I do have to agree with Olanov here. It does seem that they are getting necessary in the increasingly more common cases of criminals with high end weaponry breaking the law. And it's not like the Officers take out the M4s on every stop. If you're concerned about the AR15s mostly gathering dust in the boot of the vehicle, then I think it's worth it, just in case that next traffic stop has a wanted (or unwanted...yet) criminal with a M4 or such a weapon with him & hates police. People just give the police all kinds of sht, no matter what they do. I bet you if there happens one incident where a officer was killed by a person with a AK, they'll blame the officer because he either, didn't have the appropriate weapon to counter the AK, didn't have the "correct" training, or he deserved it because he was a "pig". Officers do only enough that is necessary to maintain peace & ensure the safety of everyone in almost any situation. They are our Front line of defense against crime. If the front line of defense is armed with just a pistol (against enemy's having a AK, M16, etc.) then it doesn't matter what your 2nd or 3rd line of defense has (SWAT, etc.), you still lose lives in your front line. EDIT: Changed all M4 text referring to police issued M4 to AR15. Apparently, me mixing the two up makes me an idiot & I have to shut up now. So....yeah, last post on this topic from me (or will it be?)

Tell that to Mass Media, & insecure Moms & protective Dads. Doubt they would even listen & just try to sue R* for some child abuse or whatever they can find wrong with it. Already the Media is blaming FPS games for "causing" murders & other unrelated BS. I don't want GTA to be added to that.

I agree with Olanov, willpv23, & ineseri here. That's like saying, "Hey, I don't like the very early alpha Esperanto in GTA:IV. So, why should I even play GTA:IV?" Also, how could we know, maybe the Caddy is just a test vehicle, a quick render of a random vehicle to check test basic systems on, & then when the time comes for actually getting various other HQ vehicles in the game, it will be removed?

Oh, that reminds me. Forgot to mention that there is a bug that happens sometimes if your police ped model is too HQ & the game won't spawn it ingame as a AI on-foot cop, it'll divert to the other non-modded, default cop model, even if it's inappropriate for the location (for eg. State Trooper spawning in Algonquin, etc.). Usually putting the non-modded cop model in the next line after the modded model in pedsgrp.dat fixes it, sometimes it does not.

Backups are a must when modding a game. If you don't backup, you should not mod. @OP: Did you change any of your Police peds? If so, either change them back to default, or Go to GTA:IV folder > common > data > open pedgrp.dat > scroll down to "# POPCYCLE_GROUP_COPS" then:- Make sure "M_Y_STROOPER" is in the line after "M_Y_Cop, M_M_Fatcop_01", if it is not, do the correction. If it is in the correct place, then remove "M_Y_STROOPER". That should stop the State Troopers from spawning on foot & hopefully start spawning the normal cops again. However, note that this will completely stop them spawning on foot, meaning even in Alderney you will have normal cops instead of the State Troopers, not good for realism imo.

It's generally considered better if you give additional detail than "It's been mentioned", like for eg, a link to the topic, or a description of what it found, or if there was any tutorial that someone linked/listed there, etc. Or if you don't remember about it, state that instead of leaving us guessing @OP: I got nothing, sorry. Not really familiar with ELS since I haven't used it much, & not at all nowadays. Also, by steady burn do you mean having the lights switch at a steady pace? (Instead of the usual "Depending on your FPS" pace [high FPS, lights switch super fast like crazy. Low FPS, light switches thru a slower & bit more like real life] ).

Well, currently you can only search the trunk/boot, as far as I know. Walk up to the rear of the suspected car, & while within touching distance of the trunk/boot, press E (you may have to spam E) & you will search the trunk/boot.

Ah, yes, I remember this. Can't believe it's already been almost a year. Saw their post on FB a week or so back, reminded me of this game again. Definitely one to keep an eye on.

No. I don't consider GTA IV a badly made game. Very poorly ported, yes, but not poorly made. You just made 90% of the LCPD:FR site members envy you, hehehe IV was awesome for it's time, but I don't think V will be the same. Already many people are getting bored of V & some are even pissed at it. I won't mention it's flaws here, so as not to derail this topic into a "Why don't some people like GTA V?" topic. For me, V might probably be a tie with Watch Dogs, or one of them will overtake the other.

Jajaja All I got is a modded police slot (EVCS) & SNT & I'm good to go for hours & hours until my textures fail or game crashes! ^-^

People "participated" will be the amount of trees planted x 100 (Since 100 views = 1 Tree planted). But if you mean how many people participated to help plant the trees (as in physically go to the place & plant), then I guess yeah, that would be interesting... Well, I never tried PornHub, I've got my other sites that I like. Guess I might try it now, lol

Vanilla, mmm, tasty. @OP: For peak game performance? No mods. Most mods are high Res, meaning they use more PC power than default (vanilla) stuff. Regarding what mods you should use, well, it's your wish! Whatever suits you, & you think is cool, you put that in the game. Asking us what mods to install is like asking us what shirt you have to wear today, or what you have to eat. Install whichever mod you find is AWESOME & you feel you would like to have that in your game

cargrp.dat located in, you guessed it, Grand Theft Auto IV/common/data folder That file handles traffic spawning & the different groups of traffic in the game (police, russian, italian, rich shoppers, etc.) If you just want random vehicles spawning in traffic in random places, why not try a Traffic Spawner script? There are many around, & you wouldn't have to waste your time creating something that is already available.

It's a compromise both ways. If you turn it on, you could get some mouse (movement) issues. If you turn it off, you could (& most probably will, with GTA) get screen tearing. If your FPS is usually under 50-60, then it's better to turn it off, so as not to give more load on the PC (although the load is very very little, but in some games it gives a noticeable improvement). People like turning it off so they get "higher FPS", doesn't really matter, since their monitor is displaying 60 FPS anyway (& it's not changeable [it's physically locked to it]. Unless you're using a [for example] 120Hz TV as your monitor, then it's [physically locked to] 120FPS).

Don't forget to reassemble it! hahaha But yeah, basically that. & make sure you're putting everything back the same way it was, screws & such. And after you disassemble it (or better, before disassembling), & before touching anything, touch a metal surface (steel bar, etc.) to remove any built up static in your hands. After you've done that, buy yourself a Laptop cooling pad, those help. I bought mine a few months back & now my laptop stays more cooler than before. If you want ultimate laptop cooling, then there's always the "AC Duct up the Laptop's arse" trick, lol (but it does have disadvantages, one of them is your Laptop basically becomes a PC since you can't just carry the AC Duct everywhere with you).
