  1. Try a patrol as a Sheriff Deputy in Sandy Shores. Whenever I enter a cruiser there, I can press E and get lights and sirens, then if I hit J nothing happens. The siren will keep playing. The only way to stop the siren is the N key interaction menu where I have to manually select the lights only action. However, it's the exact opposite if I start as an LSPD officer. Press E and I will get lights and sirens, then if I press J it somehow magically works. It seems the only way I can toggle sirens on/off with the J key is by playing as the LSPD agency and not the LSSD. Very strange...
  2. I can also attest to this. Somedays it'll work just fine and I can use the J key to toggle the sirens, other times the J key does not stop the sirens and I will have to open the Action menu with the N key and manually set it. I don't know what sequence of events causes this. There must be, as like I said, sometimes it will work just fine. So far, it seems as though it only happens when I play as an officer for the Sheriff's Department. Whenever I am an LSPD officer, my siren is able to be toggled with J. I usually spawn in as Franklin, then just teleport to waypoint to get to Sandy Shores, so perhaps it's the teleportation breaking things. I'll try driving there normally and see what happens.
  3. I'm extremely tardy to the party in this response, but @Sam was very kind to quote me a few pages back and go into detail why/why not some of my suggestions could be or couldn't be included and that is just fantastic. I really appreciate you going into depth, and why you made the decisions you made. You cited not wanting a gigantic wall of text clouding up the screen in order to include the interactions that there are just no animations included for. This is very understandable and I think there's definitely two camps included on how they would respond to this. You have the people who just can't be bothered and they don't want this in their game. They want the hot pursuits and the shootouts, the non-stop 80's cop action flick. Then you have weirdos like me. When I patrol, I want maximum realism, even though it is just a video game. I'm recording for an audience on YouTube comprised of like minded people who want me to investigate the driver and make sure he doesn't have a warrant out for his arrest. People who, when a wall of text appears on my screen, they know I'll read it aloud and react accordingly, without caring that my police character in game didn't actually go through the animation of frisking the individual...they only cared that I had the foresight to frisk him and discover that knife and baggy of drugs before I detained him and placed him in my cruiser. Yes it would be fantastic if there were animations for every interaction just like there was in LCPDFR, but if you don't include that simulation, or the text or the immersion, I might as well be playing Enforcer: Police Crime Action. LCPDFR was a fantastic almost down to the bolts police simulation, the only one available on the market. It trumps professionally done police simulations (The whole 5 available to play on the market) just by pure immersion and attention to detail. It's really difficult making the proper decision on how to appease both camps. If I'm honest, there is no way to appease everyone. Some, like me, want the wall of text because the options of how we deal with our suspects is what engrosses us, what brings us our immersion. For others, shooting first then asking questions is how they play. Some could argue as say include an option to shut off the wall of text, but I understand that that would be very difficult to code. Whatever the case I saw a few posts really lashing into Sam and the other developers of LSPDFR and that is truly shameful. If you guys can do so much better, go make your own. All I know is I appreciate what has been done, and I know over time as they learn more about GTA V's file structure and how to program and use assets to suit their tastes, we're gonna have a very cool mod on our hands. I have faith that it will only get better over time. Let's take a step back and look at what we have: Like Sam said, it's only 1.5 months after the PC release and we already have a functioning, and stable police mod. Imagine what the next 1.5 months will look like in terms of new features and improvements. We just have to be patient.
  4. i think part of the problem is that thethe taser in gta V also results in death. I used a trainer to spawn in the taser and shot a fleeing suspect with it and they died. Every time I used it the suspect would drop dead so it really doesn't help. If we can access the weapons data of GTA V like we could the XML file in gta iv then it would be a fast fix. Unfortunately I don't think we can which is why I think the taser in the standard duty loadout was omitted
  5. Yes I think this mod if fantastic and lays out the ground work for some very cool features. Excellent modders within our community like Finkone and LukeD will probably come up with some amazing new callouts with time. With that being said I'd love to see the same interaction as in LCPDFR with a police computer for traffic and on foot stops including a warrant and frisking system. I feel those are really the only features I really miss at the moment. It was great to be able to stop a person on foot and ID them, check for warrants, search and then issue citations/arrest as needed. I also found myself missing the ability to call for an ambulance and firetruck. Lots of Injured officers and civilians and nothing I could do about it. I'm excited for the future versions of Lspdfr!
