LCPDFR 1.0 crashes in various situations
Just gonna add my machine specs as well to see if I can help out the devs, as 1.0 runs well for me since I started using the workarounds. I do not play with the taser installed, as no matter how I installed it (automatic or manual) it would crash my game. This is with a fresh install of GTA IV. I do not have the EFLC expansion, just GTA IV. I now run Lt. Caine's Vapid Cruiser with ELS V7 in police 1 and 2 slots, as the default LCPDFR divide key lighting mode was crashing my game. I'm also using the Improved Police Officer's mod, and I think Sam's female officers mod with the female voice pack from the enhanced cop pack by someone's name I can't remember (sorry). Of course, because of my modded ped files, my game will crash upon entering the police station, but I just force duty and use a trainer to spawn the officer I would like, and a police vehicle. From there 1.0 seems to run quite nicely, until I get into a pursuit, or arrest a ped from a pursuit. I can arrest peds on foot and from regular pull overs without issue. My machine's specs are as follows. It is a mid-range "desktop replacement" gaming laptop. Toshiba Qosmio X775 Windows 7 64 Bit Home Professional Processor: Intel i7 2630QM @ 2.00 GHZ Quadcore with Turbo boost to 3.0 GHZ and Hyperthreading of an additional 4 cores. (Still only 4 physical cores) 6 gigabytes of DDR5 RAM Nvidia Geforce GTX 560M graphics card with 1.5 gigabytes of VRAM 2 Seagate Harddisks file system type of NTFS at 500 Gigabytes storage space Runs GTA IV quite nicely and without lag. I was very stable with LCPDFR 0.95 and I will say confidentally that I never had a crash using 0.95 unless I was on multiplayer. 0.95 was so stable on my setup. I used modded cars without ELS and I would end up shutting down LCPDFR due to playing for 1-2 hours and being tired before I would ever see a crash. Hope my system information is helpful to the devs. Thanks guys, keep up the great work!

Just me or was RC2 more stable?
I'm still having issues with the lighting mode crashing me out. I've never used ELS and I don't want to start, as Ekalb has some fantastic cars that I've added some of my own custom paintjobs to. I had to make backups as well and run a fresh install of GTA IV just to keep from crashing whenever I'd enter the police station. Then, when I finally got that solved, I start duty in vanilla cars with vanilla peds, I'd go to run LCPDFR's lights and instantly crash. It's really disappointing, but it's freshly released so give it some time and I'm sure there will be some hotfixes and other such patches that will help turn things around. A lot of users' are posting their logfiles and such, so I'm sure the devs will see a pattern and get it fixed. To be fair, they've made huge steps in all the right directions by really working with the AI, as that is some hefty code to have to tackle. On top of that, they've added a complex API system that is going to allow better communication of mods like Abraxas' amazing Police Helper with LCPDFR. I'm still very hopeful of this project and I think it'll be fixed up soon enough.

Possible Script For Realism?
Hey guys....just an off the wall suggestion...perhaps this can be done with a script, so it can be more optional for the players who would not enjoy having to do this. Anyways, as far as I know (and I am not an actual officer or have any real experience with law enforcement other than taking and passing the Oregon State tests for policing) but when a suspect is brought down with a taser, the police do not just haul them up to their feet, dust them off, apply the handcuffs and throw them in the cruiser for transport back to the station. This is because a taser, when deployed, fires several prong-like objects forcefully into the skin of the target, sinking themselves at least an inch in, which then allows the resulting electrical charge to be delivered. After the suspect gets to flop around for a few moments, stiff as a board, and finally submits, the police do detain them, but an ambulance is called to the scene to remove the fish-hook like prongs, and then clear the suspect for transport back to the station, or potentially take them to the hospital...since sometimes an electrical shock can do quite the bit of damage to a person, despite the weapon being classified as LTL. So I was wondering if it would be possible for a script to be made that would force the player (the officer) to call an ambulance to treat the suspect he/she just had to taze. Perhaps it would be random as to whether the EMTs would clear the suspect to be transported by the player, or they would have to take them to a hospital. Kind of like Abraxas' Police Helper where the suspect will climb into the back of the ambulance and depart. Maybe it'd be too difficult to do...I'm not sure. Just a random idea I had. Thanks in advance for any further input on this idea!

