Why do people diss IV since V
To be honest there's a couple more mechanics in IV that are better than the ones in V, In my opinion. Like the car and ragdoll physics. I'll probably get a lot of shit for this but even the default handling was better than V's, you can say otherwise but I can't stand the default handling in V. There's also a lot of mods for IV that took a long time to develop, V just started out a month or two ago and stuff hasn't had time to really develop (unless you count LSPDFR which has been said by the devs to have made huge progress, which is great!). On rockstar's part they did a shitty job porting it, and it runs badly on most systems yes, but with tweaking the game can easily be made stable. even on my godawful laptop I got the game to run smoothly enough to play with mods, as with any game thats unoptimized (Or just, badly ported...). with that said, V did have some vast improvements, and it actually felt like a city this time, a loot roomier than IV. Although it seems like all the modding has switched over to GTAV since its release, and I doubt much more will come out for IV. To add on to OP's question, It seems like a ton of people were excited for the release of LCPDFR 1.0, I guess not a lot of people were really complaining about IV then, but then GTA V came out and people saw the differences. I still think a lot of mechanics in IV were tons better than what we currently have though.

Not bad at all. I'd be amazed to see something as good as policehelper in GTAV. Is it possible to use any of the code from the original? Good luck on making it, i'd love to see one.

Are there any plans to continue working on LCPDFR after the release of lspdfr? This has probably been asked before but I'm curious, I know I'll be playing both. It seems like not a lot of stuff using LCPDFR's API is being released anymore, and thats why I'm still hoping for updates, possibly more callouts? and you know, the general stuff.

So far I've renamed 008 to 000, I assumed you meant the .skel and everything else as well, whats circled used to be head_008_r. I'll rename the files in a second and check this out. EDIT: Seems all good. Appreciated. Thanks.

Nope. the two heads I removed in the .odd are nonexistant in the model viewer (m_y_cop.wdd) after reimporting.

head_000_r and head_002_r within the .odd. They show up invisible with no arms or head in game. I've messaged cp702 regarding his guide, his guide is flawless but it's me having a hard time understanding. Anyways, what else did I miss?

So I usually have trouble with this sort of thing, last time I edited PedVariation.dat I had issues and had to revert back, I'd like some help from someone who knows what they're doing. I currently use modified peds for police, seen here. It gives a couple new heads for the police, and keeps the original ones as well. I'd like to remove some of the original ones (The hispanic, black and white heads. I might keep the hispanic one). Only reason being is CryENB likes to mess up the original heads lighting, so two of the heads look darkened out and really bad in certain lighting conditions, unlike the modified ones I downloaded. I assume (see screenshot) that I'd delete them here and elsewhere, then have to edit the pedvariations.dat, and other files. I recently installed a different State Trooper ped as well, and manually editing the PedVariations didn't really work out for me, I either crashed with SMPA30 or state trooper voices were being attached to normal police peds in broker. What would I have to edit exactly to remove some of these parts? Any help would be appreciated, I can deal with them for now but I'd like to rid of them eventually. I just don't want a voice mismatch like before where normal cops were spawning with the wrong voices. A white cop shouldn't have the black ones voice. These were taken from a video, for example of my problem. Or is it just impossible for these to be removed? I'd like to "replace" them with other heads but the only ones I know of are the ones I have, it's a couple from EFLC and a couple from a modder or two.

Empty pursuits and nearby spawning backup?
I don't think any car models currently have any issues, I'll make sure though, everything else works fine and I don't seem to be having any crashes with them. I do meet the requirements, game runs fine and I'm using CryENB as well. I've re-installed LCPDFR as of yesterday and Im gonna see whats up. I have a feeling this could be memory related, like the cops disapearring when I look away from them. I usually have to babysit them to their car or clean it up myself :P EDIT: reinstalling seems to have fixed it. Cops respond normally again.

Apparently they wanted to keep it police focused, and the highest level of response would probably be FIB but that could of been changed. Gotta see what Sam says NOOSE would awesome.

