Default Cop Walk Style Support? (move_m@cop)
You are exactly right, however it also does it for the default cop slot too. I just play tested this again real quick, and I noticed it is NOT after performing any LCPDFR animation like I had thought previously, it is only if you choose to take a hold of the suspect to move them yourself, or if you press and hold in ALT, such as ALT+E to report things to dispatch, and only if you are on foot. Basically, pressing in ALT in LCPDFR 1.0a will cause your selected ped to return to their default walk style. I don't know why. So if your chosen ped is in the fatcop slot, they will reset to the fatcop walk. If your chosen ped is Noose, they will go to the noose default walk, ect, ect. Dr. Detroit, try it when you get a chance. I bet even the ped you normally use will reset their walkstyle if you press down ALT to do status updates.

Default Cop Walk Style Support? (move_m@cop)
Does that walkstyle stay set for you as a player whenever you perform an action in LCPDFR? Because the walkstyles work just fine as long as the police are being used by the AI but the minute you perform an action in LCPDFR it automatically resets the players' walkstyle to the default for that particular ped.

Default Cop Walk Style Support? (move_m@cop)
I put in bold the problem. So basically, yes, even after placing the suspect in the car your walkstyle will still be reset. If you use the radio to update your status, it will reset your walkstyle. Doing anything that uses an animation in LCPDFR will reset your walkstyle and keep it reset. Sorry I'm not very clear on my descriptions. I may just upload a video to youtube showing the problem.

Tazer problem.
Oh shoot! I'm sorry. I guess I'm tired or wasn't paying enough attention. I got the OP confused with Figgis302's post. Somewhere along the line I thought the OP finally got the taser in-game but it wasn't appearing again suddenly. As for the borked text files, sadly, I don't have a solution for that one yet. Thanks for pointing that out, Ineseri, our awesome Ini file as NB called you, lol. Sorry to the OP. But, maybe Figgis302's problem could be solved. I'll start operating on accuracy by volume, AKA spray and pray policies. If I solve all of the problems, I'll eventually solve the CORRECT one....lol. EDIT: Okay, Officer Vic, have you tried right clicking on the gta.dat file and selecting open with and then choosing notepad? Or are you double clicking the file? Right clicking and telling the computer to open it with Notepad should prevent a random program from opening it and giving encoding errors. Also, in the open with dialog box you will have options to open the file with other programs and a small check box labeled "Always use this program to open files of this type" make sure that's clicked, as it will allow you to use Notepad to edit other game files and such. Probably something you've already tried, and this is assuming you have Windows 7. So my apologies if you've already tried this, but the error you showed in your original post looks like a program other than a text editor is trying to open that file.

Default Cop Walk Style Support? (move_m@cop)
Yeah, and I can set their walk style to whatever I like doing so, however the problem remains whenever you perform a police action. So say, for example, I'm using the female police peds, which I have replaced the fatcops with. I spawn the female ped. She will start walking as the fatcops did. I open the trainer, and set walkstyle to female multiplayer. The female ped will then walk just as I've set it and it seems the problem is solved...BUT then, for example if you arrest a person, and press E to take a hold of them and walk them to your police car, it immediately resets the walkstyle back to the fatcop. So the trainer seems to set the walk style like it always does, but the minute you perform an action in LCPDFR 1.0 your walk style gets reset again. Same for the male cops, whether it's arresting, holding suspects, frisking suspects, writing tickets or even just performing ID checks and traffic stops, any scripted LCPDFR exclusive animation will reset the walk style to default. Not necessarily game breaking, but I did enjoy being able to use the "move_player" walk style for the male police officers as they walk so much faster, even faster than when the ALT button is held down.

Tazer problem.
Do you, by chance, have a spotlight mod installed? I noticed that when I removed my spotlight mod, which required me to edit the image.txt file and add in the platform for the spotlight's "cone of light" to spawn in game, it was beneath the entry for the taser. So when I had this I couldn't use the taser. The moment I removed the spotlight's platform entry in images.txt my taser worked again. I even tried to reverse the order, essentially making sure that no matter what the line for the taser was the last entry in images.txt. However, even that didn't work. So basically it became a one or the other for me. Considering I find myself on nights more often, I opted to keep my spotlight mod, which means I can't use the taser. So, just some food for thought. Maybe anyone having trouble with their tasers not showing up in game have a spotlight mod or other "platform" entry line in the Images.txt file. The only way it will work for me is if the taser is the absolute last thing in images.txt after the platformimg:/data/maps/east/bronx_w2 0 line.