Random
A fatal shooting occurred near the waterfront around 2:30am on Monday. The first officer on scene approached a homeless man who was causing a disturbance and believed to be on heavy narcotics. The beligerent man proceeded to open fire on the officer with a semi-automatic pistol. The responding officer called for backup. A nearby unit (pictured) responded to the call and both officers returned fire, fatally wounding the shooter.

LAPD Issue Sidearm?
LMAO! High five. That's hilarious.

LAPD Issue Sidearm?
I live in the state of Oregon in the US and honestly, in my area there are hardly any gun-related crimes. However, I also possess a license for, and carry, a concealed handgun. I can confidently say those 12,000 deaths, are probably armed bad guys getting shot by police and people protecting their homes/family/property. Justifiable homicide, actually. And maybe it's just the American way. Like that moment in Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark when Indy just shoots that sword wielding guy. IE, American laziness to a whole new level. I feel bad for the cops in the UK. No offense is meant by this statement as the officers themselves bravely charged in and eventually subdued the guy, but I guess I mean it more for the government's lack of arming them. However the above video is just f-ing pathetic. American's wouldn't have shot him either, but a rubber bullet or beanbag fired from a shotgun into that pyscho's ballbag would've ended the situation much sooner and he'd be getting booked on Assault On Law Enforcement Officers. Why does the UK refuse to allow it's citizens to arm themselves? Do they not realize that bad people will not give a shit what the law says and they'll pack heat anyways? Not only that, but outlawing weaponry just adds to your problems as now a black market can now set up and thrive selling weaponry illegally. Plus, the government is losing out of those taxable dollars. Anyways, don't take this as me bashing England or anything as America is certainly not perfect, but please, I pray, arm your officers somehow. They need it. It's totally unfair to make them take their lives into their hands and not even properly equip them. I guess you can say that the cops in the UK are definitely not lacking in courage, because I know for a fact if someone told me to face down a violent criminal with just a stick I'd tell them where to shove the club and to do it themselves. And that's my schpeal. And I have no idea why I decided to go on and on like that. I'm sorry guys, lol.

Interesting Chase
Nice Vids, Faracus. If only I can find a group to play online with who would be okay with using my improved default cruisers by ekalb and sam. I like keeping the fictional LCPD stuff, but most everyone wants to use ELS and some sort of real department or city vehicles. And if only I had a functioning mic. My old one broke... =( Keep em coming man, thanks!

Late Night Riot
Is it just me, or does anyone else hear the song, "It's raining men" during the glitch? :whistling:

LCPDFR probably gets this a lot but...
My webpage glitched, I'll do my best to edit the post. Sorry, the server was having troubles when I went to post to the topic. :wallbash:

LCPDFR probably gets this a lot but...
This is one of my favorites by the way although I'm sure Ridgerunner already got here first. This one supports the LCPD livery, and it allows for plain colors too, if you're into the undercover stuff. Great mod.

Role Players
For me I tried to get into D&D and did play some games, but the group I was with happened to be the only people I knew who played, and they never really kept in touch with me, and alas, I had a bit of falling out with them, so I never did play as much as I wanted. As for LARP, I never could get into. I guess because I don't have the balls to dress up and go into public for that kind of stuff, lol.

