GTA 4 FREEZES WHEN LCPDFR IS ON
Also, in the ELS .ini file, set it so the AI does not use ELS lighting. That can and most probably will crash your game. DrDetroit

Steam problem.
Steam version is: Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Grand Theft Auto/EFLC (I use EFLC for LCPDFR). EDIT: Just noticed that you got it installed afterall. Nice. Hit the left ALT+P to activate LCPDFR. Good luck! DrDetroit

lennox operating system..reply!
Lennox is a maker of Dishwashers and such, so no ;-) I doubt Linux can run it...mostly used for server applications and the like. DrDetroit

GTA IV stopped working after instal LCPDFR
You only have 2-gigs of system RAM. You need at least 4gig far as I know. Post your computer specs. Good day, DrDetroit

GTA IV Random crashes
The RTC looks good when you max the in-game contrast slider and lower the brightness to zero (or vise versa), looks pretty damn good and not a system hog either. DrDetroit

GTA IV Random crashes
Here is the link for the latest scripthook. Just pop it in your games main directory. http://www.hazardx.com/details.php?file=83 Try RTCv4 located in the download section. Pretty good time cycle, better color and never crashed my game. DrDetroit Looks to me like you just need to re-install LCPDFR and it will probably fix your issue. I'm no expert but I seem to remember seeing the same issue not long ago and the solution was to re-install LCPDFR. Also, search the forums with the search function, it works very well. In most cases, these things have been answered more than once. DrDetroit

GTA IV Random crashes
Wow, CPU is 8Core, 16gig ram that's PHAT! If you have your game modded with alot of ELS high-poly cars, ENB, timecycles and the like, you'll most likley be subject to random crashing and lockups no matter the machine your running the game on. I can usually go 2-hours on average before my game crashes, but sometimes I'll crash within 20-minutes. Although, if that happens, after restarting the game I'll run smoother frames and get a good 2-hours of gameplay or more. BTW: I do notice that your scripthook.net is not valid. Note: For some reason I noticed I get much better frames if I quite the game after it loads the first time then reload the game again. I figured maybe some game files are committed to memory and the game loads faster and runs smoother after the second restart. Good luck! DrDetroit

Taxi Mission Mod
What is the "taxi mission"? Do you mean ability to hail a cab or is this a mod or something? NOTE: I should have read the OP post a little closer. Disregard. Good day, DrDetroit

GTA IV Random crashes
I thought the same thing; would be nice if you could be the cops in freeroam mode or something to that effect. That's how I found LCPDFR actually...I thought there has to be a mod where you can be a cop, did a google search and whala! Anyhow, you're specs seem as if you should be able to run GTA without too much lag. Is your Nvidia a 1-2gig card? Could be that is your bottleneck. Try turning off shadows, turn water quality to the lowest setting, set draw/detail distances 20 or less and car density to under 20 or even 15. All texture quality to meduim, reflections to low. Also, try lowering MipMap settings in your Nvidia control panel and turn off Anti-Alias and Anisotropic Filtering. Basically set your vid card to performance and not detail, see how that works. Good luck! DrDetroit

What do I open Lcpdfr with... And do i need the GTA disc???
If you have GTAIV installed, with the latest patch, just run the installer. Before you do, I think you have to play the first scenario in GTAIV first, then install LCPFR. Run the diagnostic tool if you have issues (located on main download page). It will tell you what you're missing, file wise. Good day, DrDetroit

GTA IV Random crashes
Have you guys tried running the diagnostic tool (opdelta did, how about the rest of you guys?). Maybe try installing the latest scripthook and see if that helps. It goes in your games main directory, depending on which one you're playing. I don't have a link at the moment, as I'm headed out the door, but I think you'll find it if you go to Abraxas VdhPolice Helper download page and I think there is a link in the description. Please post results in the message. Good day, DrDetroit

Textures not loading
You should post the results instead of an attachment. I don't know about everybody else, but I don't download anything from unknown sources, no offense. Good day, DrDetroit

Command Line Question
I don't think command lines work, at least not in my case. Actually makes my game run worse with the command lines that I've tried. The texture is probably due to all the modded cars your using in the police slots, could also be traffic fixes or both. Start replacing police, police2 with non-els low/mid poly cars and see if that helps. Ever since I stopped modding my police1 and police2 with ELS high poly cars my textures issues all but disappeared. Good luck, DrDetroit

My ELS lightbars are white
Cool, thanks for the update! DrDetroit

My ELS lightbars are white
Let us know what you did to fix it. I have a similar problem of dim and white ELS during certain weather cycles as well as day time. Thanks, DrDetroit

A New MP Idea
I've always thought about something like this. The neat thing about the idea is that you can have people who can play the cops, or people who just want to be a non-cop ped and commit crimes as well. Fairly dynamic situation for sure. Good day, DrDetroit

ELS Pattern/Mode Question
Yes, that does look amazing. Looking forward to it. DrDetroit

It Doesn't Work
Everything looks in order. What happens when you try to start the game? I had problems running the game until I removed Dsound.dll and used xlive.dll. Not sure why but that's what got my game working. You can't do multi-player with xlive.dll (aka xliveless) but that's fine with me. Good day, DrDetroit

Computer/Crashes. Please READ.
First; you need a decent processor, Quad Core recommended, although I run mine with a dual-core i5 with no issues, a lot of ram (at least 4gig, but 8-16gig is best) and a decent vid car with at least 1gig of ram, preferably 2gig or more. Second; are you guys using mods and ELS cars ect, if so which ones? Be specific. Some mods and cars will just wreak havoc on your FPS and game stability, especially if you don't meet the computer specs above. Good Day, DrDetroit

Need help buying/building or upgrading a computer?
Make sure you get a nice processor, quad-core i5 or i7 and a decent video card with 1gig minimum, I like ATI gaming cards. Everything else you can upgrade later. Check out Newegg.com and even Ebay has pretty good prices, although most of the ebay machines do not have OS's installed to keep the prices really low. Good day, DrDetroit

ELS Pattern/Mode Question
Hi Guys, When in the ELS menu (Alt+M), are the patterns assigned to certain callouts and do the various patterns serve a certain purpose? For example; if I'm heading to a shooting at a high rate of speed, is there an assigned pattern that I would use for that kind of callout or is this more of a personal preference? Once I'm on scene would I then be required to switch the pattern to C-01, for example? I'd imagine this is more of a department policy, but any thoughts would be appreciated. It will give me a better idea of which one to use, depending on the scenario. Good day, DrDetroit

Lag - only occurs during shooting call-out
I have the HP G7-1219wm laptop that I run GTAIV on (until I get my gaming rig back up), running at medium, and I don't get any lag during shootouts at all. Constant 25-35fps. Maybe try turning off shadows and water quality to low in the in-game settings. I run the nice ELS cars in my noose and nstockade slots and have several mods installed, although can't run any ENBs without severe lag. Good day, DrDetroit