  6. Oh, awesome! Thank you again so much for your help, man. Sorry I missed it. Haven't been on the forums in awhile and wasn't able to go through the 40+ pages of content I missed.
  7. Very cool! Thank you so much. I really hope the Lspdfr download is bundled with Ragehook. I kind of don't trust any other mod sites after the whole virus outbreak.
  8. Anyone know if the rage plugin will come bundled with lspdfr, or should I work on setting that up now? And maybe I'm misunderstanding a lot about the rage plugin itself, but does it come with a sort of trainer like function built in? I'd like to be able to set the time in game to real time so I can do night-shift videos. Setting the weather was very handy too. I loved SNT for GTA IV because of how nice it made setting up for recording YouTube videos. Thanks in advance for any information.
  9. I always favored the Vapid Cruiser, the fictional copy of the CVPI. Good looking car. In GTA IV I used to download real CVPIs and replace the Ford bagde with an in-game Vapid badge just to keep everything matching. It seemed odd to have real police vehicles but all the other cars remained their fictional counterparts. Sometimes I will use the Buffalo Bravado the Dodge Charger knockoff. I am loving the lightbars on the sheriff Vapid cruiser's in GTA V the old style bulky two lens system. I haven't seen the LSPD variants spawn in game with that lightbar though. I have only seen the LED style. Maybe I'm just not looking close enough. Either way I can't wait to start walking the beat. This is going to be the best police sim on the market!
  10. I think i'm going city police. Dealing with the crazies in the urban jungle as an LSPD patrol officer sounds intense!
  11. Yeah, poor Sam. Now he's going to get mobbed everywhere he goes. This is just something I do, but I usually leave my account logged in so I can return and check updates, ect, so usually it will display that I am online even though I am no where near my computer. Probably a terrible choice but there's that to consider. Makes it much easier than logging in every 10 minutes and its possible Sam is doing the same thing. If I'm honest though I will admit that my mind is really sincerely hoping he's uploading the mod lol.
  12. Exaclty why you shouldn't be checking the forums on your phone whilst attempting an arrest. Lol
  13. That's soul crushingly depressing. I don't know how much longer my sanity can hold out. I tried to arrest my wife the other day and the rest I don't remember. I'm also unsure of how I got this black eye. Lol. (Of course yet again...I'm joking. She didn't hit me. I ran into a door. Lol)
  14. But....but...my hopes! lol.
  15. This is going to be better than GTA 7 by the time GTA 6 is close to release. Lcpdfr was a massive game changer for GTA IV and the only reason I even purchased a PC copy after owning it on PS3. If what I think is true about Lspdfr, and I know it is, we're probably going to be losing sleep, jobs, wives and girlfriends over this. Our faces will surely melt off our skulls once we get GTA V loaded up and activate the mod.
  16. No, no no, shhhh. Easy now. Take deep breaths. Do not doubt, young one. I remember long ago I was much like you. Doubting Lcpdfr. Then it was released, and we all saw the glory of it, and we all knew that it was good. Sam and the devs delivered, just as they promised. Peace and happiness spread across the land, and crops flourished and livestock grew and provided for us. It was then that I learned never to doubt or rush or ask for it would be provided to me in time. Lol, yep. I've lost it.
  17. Like I said, I think a large portion of the community will go absolutely beserker if they don't. At this point, the devs are almost obligated to release it today in order to maintain peace and prevent world war 3 from igniting. (Because my other posts have always been misunderstood, let me say that I am joking when I say they are obligated. They are of course not obligated to do anything at all. This is a free mod afterall.)
