Same thing with indie Project-X (high-fidelity flight sim, to compete with Falcon4-BMS) which was started from scratch. Decent seed money, but the farthest it ever went after some 6-years + was some nice screen shots and a few videos. Now it's dead and who knows what happened to the code. I'd imagine you'd need a good $10-$50 million to get something serious going, it goes up from there once you get to Alpha/Beta. Good day, DrDetroit

You'd have to license the GTA engine from R*. Would be virtually impossible to create a living world like GTAIV with 3-4 peeps from scratch and hit deadlines (you would have deadlines for any commercial endeavor). You'd need physics modeler/engineer just to get started and with a whole team/development crew it would take years and years just to get it to the state GTAIV is in now. It's a full time job for the pros who make these games...it's their only job and they are paid well to do it. Rockstar would license it for a price...a heafty hefty price indeed and probably royalties to boot. A lot more goes into building games than coding. Nice dream though. Good day, DrDetroit

I have plenty of AI traffic on the bridges. I have to cut around all the cars trying to get through the toll booths it get's so busy at times. I do notice on the larger spans that I usually don't see traffic until I'm about halfway across. Good day, DrDetroit

Shut off Norton. Reduce your settings in game and in your vid card settings lower the mip-map detail settings, shut off v-sync, reduce or shut off anti-alias. With 1meg card you should probably use medium settings. Good luck. DrDetroit

Cool, thanks for the update. I had the same problem with a nice Crown Vic cab (low ploy), and it wouldn't spawn very often...almost never. When it did spawn, it had POLICE on the side of the car for some odd reason. I ended up removing it and all was well again. Good day, DrDetroit

Your specs are close to mine although my laptop has a 1gig vid card and 16gb RAM (which I just installed) and an i5 processor. Going from 4gig to 16gig of ram didn't make much difference for my FPS (not with GTAIV at least which is GPU and CPU intensive, helped with Skyrim and BMS4.4 big time though). I get about 30fps on medium setting, distance and detail settings at 25, vehicle setting at 20, which shadows off and water set to low. I run about 13-scripts with my game. I don't mod my police, police2, police3 or police4 with any car over 1.5mg poly count and only non-els cars go in those slots. The real nice high-poly cars with ELS only go in my nStockade and Noose slots only. I also use Traffic Load or Traffic Fix by Chikmaru to combat the taxi bug. My textures don't pop or go away any longer due to the tweaks mentioned. Good luck! DrDetroit
