  1. *enters restaurant* person: I would like some swat please. oh, & some police as dessert. Thank you. *swat breaches restaurant* swat: GET DOWN ON THE GROUND! NOW! Person: ooh, so tasty, mmm.
  2. V1.0 for me (not 1.0b, but 1.0). I like it's feature that if you get in a chase, you can go solo. Since my laptop doesn't like lots of police vehicles chasing a ped, it's a great +1 point for me  Also, when there is lots of police vehicles chasing a ped, I seem to get much less of a slowdown than in 0.95 (in 0.95 I used to get a noticeable slowdown with just 2-3 police vehicles in scene. Now in 1.0, I can get up to 5 vehicles before I start to get noticeable slowdown). I can barely run vanilla MP with more than 15 players (thank you net code), so I don't really play LCPD:FR in MP (tried it once, even with just 1 player in lobby I lag out sometimes when coming out of station, or just after choosing my vehicle [NOTE: This is {obviously} due to my laptop, NOT LCPD:FR] ).
  3. Yeah, this seems to be a bug in v1.0 (unconfirmed) I have this uncontrollably issue too sometimes (about 2 times in around 50hrs of playing v1.0), mostly if I respond to a Homeless people causing Trouble callout. Your character enters a state of random walking/driving, & all the AI police will start targeting you. I tried putting stars on me & removing them, but that didn't work (guess because LCPD:FR has the Never wanted option set to On whenever you're on duty). I was wondering if this happened due to me having the NoControl mod, but since you're getting this too, then I guess not. Anyway, anyone else had this happen to them?
  4. Thank you for this topic. I noticed this in another video & was wondering about what it was. Now I know
  5. Try going to where you installed GTA:IV & launch (double-click on) LaunchGTAIV.exe But make sure you're running the game as Admin, because otherwise lots of problems occur. To run the game as Admin, right-click on LaunchGTAIV.exe & click "Run as Administrator", & then click Yes in the dialog box that opens. (If it works & you don't want to right-click everytime, then right-click LaunchGTAIV.exe, click on Properties, go to Compatibility Tab, & tick mark the checkbox "Run this program as an Administrator", click Apply, then click Ok.) (A side-note, I would suggest that you follow this topic, to get notifications on when someone posts stuff. Go to the top, & click on Follow Topic)
  6. Remember when games used to be judged based on their gameplay & replayability? Yeah, I miss those days Don't get me wrong, I do like things to be pretty, but if it doesn't have the gameplay to back it up, then what's the use? Anyway, before we get too off-topic, anyone else got WD early? I really wonder how many of us got it earlier than release date.
  7. So, if I understand you correct, they had Hardcore set to on, but then installed LCPD:FR 0.95 RC-2 with Hardcore option off (check box unticked)? If that's the case then their Hardcore mode is Off. Tell them to go to the FirstResponse.ini (located in root GTA:IV folder / scripts) & change Hardcore to True (Hardcore = True). This will turn on their Hardcore mode, & therefore whenever they're shot, they will ragdoll (even in MP).
  8. Well, you still need the animation for the officers to get on the ground & handcuff a suspect. The only thing you can do with this, will result in the officer handcuffing a invisible suspect & the suspect on the ground magically getting cuffed.
  9. Ask your friends / the other players if they have Hardcore On. If they don't have it On, then they won't ragdoll when shot. If they do have it On, then they should ragdoll when shot & you should be able to see them ragdoll too (& you'll see them ragdoll exactly how they ragdoll in their screen too).
  10. I agree. Last I heard was IV's MP will still stay & we'll still be able to play online.
  11. 'Nuff said! (But yeah, what's been said [& you replied to]. Leave it blank)
  12. I'll be getting a Exclusive version of the game, for free. I'm pretty sure my laptop will be able to run it on Low. I hope I can push that to Mid, but as long as I can play with at least 20+ FPS, I'm happy
  13. SPEIRANS, UNITE! SpeirsTheAmazingHD kilplixism Node Some Honorable mentions that I just have to mention: Olanov, 95trane, GTAmissions (GTA:O videos & custom matches), & VirtuallyVain (this guy is too good in what he does, doesn't upload often, but funniest videos I've ever seen). But my main are the Top 3 I mentioned, never miss a single video of theirs
  14. While I strongly dislike cop haters, I agree with this post. Cops are generally given a lesser "punishment" for a crime/wrong doing they commit. Although I don't say to throw a officer into jail in most cases. But (depending on the situation) at least a temporary suspension with or without pay (again, depending on the situation) should be done. The officers robbing the stores is just plain corruption & abuse of the uniform. It should be followed up correctly, & if found to be true, those "officers" should be fired & charged for their crimes with maximum sentences. In the other case which you mentioned about the dog, the owner should not have been arrested, but given a warning......well, more like told that although they appreciate how the dog is trained, they should have also trained the dog to not attack/run hostily at a officer in his uniform. With that said, the officer could have either tasered the dog or shot into the ground surrounding the dog. At most, if the dog still continues to run & lunges at the officer, hit it & continue chasing after the original suspect. Shooting the dog seems a bit much, imo. Although, since we don't know the exact circumstances before & after the officer & suspect reached the backyard, we can't really judge exactly if this was the exact & only option left for the officer to execute.