LCPDFR 1.0 The Mean Streets~Highlights
Hey guys. Here's some of the highlights of a patrol I did today. I followed the usual routine of the sector around Middle Park from the Quartz Street Precinct I like, and that is standard traffic stops, alley checks (drug dealers, users, and other trouble makers frequent these areas) a run or two around Middle Park's perimeter, and finally checking vendor's licenses to be sure they are allowed to sell. Mostly everything came up nice and clean, and the day was looking to be a slow one, right until someone jay-walked in front of me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iCaT5TrEa4&feature=c4-overview&list=UUd3iaAxgd4EV-SvS-17NXVQ

Default Cop Walk Style Support? (move_m@cop)
Anyone found a solution to this? I'm very curious about this as well, as I have female cops who spawn walking as the default female multiplayer ped, but whenever they perform an LCPDFR 1.0 action, they return to the fatcop walking style. It's kind of funny watching Sam's female police peds walking as the fatcop because it looks like they crapped themselves. Sadly, after about a minute the novelty wears off and I'd like them to keep their walk styles or be able to assign walk styles like back in 0.95.

NB's LCPDFR 1.0 videos!
Amazing and entertaining stuff as always! Your ENB makes the game look so great. I've never commented as much as I probably should have, so please forgive me, but I've been watching your videos for quite sometime, and it was you who brought me to LCPDFR. Thanks for sharing them and please keep up the great work! Also, I can't wait for Sam to release those police peds.

Car Tycoon
While unfortunately it seems Car Tycoon, released in 2003 may be dead and lost to the internet (searches on Good Old Games.Com and Gamers' Gate found nothing) there is an advertised spirtual successor to Car Tycoon called Automation. Seems like better graphics, and from my limited time spent looking at it like it is much more in-depth. (Screenshots show motor assemblies and other nitty-gritty type work). Perhaps this could be helpful and replace Car Tycoon (which may not run on newer OS's if it could be found.) http://automationgame.com/

LCPDFR is still a pain in the ass.
There's three simple solutions here. #1. Uninstall the mod. Get your money back---oh, wait, that's right. YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO BUY THIS PRODUCT. #2. Play something else. #3. Perhaps you could do one better? I'm curious to see your super stable all encompassing fully functioning police mod done in one try on the exact date you specify a month in advance. You build one better. Oh, and your mod can't charge a single f*%#ing dime. Otherwise, it's no longer a community mod, it's payware. I don't see you stepping up to bank hours upon hours upon years of your free time on something for absolutely nothing in return except whiny little brats. We all like this mod, that's clear to see. I think it's like a drug at this point. They released 1.0 and everyone installed it and saw exactly how awesome it is. Then, when faced with problems, these people were not able to play and "get their fix" and so as the result of withdrawal from this drug people become irritable, cranky, and demanding, ultimately forgetting how much hard work went into the mod to bring it as far as it has come. I know patience is hard to practice, but that's all it comes down to at this point. We all just need to chill, respect and appreciate what we have so far, and wait for more fixes. It's not like the development team has said officially that no more work will be going into LCPDFR at this point. To my understanding their still working on more fixes for the other problems. We just have to wait.

'Freval' error fix progress?
I have a lot of the Freval errors as well and for me adding the PreloadAllModels=True to the [Main] section in the LCPDFR ini file really helped to stabilize my game immensely. Since I added it I actually played without crashes for over an hour. I actually ended up quitting because the scripts for the Police Helper mod crashed before LCPDFR did. Even with police helper's script crashes, LCPDFR didn't crash to desktop. I would suggest everyone try this little command line, until the developers can find the source of the freval error. With the preloadmodels command, I notice my LCPDFR logs are still sporting the freval error, but I'm no longer CTD-ing because of it. Hopefully we'll have another hotfix and they can stop that non-existent model spawning.

Constant Lag Spikes
What is your detail distance settings? I read that whenever you turn those down, quite contrary to every other game on the planet for PC where this would increase your FPS, in the crappy PC port that is GTA it actually causes lag spikes and massive FPS loss. I too record with the resource hogging FRAPs, and so at some point I ended up tweaking my graphics settings and turned my detail distance down from 100 to 30. Then I began a horrid cycle of about 10-20 second long lag cycles that was maddening and would ruin almost anything. I searched over a period of two days before I found some hidden away forum (sorry can't recall the name and not about to relive that search) that said one should try increasing their detail distance back to 100. I now have set my detail and view distance settings to 100 each. View distance is less important, but for me the detail distance was the culprit. Try increasing detail distance to max 100 and see if your lag spikes still occur. I had them really bad around Middle Park. If this doesn't solve the problem, I apologize. Good luck! Hope to hear back.

Thanks! I just hope it helps. Btw, I don't know if I said so, but I really appreciated the help you gave me in my support request.

