  1. It sure isnt much but its what was expected, and I think its amazing! It's always great to hear word about whats being developed. Sam, please do keep us updated with features you plan to add. We don't need a release date or extreme details (It's only been a couple weeks, its understandable) but I'll be checking the page for updates, and hopefully features that are going to be added. The possibilities to this are endless.
  2. That's fine but that doesnt mean go against the mod and try to convince other people to like your opinion. A lot of people want ELS, I don't see how you like just the default light system but thats your opinion. I really do hope some sort of ELS comes out. While this is partly true, there are plenty of non ELS cars and car packs. if they can deal without ELS they can do with the default cars too, If not then like I said theres plenty of non-ELS cars, just because some people don't want it shouldnt stop the ones who do, it should be equalized for both parties (Ones who do and dont want ELS cars) Even if not ELS, hopefully some way to control the lights separate from the siren.
  3. The hype is too real, Can't wait! Its probably not a release of anything but add changable light patterns like you did with 1.0 in LCPDFR, until something like ELS arrives. In-fact, when you guys get far enough there should (and i dont doubt there will be) a suggestion list for any new project (SAPDFR/LSPDFR) can't wait to see what else is going to be shown
  4. It's been a while but it was pretty fun. Considering it was running on san adreas it was limited but before I discovered LCPDFR, yeah I'd think it was on par. Standard roadblock/heli support stuff, pursuits, callouts, partner, etc. -snip-
  5. Oh boy, look, something to compete with. Kidding. I guess we'll have to wait and see which one will be better. if this is the team that made the original SAPDFR for san andreas, I have my hopes up for this. But we'll have to see.
  6. Sort of. They got their money back, but it's in steam money so whoever put real money into steam to buy them, guess that money is bound to your steam account now.
  7. You can download the files separate by going to "separate car files" and download whichever ones you want. It's a bit outdated ELS wise but its works fine, and I've never really crashed using them, despite ELS v6.
  8. I would of been fine with an option that fixes it but apparently nothing has been found. People in this reddit thread seem to have the same issue, people with the highest shadow settings and extended distances still have the issue. AMD CHS just makes it worse, by hiding it and making all the shadows blurry. Really weird. hope for a fix soon, maybe I'll contact R* about it.
  9. Gotta love the power of the internet. Something upsets a large majority of people most likely something will be done. I'm glad they reverted it before it got to other games.
  10. To be honest, this is probably the lowest poly you can possibly get with ELS. (most, like police1 and police2, however not some bigger ones like pstockade) are literal stock cars with HQ textures and ELS, with a slightly different lightbar. I used this one on my laptop and I still use them as a placeholder, if I ever get back into playing lcpdfr frequently I'll probably switch but i think they're great. Heres the pack. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/w4usz31sl5h9ilk/YoQlWcAjkh (Not mine by the way.) Theres a video on it as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmEYsWssiUA unless you are happy with what you have, just my suggestion :P
  11. I too miss the "softer" physics of the cars, crushing them into a chunk of metal was so nice looking. As for the handling, slightly tweaking IV's was still way better than V. The cars in IV were more slippery and realistic compared to in V where its almost like theres a drivers-assist, keeping you on track, unless you count driving at high speeds and spinning out. It's hard to explain really, IV just has this feel that V doesn't, and i think it feels better to drive with. Cop cars also accelerate at ridiculous god damn speeds, opposed to IV where they could be kept a little ways behind, now they are automatically faster than your car and ram up to your bumper, usually knocking you to the side. I feel like rockstar babied all the people who couldn't drive, I'm sure there was many complaints from GTA IV's handling
  12. I doubt you could run V with that processor, what's its clockspeed? either way the minimum is a quad core, so that would struggle right there. GPU, yeah no clue, laptops are hard to tell. Allthough your GPU's vram and your normal RAM seem to be enough, even if you managed to get the game running on low I figure you'd have overheating problems, badly. Moral of the story, don't play PC games on a laptop. I'm sure you could handle IV though, while i do have to warn you it's pretty badly optimized, but with commandline tweaks you could probably run it on a low-medium.
  13. So in short the shadow LOD in gta 5 is terrible, and on most rigs this seems to be happening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVV9vfQCCxQ&feature=youtu.be (note: not my video, but the same exact problem I have.) Some say enabling AMD CHS or the equivalent Nvidia one (Depending on which card you have) fixes it but indeed it doesn't, it just hides it behind blurred low quality shadows. My shadow quality is on the highest, and I cannot use "Extended shadow distance" because it's grayed out for whatever reason. Long shadows are on but I don't think thats related This is indeed very annoying from far away, while driving or going really fast past stuff the shadows render in as im on top of them, instead of further ahead, just like in the video. I have other examples but youtube takes forever to upload a 30 second clip at 60fps. If anyone has found a fix for this please post it, I've looked over threads on the rockstar forum and reddit but no solutions. I was having the same issue with the streets rendering badly from far away but turning up Post-FX (weirdly) fixed that one.