Hero540's LCPD On Patrol Youtube Series
Here's a new intro I cooked up to add before each and every patrol video I plan on doing in the future. I think it's a bit better than the second episode, but with my lack of pro or semi-pro editing software, it's about as flashy as I can make it. You'll notice the "Episode:" marker will fly in, but I've left the number blank as this will change with each future episode. Again, just a test but I'd love any and all feedback I can get. Thanks! Interesting Chase
I need to get the full version of Bandicam. I'm still using the free version with the 10 minute limit. I also need to pick up a mic, so I can add commentary, which is why my vids are just gameplay vids. I just posted my second patrol video when I noticed yours. I was gonna ask if it was FRAPS you were using, but I now know, lol. Thanks! EDIT: Going back to the video, I noticed the BANDICAM banner at the top. HOLY DERP I am an idiot. My excuse is I was very interested in your video...lawls. :wallbash:

Countless problems with taxi's in my game too. Not glitches or bugs, or anything, just bat-shit crazy drivers like the guy in your video, LOL. I love how calm and yet shocked you sounded, LMAO. I'd be like, HOLY SHEEP! Call the fire department, get an ambulance!!! Just utter panic. I like how collected you were, lol. Good video, thanks for sharing.

Taking The Plunge....
Faracus, thank you! Yes, I love that mindset because it is so true, and yet so simple. I do have a hell of a lot more of a chance than if I just kept saying, nah. Comm: You sir sound a hell of a lot like my brother who is in the USMC. I guess I just take it for granted the skills I am using because to me, unfortunately, they seem so same, so mundane. To answer your question, because I have a more of a physical job when I am stocking shelves and such, I am using that as a psuedo exercise method (IE I curl the heavier product, lift and push boxes more than I would actually NEED to) and then while I am at home and awake (I work graveyard shifts from 12am to 8:30pm) I have started a regimen of leg lifts, push-ups, sit-ups and jogging. So I have been kind of training, but it hasn't been long since I received and turned in my application on the 11th. So I have been training since then and I have until about the 18th to continue training as the 20th is the testing day and I would like to have some downtime to rest my muscles before the tests. Not much time, but because of my smaller build, I do have a bit more stamina than average, and the nature of my job has me exercising regularly so I might be able to get away with it.

Taking The Plunge....
@ Hunter: Yes, I believe it's all voluntary and dependent on what you wish to carry. If you want a taser you must be tazed yourself. Same for pepperspray. I may be a wimp, but I'll probably only end up carrying a service pistol and a baton for this reason, LOL. Nah, I may take the taser. OC Spray never seems to work that well, and from what I've heard from other officers, you usually end up spraying yourself as well as the agressor. I'm a complete and utter wimp when burning substances get in my eyes. I cannot stand my eyes being f-ed with! lol. However, I'm also deadfully unaware of what our patrol officers carry themselves in my town, and I cannot find any information on the web what so ever. The KFPD website is very lacking in information (perhaps for a reason?) and because Klamath Falls is such a deadfully small spit of a town, there's no other real web resources to research anything about our officers. They may not even be allowed to carry tasers (much like the NYPD, only Sergeants are allowed to have tasers) The best way to garner knowledge would be to talk to officers in person, and the only officer I ever knew in my life was our on campus police officer during my high school years. When I graduated in '07 I was never able to be in contact with another officer, sadly. @ Slimory: Holy crap your officers make bank!!! The starting pay listed for this patrol officer position in my town was listed at $4,077 a month, which is a hell of a lot more compared to the $1,000 I make monthly now. Cool stuff about being able to drive a CVPI! Our officers here in my town use the CVPI's and the Dodge Charger, which if I make it far enough and actually get to be a cop, I pray I am issued a Charger, LOL. Love that car. Also, do you still smoke? Congratulations if you don't. Even though you said you smoked for 7 years, you'd be surprised how quickly your lungs and body begins to heal after some years of being smoke free. Your heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, pretty much everything gets better immediately the first year of being smoke free. (Note better, not completely healed) and if you're smoke free with a bit of cardio training and such I'd wager you could definitely go as far as getting yourself into the police forces in Canada. You'd be surprised.