Just getting closer and closer Kind of a dumb question but, will LSPDFR have (some) of the core features LCPDFR had? Such as with certain backups/Calling an ambulance, excluding NOOSE since you stated you don't want any military involvement. This time around we won't have many supporting mods like we did with GTAIV, such as the PoliceHelper or any API plugins for callouts, although some of those don't even tie in with LCPDFR they were awesome to have while playing it. I also can't stand some petty small things with V, like the way the cops hold their weapons and the body physics, it was more fun to shoot people in IV than in V. If theres anything that can be done about that with mods that would be nice. besides that, we appreciate the work being put in to the mod and I can't wait to see whats in store.

I don't know why but when I call in a pursuit no backup at all will spawn on its own, however when I use Alt+B to call a unit in manually they spawn pretty much right next to me, instead of far away and responding to the scene. It's pretty annoying, prisoner transport will do this as well. I'm gonna go ahead and re-install LCPDFR for now, this isn't really a support request but I'm wondering why all of the sudden in 1.1 this started happening... I have no issue with calling backup via QAM or other means but the fact they spawn nearly right next to me is a bit annoying. I'll just see how things run after this reinstall I guess.

Anyone have the vdH policehelper with warrant missions?
There's a couple people who have access to it, I don't think anyone would just upload it though. It would most likely be taken down, even though abraxas is gone he could always come back. But that's just my guess, I could be completely wrong, It would be cool if somebody with this new beta version could actually continue developing the mod in Abraxas's absence, I would of loved to try that version out. This isn't exactly the right section for this to be posted, but i'll leave that to the mods

Obama restricts military-type gear police can have
I don't really see an issue either. The most a situation should call for is heavy arms from something like SWAT, with certain rifles/AR's but the huge armored trucks and such aren't needed unless a goddamn riot is going on. I'm sure normal officers are certified to carry AR15's if absolutely necessary, aslong as Obama doesn't go crazy with the restrictions, but I see no reason to be angry about it.

Oh, I see. Well I did change my passwords just incase, I never found any signs of life from "fade.exe" or any of its variants, nothing im temp besides init.exe which tried to run from AppData, then avast got rid of that. Already deleted all the registry keys associated with it. It's pretty sneaky, this is scary knowing such thing can not really be prevented just by scanning the .asi file, I wonder how gta5-mods and other sites are going to handle this.

Would be nice to see Lt.Caine make a working ELS. The lights are so bland, and you can only have them with the siren, no lightmodes needs some bloom too. These new screenshots are pretty nice, I like the idea of lined up cars during pursuits.

Ah I see. Well I'm gonna do a boot time scan later anyways, I've already checked where this fade.exe is supposed to be located and theres nothing of suspcision in my temp or appdata at all. MBAM didn't find anything either. gonna avoid them from being downloaded though. EDIT: After reading through that thread fully it seems this sucker got as far as trying to run Init.exe which avast blocked. Which is when I scanned and found the startup registry key and ridded of that too. I never found fade.exe or anything alike which is strange, and it could still be lurking about my system. hope that scan works.

I've already used both of those. I don't see how such things can be stored within a .asi. Huh. this explains a lot, no wonder avast and Malwarebytes picked up some shit. Already deleted the registry key it made with MBAM and avast blocked the exe from running and ridded of it, I think I should be fine.Could of been unrelated though. If this is true then report those downloads (Unless they are already taken down)

No, there is not. after 1.0 and so on it became startcallout in console. I wish the debug menu would of been kept from 0.95 where you could do it there.

ELS V8.5 Not Loading
I already know your issue. You need to download the .NET and C++ Redist packages, you are missing them. Please download this and this You can try this too: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 Also make sure you have your AdvancedHook and asi loader (dsound or xlive) in your root folder, if you used the auto installer they should be. After installing the things above try using ELS/LCPDFR again, make sure to download the x86 versions. If all else fails, please uninstall LCPDFR and install it manually using this guide: http://www.lcpdfr.com/topic/25947-how-to-manually-install-lcpdfr-10-using-the-manual-installation-package/? and make sure you have all the packages shown there. The guide is for 1.0, however be sure to download 1.1 (the newest version) and do the same thing shown in the guide, just extract all the folders to your root folder and pick an asi loader (dsound or xlive)