  18. C'mon, C'mon!!!!
  19. What's funny is I'm trying to figure out how to re-texture the "Obey and Survive" badges to something a little more community friendly to add just a speck of realism to my channel. It's hilarious because in GTA IV I had to change practically everything about the game. New peds, ELS, new cars, all destabilizing the game. Now, all GTA V's defaults are perfect except for that damn motto. If it could say a generic motto that is along the lines of real police departments goals of working with and for the community, I'd be a very happy camper. Hell, I know everyone hates the generic Police logo on the interceptors, but I'd take that over "Obey and Survive" It's great that the news update has got me thinking about stuff like this and not "I wonder if next month it'll be released."
  20. I really really really hope it's released tonight. However a lot of people are saying they would be mad if it's not released. I think the development team know when enough is enough, and so I don't think they'd continue to build up pressure in the community and continue to tease us, as most of us have already lost our minds waiting. I really do feel we'll be up all night playing Lspdfr in a few hours. If not, well, I fear the world might explode from all this pent up energy.
  21. I hate to be the penny that derails the train, but my GTA V on steam just updated with 16.7 MBs worth of something. I'm not getting my hopes up. I'd really like to be proven wrong though.
  22. I've been passing my time by playing GTA Online with a friend in a private, invite only session. We usually always have a lot of fun, but since this update we encountered numerous lag spikes and very very strange bugs/glitches. It's been really hit or miss lately with GTA Online. It was fun at first, but now it seems to be degrading in terms of playability. I say this because it's as if the update broke something, because thankfully we're so low level that we aren't bored of missions and the like yet and are no where near full rank. When I'm not playing GTA Online I find myself flying in Flight Simulator X using the Captain SIm 737-200 Freighter and the FsCaptain add on allowing me to track and rank up in a career mode simulation. Was kind of shocked when one of my 28,000 lbs of freight contained 3 caskets. Fun fact, apparently the deceased are shipped by air to distant burial sites all of the time. Who knew?
  23. Thank you for your calm reasoning and explanations, Sam. I appreciate it, and sorry I've practically derailed this whole topic. See what happens when I try to make a funny? The world explodes....yikes! We do need to get back to Lspdfr. Others have mentioned that it's almost finished. I'm shocked that in well under 24 hours everything broken related to the update was fixed! If only nations' gonvernments worked that way! There'd be no wars, ect. Astonishing work. At this rate I'd take a hopeful guess of the mod being released this weekend if the above comments of lspdfr's development being finished and only bug fixing/stability remains are true. Fingers crossed. Looking forward to more development news.
  24. Caps infested tirade? You have a curious definition of tirade and caps lock infestation. Perhaps my intentions were misunderstood, Sam. I was hoping to be funny with that post. I know you are basically God around here and perhaps I'm risking alot, but a tirade that was not, I'm sorry. I do not go on tirades. The day I go on a tirade is the day I am banned from this community and that is far from what I want to happen. I have been around for awhile, not the longest, but awhile, and usually I remain quiet, and with good reason. I'm not very good at expressing myself through text. I read and comprehend well, but this is why I stopped writing novels. I am just unable to clearly express my thoughts, ideas, and intentions using text only. I used a single line of caps stating "please do not ask for release dates" in an attempt to emphasize that point. Clearly, italics would have been the better choice. He was not asking how the patch affected development but rather for a release date. My post was simply asking others to stop asking for a release date, and mentioned how much that it had been stated no release date would be given. As I mentioned, some attempt at humor was made. Interesting how that became a tirade. My apologies. Also, sadly, I believe this is really the first time we've conversed together, Sam. Not the impression I'd like to give you of my personality, but alas, lack of descriptive powers and knowledge of knowing when to stay quiet. I'll go back to lurking quietly. Thank you for getting back to me and of course for your hard work with the mod. My YouTube channel is sort of my day job now, and LCPDFR has been a cornerstone of my channel and is what got me to where I am now. Along with myself, I know my subscribers are very much looking forward to seeing LSPDFR.
  25. Indeed. Alright then. I guess I'll double check some stuff, but unless I'm really trippin on something cool, I know I posted a response to someone, and it was even liked. Now said post is gone. Cool. Wonder what drug I accidentally took.