  15. The sounds are just placeholders & will be switched out for more HQ ones before release. Would still hope you keep a eye on it in case you get to like the release version of the game The uniforms & vehicles are just temporary placeholders while the Devs get the scripts & engine to work correctly & as designed. They will be swapped out for more realistic & better ones before release
  16. Do you work in a 2nd hand PC shop or smh? Sorry, that statement just has me wondering so much, lel Anyway, let us know how it goes. Good Luck!
  17. Doesn't affect me. In fact, I hardly ever studied while I was at home. Maybe touched my books 2-5 times a year for a max of 3 hrs each. I still got above average (about 80%+, for Maths & [stupid] Social Studies 70%+) marks at school. I was never really told to study regularly everyday, so I didn't. 70% of my days was spent playing games & doing other stuff (reading my books, comics etc). 30% was my tution (which Dad forced me to go during my Class 10th, just as a boost I think), which was 3 hrs for 3 days per week. Summer holidays were spent playing 24/7. Doing or not doing summer assignments doesn't matter over here, so most of us didn't do it & just copied each other's at the end of holidays. I just did mine partly at the beginning & balance at the end of holidays. Just goes to show what you can achieve if you actually & seriously pay attention during class, I guess.
  18. They look much better & much more realistic. Really like it. I usually don't like wigwags, (because before they didn't look all that good & weren't in a specific pattern that I watned) but I think I wouldn't mind having these on certain vehicles
  19. cp702 already gave a explanation. Another alt is to have incremental areas. Area 1 is largest area & slows down cars a little, say until 50mph, Area 2 is a little smaller & slows down cars until 40mph, Area 3 will be smallest & slows down cars until 30mph. That way you get incremental slowdown (almost like real life) & no chance of collision. In the menu/.ini, whatever speed value the user puts in, the script will automatically add 10mph for limit of Area 2, & 20mph for limit of Area 1. You can also add a small chance that one car will be ignored in the slowdown. Therefore adding realism, as if that vehicle driver wasn't paying attention/watching the road, & he/she created a TC (if the normal GTA traffic behavior isn't able to avoid it quick enough) EDIT: Yet another alt is to increase time between when slowdowns are applied. For eg: In SNT if you hold the Slowdown button, you will likely slowdown from any speed to 0mph in 1 second. However, press the Slowdown button, once every, say 0.5s, & you'll slowdown at a slower rate. So, make the script to apply slowdow to a vehicle a maximum of once every 0.1s, 0.25s or 0.5s. This will also create incremental slowdown without use of different Areas. The rate at which slowdown is applied can be messed with & changed until you get the optimal rate.
  20. Well, it could be made. It can keep applying "Slowdown" (check SNT, it has that option for player vehicle) until the (traffic) vehicle reach that certain speed. The speed can either be mentioned in the .ini, or a option ingame, pressing a button combo to bring up a menu for it (yet another menu to toggle).
  21. I was very skeptical at first when people said ELS v8 had damageable vehicles, I just assumed they mistook it for ELS Dot net. But boy am I surprised now! Great work on it. Loved the linked video. ELS v8 might just see me returning back to ELS vehicles being my main patrol vehicles. EDIT: Oh, almost forgot to ask. Does ELS v8 still use the parts system (somehow working around the repairing of the car) or have you got another system working? (No need to specify what the other system is, if you don't want to)
  22. Daytime, currently. I actually prefer Nighttime a lot more, but my game's FPS goes too low for my likely during a chase, so I keep it Daytime. Can't wait to get my new PC (it's still months away probably) so I can dump IV full of vehicle & graphic mods, lel
  23. I feel conflicted now. On one hand it's funny an immature baby can't handle losing a game, on the other hand that's sad. I generally suck at FPSs, but have tried my hand at about 5-8 matches of CoD:MW2 & MW3 "unofficial" version. Only thing I found fun was the modded Zombie mode with modded maps with teleportation & choke points. I miss that sometimes, but I've way better games with a way better community to play with. Although, I want to add in that I never saw any 12 yr old griefing in the "unofficial" version of the game. Anyway, guess that's what you get when you make a game so casual even 9 year olds can get "pro" in it. EDIT: Just got a funny idea for a hilarious video montage. (Somehow) Force a 12 yr old CoD "Pro" player to play Dark Souls 2 (& complete, if he even can) Epic fails, check. Epic rage, check. Epically funny to watch, double check.
  24. Damn it, I'm always late D: Well, then I don't want to "strengthen" their stupid points by adding "child abuse" to the list.
  25. To add to their silliness, I'ld like to point out that the car that they "don't like" won't even be in the final game, since it's just a placeholder. Anyway, I don't think I'll miss them in the MP sessions anyway. Just don't want them to lose the experience playing this (the way it's going) epic game. Oh well, I'm not discussing about their silliness anymore.
