I use dsound as well. always have.But I have never had that error your getting. Just wondering if you have used Xlive in the past. Could cause an issue loading saved games that were saved using xlive ? Just guessing here tbh.

Will do NB. Took a look at some of your EM4 vids too. LA mod seems most popular for obvious reason but really like the look of some of the other mods too. Reason I am interested is this game seems to offer a different pace of play. It's good to have a mix of games to suit the mood your in.

In response to Jack asking about 1080p..... I have recently made a youyube account, and only so far posted one vid. I get 1080p but it shows up as 1080p a few hours after. (maybe youtube releases your vid in 720 as soon as it's done but the 1080 takes a while longer). Anyway, the only thing that might be different to my account than a regular account is I applied for extended upload righ away. In other words I can upload vids over 15 mins long. Long story short, 1080p was what I got on my first vid. Of course It makes a difference on the quality you upload to begin with I guess.

I just looked at your stats... Connected, but user seems to have not linked their account to the website. Bitt odd. Anyway I gave up on stats as some of the stuff, such as chase / pursuits only get recorded for the testing team it seams. At least they are the only ones I see who's stats in that area increase. The rest of us are at zero on pursuits.

Subtitles enabled in settings maybe ? Now and then I get the odd subtitle of a speach I just heard a ped make. Not very often but it happens. (I have subtitles enabled) Theres a far more common one I hear all over town, but at the moment can't remember what it it is :/

Someone did a mod that used hookers dressed in police uniforms lol. They had the right uniform and were female but the way they would walk....they would swagger up to you and it looked like the last thing in the world they were gonna do was arrest you :p Also If I recal their speach was hardly ideal for an arresting officer :)

aparna I don't pretent to know much about log files but the one thing that does stick out and does not appear on my report is....[iNFO - 11:48:7] Failed to disable xlive protections.. No idea if that is relevant but have never seen that on my reports. Fingers crossed someone with a little more knowledge than me knows whats up.

Bloody good job I asked it seems. I would have brought 2012 in my ignorance, and then would have been so bloody annoyed with myself after realising LA mod etc would have been closed to me. No wonder I was getting conflicting info on the web and was having trouble finding out if it was english version or not I was looking at. You seem to have answered there pretty much everything I wan't sure about. +1 And yeah the youtube stuff I saw had LA mod and that looks pretty cool, so unless anyone knows different about 2012 it would seem wise for me to go looking for the 911: first responders. First off I know nothing about this game. I saw a you tube vid of emergency 4 and liked the look of it. A bit of googleing about has left me a bit confused. Steam has Emergency 2012 in it's store, Is that pretty much the same thing ? Reason why I was looking at steam was the other stuff I was looking at it was unclear if they were an English version. The steam 2012 clearly is. If anyone plays, or has played Emergency 2012. Or knows anything relevant about the Emergency series that will help me decide on whether to purchase this on steam or not I would be happy to hear your comments. Is it any good ? Can it be modded ?

Ahh, "once my car is full" I see, no wonder I couldn't get it to work. Think I will forget it. Reason I wanted them to follow in another car is I'm anti social and wanted my own car to myself :) Thx for clearing that up.

You need to download and use "simple native trainer" In that there is an option to spawn bodyguards. Note: you have to disable key bindings in options with trainer or it will conflict with LCPDFR. I have a question myself.... I thought it was possible to spawn a bodyguard / partner and have them follow in a car. So far all I have been able to work out is to have a bodyguard drive my car. Is there a way to get them to follow in thier own car ?

30 secs is the trial version that also has the "fraps watermark" on anything you record. Pay for the full version to record unlimited time and without Fraps logo. It is a one of payment and costs very little. Worth every penny imo.

hehe, My game does the opposite. As soon as I hit record all the cars drive well and the peds are well behaved citizens. Not a crime in sight :(

Just a warning to all those people who downloaded a cracked version of GTA IV. If R* decide not to release GTA V on pc I will be blaming you personally. And I will be writeing to Santa, asking that you be put on the naughty list ! You only have yourselves to blame. That is all.

Game booster 3 which is a free download, amounst many other things has in tools section the ability to defrag your game file. Defrag and optimise your gtaiv folder. IAfter a lot of messing about modding my GTA IV folder I had an issue with lag, after defraging it there was a huge improvement. It might work for you, it might not :) Google Game booster 3.

I notice you are using 0.91 version, at least that what it says in one of your logs. There is a newer version .095rc, has some extra features. tbh I don't know which version is more stable (maybe someone with more knowledge can answer that) but could be worth trying it see if it works for you. http://www.lcpdfr.co...-095-rc1-fixed/

Could be crashing because... Sorry to say, but you don't meet the minimum requirments to run GTA IV in the first place. System RAM (GB): 2 It might be with all the help in the world your pc will continue to crash. Edit: actually you are running it on XP which uses a lot less than Vista or 7 so you can prob' get away with 2GB and no other mods. So, disregard my post. :) Move along, nothing to see here.

Be more specific and I'm sure people will be able to help. What exactly is it your doing. Explain process. What keys your are pressing, where you installed your ELS etc etc. Details details details.... Because if you have tried a million ways allready it's unlikly anyone giving a one million and 1 suggestion that you havent tried yet. Hard to work out the problem from just the information "it's not working". Are you pressing the right keys would be a good place to start.

Yep that too can be annoying. Must be a setting somewhere that positions these views. I will keep looking. While we are on the subject does anyone know what the "handbrake cam" on / off does. I can't seem to see any noticable difference either way by selecting on or off.

Just to rule this out, you are using F10 F11 and F12 in the car yeah ? (pretty sure you are from your description) Also when in car open the police computer "E" And use the menu in there to call a back up, just to see if that works. Noose, helicopter, ambulance and firetruck can also be called from that menu as well as uniformed backup.

Thx for taking the trouble to include a link. Yep, it's not exactly what I am after as it's a driving follow cam related thing I am after. That said I never knew about this mod, and it will be helpfull to me for other things. (making vids etc, as you pointed out) In another game published by R* ... "LA Noire" I was pleased to see there was an option to unlock the car follow camera position. Just wish GTA IV had this too. I have messed with various files and tried to change the default position of the follow cam, but with no luck. it's all beyond my tallents tbh. I did find a file that had x y and z axis of the camera that follows the car but I just couldn't work it out.

Does anyone know of a way to set up a free camera setting ? In other words, Using the mouse to position the camera, and have it stay there without slowly returning to the default angle as soon as movement of car or ped is inititiated. I find it annoying, especially in pursuits when I have to keep adjusting the camera angle to my prefered position.
