Here I go again...never getting to sleep tonight, lol. This argument should clear up EVERYTHING with gay marriage in America. For the sake of argument, suppose "I" am gay and "you" are straight: According to the United States Constitution, all men are created equal (men refering to mankind - all humans - for those who might think otherwise). That means I am equal to you. If we are equals, why can't I marry the person I am in love with but you can? Shouldn't we both be able to get married to the love of our lives, regardless if this person is of the same sex or not? [Also, I'm going to change "disease" in my last post to "disorder," that seems more appropriate.]

Try this after doing what DarthWound said if it still doesn't work: Open start menu, type Services, press enterScroll down to "Windows Live ID Sign-in AssistantIf it says "Start the service" on the left, click that. If it says "Restart the service," click that.That still has to be running regardless if you click Play Offline or not. It doesn't if you have the xliveless (xlive.dll) asi loader which is not recommended.

Did you try starting a new game (not sure if that would help, first thing that came to mind with "safehouse"), or removing every single mod except for ELS?

That actually would be nice; if someone made a script where police will handle random events around you that you can assist in, or you get called to help an officer with something - not just show up and kill two people. For example, a car accident that you will respond to only to control traffic, with everything else handled automatically. LCPDFR has the random event thing where police will be in foot pursuit, but the only way to help would be to arrest them yourself or get them to stop so the other guy can aim his gun at him and walk him to a car (sometimes yours).

I tried setting up a checkpoint once using Braveheart's traffic control features in his script...it didn't go well. I'll have to try it again using PoliceHelper and the police barrier instead...

I know this topic is a few months old now, but since it was bumped I just want to say: I wish I could download this...I got it from Direct2Drive which was bought by Gamefly, and now Gamefly doesn't have the game available for download. Maybe I'll buy it again one day.

I understand what you meant in your post before. Edit (this literally just came to me and I actually got out of bed to post this): Here's another argument that will shut down any "evolution" arguments. Donating sperm and insemination. Homosexual males can still donate their sperm and homosexual females can still be inseminated to continue the whole "passing down your genes" thing. Don't know what insemination is and are too lazy to look it up? It's when a female has semen injecting into her reproductive tract. No sex involved. Also, after thinking about my other post about how one becomes homosexual, I realized that some people who actually think might say that homosexuality can be considered a disorder. True, but that still doesn't mean that we should take their rights away. The only time someone's rights should be taken away because of a disorder is when that disorder is impairing their judgement (making them a serial killer or something) or some sort of important life function (like if you are required to stay at a mental hospital (or half-way house, or anything like that) because you can't take care of yourself - mental hospitals are pointless, however, because the "hospital" part doesn't exist; those places are just "storage places" for the mentally ill when they could be getting actual treatment, but that's a different topic), and even then they should be treated as equals.

Regardless of anything, who says heterosexuality is "natural" while homosexuality isn't? Scientists are getting closer everyday to proving that your sexuality is natural. Take a Psychology class. Here's a part that would prove that it isn't natural, which is what whoever is arguing this is basing his argument off of: The rest of the article proves the people who disagree with you (including myself) right. Actually, pretty much everything we do is "natural." Our brain determines the way we behave. Neurotransmitters, hormones and all that other stuff is what really makes us do what we do. Yes, we each have our own beliefs which are developed based on our environment, how we were raised, our experiences, etc. but there is a lot of stuff going on in your head that is greatly affecting it. Seriously, just take an intro to Psychology class and you will learn this stuff. Take any science class to learn to actually LOOK UP PROOF before making an argument. EDIT (adding on to this): Who are we to say that people who are naturally attracted to the same sex should have less rights to those who are born straight? It's not their fault. I'm sure there are Christians out there who are homosexual. Most likely hiding it since it goes against their religion. Just watch Trapped in the Closet by R. Kelly. The Pasteur was married to a woman, but having an affair with a man! He didn't want it to get out that he was homosexual (or bisexual, I think, since he said he also loves his wife) because it goes against a random book that people worship for some reason (not to be disrespectful). The Bible is another argument, but I'm just gonna put this out there: People think Scientology is ridiculous because people believe in a science fiction novel. IT'S THE SAME DAMN THING. Scientology is just making fun of all the religions that worship books.