  14. I do hope LMS/Sam are looking at these suggestions. there are some pretty good things listed in here, some of these would be great!  Because people who like to stay vintage with old vintage police cars and default lights don't like the fancyness of ELS. in their eyes what we have is enough. ELS would be great and I would hope that an official version is released far before any LSPDFR, or atleast something similar with it's release.  This. The backup could be vastly improved, but with V's AI i'm not sure what's different from IV, better or worse. But that's for the modding team to figure out :P It's too bad braveheart doesn't come here anymore. Last time his policing script was updated was ages ago, pretty sure he just does stuff for his private clan nowadays =/ Oh and as another suggestion: I hope to god the ambluance is fixable/working. As for in IV, they drive like retards. in V, it might be actually usable to get downed suspects taken care of. If an LSPDFR is released it's going to be a little weird at first without anything that already exists, for example all the vdH mods (Of which the developer is gone, so those are gone for good and are bound to GTA IV). Those would of been great. I want someone to at-least make a coroner mod, or a working ambulance implemented within LSPDFR. The dream ;_;
  15. Trainer does work online. Some asshat is even streamed it on youtube, using explosive bullets and no gravity, etc. I wonder how they're going to fix this one. They can't possibly stop every single person using it online, they apparently match up cheaters in "cheater lobbies" instead of full on bans but either way theres probably hundreds of people doing this by now. I guess it's no surprise, it's been there since console but now its just more larger scale.
  16. Aside from another LCPDFR, I'd actually like to see a working ELS eventually. The lights in the game look amazing no doubt, but theres no way to have just the lights. Its either siren + lights or no go. Also a way to trigger the "other" siren, triple tapping the horn key seems to work but only for a split second does it play. Just a simple ELS. to control the lights, and maybe make them a little brighter (optional?). If you're one of the "muh default cars" people you don't have to download it, no point in saying "nooo pls dont make one". depends when modding becomes a little bit bigger and we start seeing them frequently. so far only certain things can be done and I understand that. good luck on experimenting with GTAV, hopefully we see some good stuff come out of it
  17. I guess this has already been a thing for a bit now? https://www.gta5-mods.com/ exists and looks pretty nice. Can't wait to see what other people come up with.
  18. What any other type of game would ban you for: any type of unfair or cheating advantage on another player(s) Trainers, aimbots/wallhacks, and even quite possibly the Custom FOV mod, once again a possible advantage. I'm not sure if rockstar has a specific policy, but you could either ask them via their forums or just avoid any type of mod until it's confirmed.
  19. Many people have fixed this "stuttering" by updating their drivers. Nvidia as well as AMD has released driver updates containing fixes/optimizations for GTAV specifically. 16GB of ram and my Radeon R9 280 seem to be holding up fine on high, I do experience texture issues (possible memory problem, just like in IV but less heavy), usually when loading a mission on online, or sometimes textures will start to fail to load, after about 4-5 hours of straight gameplay. nothing major though.
  20. Well for starters you might want to put more information than "my computer cant run this game", post your specs. Depending on how much VRAM your GPU has, you should probably keep texture settings at a lower point, like normal. Even just high will start to eat up VRAM space. Turn off unnessecary things that could speed up the game, I can run everything on high, but can't max out the sliders, thats when it starts to get beefy performance. Turn down population variety, density and detail distancing down. Anti-Aliasing is an eyecandy and not really needed unless you're really anal about it like I am :p, same with AF (anisotropic filtering) If you're already on the lowest possible settings with that FPS, then refer to this thread
  21. Mine was rather frustrating because it started out downloading at my normal 10MB/s-15/mb, then it went down to about 4-5 at 10GB or so, continued to go up and down for the next 2 or 3 hours until it finally picked back up to normalish speeds, around 45GB/59.1GB downloaded. so not only does it depend on your own internet speed, but if you bought this game day 1 or even a couple days after, the steam servers are probably slammed, considering it was up and down the whole time it downloaded
  22. AMD seems to have done the same, but they are beta drivers, therefore not fully "stable" or released but if you are an AMD user, might be worth trying out. I should be buying the game later tonight, can't wait to benchmark and hopefully play online.
  23. More callouts without relying on the API, ELS and the ability to serve warrants
  24. Nice script yet again.
  25. So I'm on a barely modded version of GTAIV and I'm getting WORSE texture loss and FPS drop than my heavily modded version that I use when I play LCPDFR. This version only has about 4 or 5 scripts including trafficflow, and I also have the same ENB I use for LCPDFR. These are two seperate folder copies of GTAIV (I just installed the game twice on steam), and this one where I plan on finishing the GTAIV story has a ton of more issues... I have zero car mods installed. Just CryENB v3 on the same settings as my other gta copy, and a couple small scripts (Robbery mod, Trafficflow, Ticket.cs, etc.) when I tried the same commandlines I got the taxi bug even with trafficflow installed, and even now I still get the taxi bug unoften enough...It's like this version of my game has 10x more limited memory.
