Try using the search function, you may find a solution. I seen a few other recent posts of folks having the same problem, not sure what their solution was since I never had that problem. You have a beefier machine than mine and I run about 25-30fps at medium settings with car density at 40. Did you mess with your Catalyst Control settings for your vid card? Most of those settings should be set to "Use Application Settings". Turn down and/or turn off things like SmoothVision, disable CatalystAI and see if that helps. Also, could be a mod like an ENB or HD textures, if you're using those things. You can also check the sticky in Support section and lookup how to run on Win8 (assuming you're using Win8). Good luck! You have a pretty decent rig, you should be running smooth as silk at medium/high settings and you shouldn't need command lines at all. Do you disable your anti-virus before playing? I get the same thing, intermittently, when I don't disable my AVG. Another place to start; look at the background programs that are running. Also try going into your Catalyst Control Center and turn down Mipmap and VSync, lower those gaming settings and see how that effects performance, lower game resolution to 1600. Good luck! DrDetroit

So, I use Farnsworth business mod where you can buy many business throughout the city and collect funds, hire/fire people ect. I own several Tw@ts, diners and restaurants so far. Goal is to eventually own EVERYTHING...from The Majestic to the DoubleTree Inn, car dealerships, and everything in between. Anyhow, I was cruising through Bohan doing traffic duty, and I have some hoods pulled over for speeding. While running the license I get a random callout (business mod callout!) that one of my businesses is getting robbed, the 69th Street Diner, and a timer giving me 2.5 minutes starts to tick down. So I'm off to see what's up with lights and sirens blaring. I get there right as the clock hit's zero. As I jump out of my cruiser 4 hoods come running out the front door with guns blazing, as I get behind my cruiser 4 more hoods come out the side entrance. There are no markers showing you who is the bad guy, so you have to look for weapons and dudes shooting at you from behind cars which made the situation so overwhelming that I had to call numerous backup units, in which case after about 10 mintues of a firefight it was over. About 15 other random hoods jumped in the fray also...it was pretty crazy, needless to say it was a messy blood bath. The aftermath looked pretty cool though, bodies everywhere with the coroner and ambulance technician working hard to clean it up. As I'm headed back to my station in Algonquin, I get yet another call out that my Clucking Bell in The Triangle District was being robbed, but I didn't get there in time. They were long gone with about $20K of my loot. Anyhow, I thought it was cool enough to post this long topic and I know many of you are longing for robbery scenarios and the like...well this is it. Was really unbelievable, unexpected and awesome! So I figured I'd share with you guys in the event you want to try it out. You'll find it at GTA-Mods.com, I'll try to find the link. Should be J to activate lights and K for traffic adviser Alt+M will open the menu so you can adjust light settings using U for primary settings and I for TA settings. I use ELSv5, I think it's the same basic keys although v6 has more to choose from. If it crashes your game disable AI ELS and if that doesn't work use v5. Good luck! He's got a record of drug arrests and solicitation and was accused of killing his sister, whom may have been a victim of Eddie Lowe. I have looked at a few locations while on patrol although never seen anything yet. I sometimes make it a point checkout the old abandoned hospital, casino, Sprunk factory and mansion every now and then, but have never seen anything out of the ordinary. Come on guys, you can't possibly think it's a good idea to nuke anybody as a first response. That would not be a good thing for anybody. Good points! I save my game by going back to the police station after my shift, change back to Louise, leaving the station then deactivating LCPDFR. The reason I like to save is due to my Farnesworth Business mod, which is on an going thing. Try Chikmaru's Real Traffic, it's a good one also. Tons of traffic, very diverse, with little impact on FPS, although more resources are used than Traffic Load or Traffic Flow. Not certain that will solve the issue for sure. I see police bike's when I'm on one, not too often otherwise...every now and then they spawn in-game when I'm not on a PB, not sure the trigger though.. I see police3 and police4 when I call for backup or when I call for a pickup, and again, every now and then I see them on patrol as well as parked. Good luck! DrDetroit

Any time. It's mostly trial and error with the mods. Some just will not work sometimes. Also, In regards to ELS and high poly car mods; I do not use ELS (Emergency Lighting System) or any high poly cars in my police, police2, police3 or police4. I do use modded cars in those slots, but I keep them non-ELS and low poly as possible. Keeps the game from getting the texture bug, where your buildings and roads start to disappear. The list posted by GTAIVcode3 is a good one. Read the description and see what you like. TIP: If you see nothing but taxis on the road use Traffic Load or Traffic Flow (personally I like Traffic Load because it uses all 85-90 cars, Traffic Flow only uses 20-cars and you get traffic jams on the beach and in alley ways, where there should be no traffic at all, for some strange reason with Traffic Flow). TIP: Use ELS v5 if your game crashes using ELS v6, which is most recent version. Disable AI using ELS in the ini file...see the readme. TIP: Always read the readme files closely. Mods I use: Braveheart Script - Must Have Police Helper by Abraxas - Must Have Coroner Mod - highly recommended Tow Mod - Highly Recommended ELS v5 - Recommended - I only use in my NStockade slot where I have the one ELS/high poly car I'm using for the night. Less Overtake Mod - Cars will not run you over (as much) when on traffic stop. ALPR mod - Automatic License Plate reader - Good for checking vehicle plates on the fly IV Dashcam - Good for radar and location Strobes Mod I have about 5-6 other non essential mods, like Farnsworth business mod, Longer Days mod, bank Robbery Mod, PSS mod, ect...but the ones above i believe are pretty much essential. TIP: Install one mod at a time, then play for a bit. This will ensure that the mod works, and if it bugs out your game you can remove it. When you install several mods at once, if you have a problem you'll never know exactly which mod is the cause. TIP: Always...Always...Always back up your GTA files before you change/mod anything. Believe me, it will save you alot of heartache when you run into a severe problem. - I have a vanilla GTAIV entire directory backed up. It's a lot of space to occupy, but well spent.