This is true because Steam will have to re-download the game in order to re-install it. Just make a backup of the entire original directory, so that if you have a problem you would be able to copy it over.

I'm not going to bother reading through this entire topic since people on the internet try to argue without having their facts straight, which I am positive happened here. But here's my opinion: I don't think marriage (in the way most of us mean it) should be handled by the government at all. Anything that has to do with the government (taxes and stuff) should not involve marriage. That's what separation of church and state is. How it should be in the US is that people get a legal union (or civil union I guess it's called) where they are classified as "Together" according to the government. It shouldn't matter what genders are involved, anyone over the age of 18 should be able to file to be legally together with anyone else over the age of 18. If they want to get "married" in the religious way (in a church with a priest or however your religion handles marriage), then that should NOT involve the government in anyway. The church can then have it's own rules on who marries whom. But since everybody in the government are complete idiots, this will never happen and there will never be true separation of church and state. tl;dr: Anybody should be able to legally "marry" anybody. Edit: I just skimmed through the last page...I love how people are trying to say that this topic shouldn't be here...this is the random forum for anything. I know you're joking, but for those who don't know, you can not just have someone send you the file and play. In order for it to work, RC3 has to validate with the servers meaning you can't play it unless you're on Sam's secret list. (well, not that secret: Community Team and Testers really.)

I don't see how the normal release is "half of the game." The only things you get for the special edition are: artwork, a blueprint map, special ability boost (each character's special ability goes up faster, which is why Sam said it will be easier for people with this version), stunt plane trials (agreed that this should be in the normal game, but whatever), bonus outfits, tattoos, and more (there will still be plenty in the normal game), additional weapons (only a pistol, shotgun, and hammer - there will still be plenty in the normal game). Everything listed are things that should be in a special version of the game and not in the normal game. It wouldn't make sense for it to be in the regular game. In the collectors edition, there's the security deposit bag and key, a hat, custom characters for online (from previous games), unique vehicles and garage property. You instantly receive a garage for custom cars, which leads me to believe you will be able to have a similar garage in the normal game eventually. This garage comes with a special hot rod and "sports bike" (motorcycle or bicycle? I'm not sure, but I'm guessing motorcycle) and an electric car for online only. The characters and cars are unique, again things that should only be in a special version of the game and not the normal one. You get the blimp no matter what version you pre-order, including normal retail version. I honestly don't see what the problem is here.

Yeah, I think it's related to the issue with LCPDFR backup. I have that problem with the ambulance every so often, but it isn't every time I call one. And I'm having issues with the FD now, too. Same problem as previously mentioned in this thread, I believe. Not a major problem for me; I barely ever have to call FD and if I do and there's a problem, then fire extinguisher it is :)

I don't know if Sgt. Kanyo's (and whoever else was involved there) problems were properly addressed, but read the guide in full and all of your problems will be answered. I'll even sum here for you with quotes from the guide in the spoilers: Flash delay (slowing down flashing of lights): Open ELS.ini and change the value of "Flash_Delay_SP" (or MP for multiplayer) under [MISC SETTINGS] "Bug" with Extra 8: Open the vehicle configuration file for the vehicle with this "bug" or just the default_config file (if you only use this, which I have a feeling you do) and change Type = leds under [ SECL ] to Type = drct Using the default GTA IV siren in multiplayer: I never play MP, but according to the default keys file included with the last upload of ELS 7, you should be able to use your normal GTA IV siren with the key set in GTA IV. (this spoiler is from ELS DEFAULT CONTROLS.pdf Using the default GTA IV siren in Singleplayer: You have to use Express Mode. Again, from the default keys file, this is activated with CTRL BACKSPACE. The problem with backspace is that it is normally used with a trainer, causing it to not work in ELS. If this is the case, change the key to something that doesn't interfere in ELS.ini by changing the value in ToggleExpressMode to the corresponding key code. What Express Mode does is let you use the default GTA IV siren, automatically activating Light Stage 3 when you activate the GTA IV siren. IF the above explanation for MP doesn't work, then this is the solution for that as well. Hope I was able to help with the problems a lot of people are having. I came about these solutions by actually reading the user guide. And also playing with ELS in game to figure it all out. It isn't that hard.
