving police a batton by default. The lights on the pics Sam posted do look a lot more detailed and like he said we not seen a night time shot yet.
  15. The amount of income the GTA franchise generates they would be foolish not to release it on PC. But I think we will have to wait. If anyone can find any info on numbers of units sold of GTA IV on PC alone I would be interested. This is worth a read though.... http://www.vg247.com...ell-20-million/
  16. K9 units :) Smithers......Release the hounds !
  17. Surprised to see a dog in the first scene. Rockstar have always avoided animals that fall into the pet catagory. Pigeons are ok, but can't wait for the the outcry from the "video games corrupt our kids" brigade when they see you tube vids of an infurnus flattening a pouch on the beach :) Also that music. Most of you prob too young, but it's a remix of the small faces ogdens nut gone flake. A drug fueled trip album.. bit of useless trivia. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpJ0vJ8gLSs
  18. "Sometimes" being the key word there :) 30 minutes to go ! Site will prob' crash 5 min's before deadline.
  19. Interesting stuff, and nicely done. I just made an account and will try it out later.
  20. I don't know about these things but in that root folder is a Dll file called Firewall installhelper. I don't have that file, prob something to do with where you downloaded your game from. anyway reason I am getting at is can anyone with knowledge tell if LCPDFR needs to comunicate with server to work. I know it contacts server to upload stats. Can you see what I am getting at ? Is it possible that his firewall has blocked the mod. ? Like I said I don't know about these things just shooting in the dark as it's been nearly a week this poor guy has tried to get this working.
  21. Scrap my last comment. Don't know why, but for some reason I had it in my head it would be a bonnet cam view type thing. Yeah ok I don't know how I could end up with that conclusion either. Especially as I watched the vid Anyway gave it a try, And yep I can have just the function available when and where I want it. Best mod Iv'e dowloaded in ages. Apart from LCPD:FR obviously :)
  22. Can someone with more knowledge than I take a look at that. A lot of stuff I don't recognise there. In there somewhere could be his problem.
  23. Like the look of the active and positional radar. Thing is I'm not a dashcam view kind of person. Is that view or the entire mod able to be turned on and off ? Would love to use it just at speedtraps, as it's prob the best radar I've seen as far as being able to set up a postion and catch area.