1.0 request
Yeah, I'm still running searches now. Perhaps I was just dreaming up awesome stuff, but I thought it was included. I apologize if I'm wrong but I haven't finished searching yet. I'll post back ASAP when and if I find anything. EDIT: I think I found the answer here in this topic...post # 28 on the second page: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> from that post: with LCPD:FR 1.0 computer works adding the right AdditionalCopCarModels value in lcpdfr.ini, depending on the car

1.0 request
I'm by no means an expert, but didn't LCPDFR 1.0 come with some coding in the .ini file to tell it's police computer to become available on the police 3, police 4, and police b vehicle slots? (So you can now have a functioning police bike in GTA IV without needing EFLC) ? I swore I read something about that, and I just looked through my .ini file and it's not there...but I think something was mentioned in the release notes.

Game Crash On Drug Deal Callout 1.0a
I did happen to have one mugging call out where I saw the victim running towards me, as they always do. However, this one's torso was bent. It was...it looked like something from a horror movie and I'm sad to say I about pissed myself and nearly shot this "victim." I immediately called an ambulance for that person and proceeded on foot to the "mugger." When I caught up to the "mugger" I ended up letting him go as I felt, based on the fact that he was exhibiting early signs of shock, that he was only engaging in self-defense. The "victim" was checked out by the EMTs who were baffled as to how they were still alive. Soon, FIB showed up, said that the LCPD had no authority or jurisdiction over the current situation, cordoned off the area, and took the "victim" off in an unmarked black truck. I have not seen such a case since. LOL Anyways...I believe the root of all of my problems lately with LCPDFR has been the lack of the Preload Models command line in the Main section of the LCPDFR.ini I switched back to the default pistol and received a shots fired call-out. When I arrived on scene I began to take fire. I took cover, began returning fire, and called for noose back up and my game froze. So, staying with the default pistol I also enabled the Preload Models commandline. I have just played over an hour without incident, finally quitting when the Police Helper scripts ended up crashing, and I was too lazy to reload scripts. I received multiple call-outs, and completed each one without a crash or error. (Including 3 mugging call-outs with no horrendous bent torso victims. lol) While I never did receive a drug deal call out (the only one I got this session immediately went code 4 as I responded) I did receive multiple drunk driver, and drive by shooting call-outs, both of which used to crash me when I would catch up to the pursuit. In fact, the drive by would crash as soon as the criminals would shoot at me. This time I was able to shoot back, and neutralize both suspects. I also did tons of traffic stops, and eventually had one person open fire on me during the stop. None of this crashed my game like it used to. I performed multiple on-foot arrests of drunks, street vendors without vending licenses, ANPR tagged vehicles were called in and towed, lots of activity like I never could before. I think the best answer for me and anyone else having crashes on call-outs would be to try enabling the Preload Models command line. It seems to have worked for me.

Game Crash On Drug Deal Callout 1.0a
Very true, and I definitely appreciate the community, and the developers. I did not mean to sound like the developers of LCPDFR owed me anything at all. And I'd also like to offer my apologies. I understand that they are using their free-time to develop this incredibly wonderful modification for absolutely nothing in return but the thanks of the users. So I'm very sorry if I sounded demanding. I enjoy the modification so much that I guess I have an overwhelming urge to play it and I guess I got impatient. It's like a drug, lol. This community doesn't need people that feel that the world owes them, and I certainly don't want to become one of those people, so yeah...I'll work on not being a monumental jerk, and I hope you can forgive me for sounding like one. Lol. Unfortunately, work has kept me quite busy in the last few days and so I haven't had the opportunity to test out LCPDFR again with the vanilla ped and gun files, so I'm still hoping to report back with my findings.

Paramedic drives like an asshat.
I have to agree with you there. Thankfully, PoliceHelper seems to work just fine with LCPDFR 1.0. Especially if you disable world events and traffic events in the policehelper.ini file. I use police helper for the traffic cones, fire extinguisher, checking the ID of street vendors (shows if they even have a vending license) and taxi cab drivers (shows if they have a valid taxi license). And of course, calling an ambulance. The way the paramedics are handled are great. You call them on scene, they arrive in a much quicker fashion, do not mash the hell out of everything in their path, and if the person is dead, they can remove the body. I don't play LCPDFR without it.

Game Crash On Drug Deal Callout 1.0a
Thanks for the reply, Luke! I was starting to get a bit anxious. Anyways, I'm really curious to know what it could be trying to spawn that isn't there... And I've noticed in the last few instances I have crashed (that was NOT in response to a drug deal callout) it was producing the same sort of error messages. So it appears that LCPDFR 1.0 is trying to spawn some sort of model that isn't there. In all the cases where I have randomly crashed, it has been right as a weapon was fired at me. I have modified the default pistol in the game. No sound mods, no magazine capcity mods, just basically a retexturing of the default pistol to a Beretta 92F. I'm beginning to wonder if that may be the root of my crashes. Otherwise the pistol works just fine and I can use it as a player, as do the other AI police. The only other thing I've modified was my police officers themselves, but the crashes caused by modified peds was resolved in the Hotfix. So now, I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps my 6 gigabytes of DDR3 ram is not fast enough for LCPDFR 1.0 to load in a model as it requests it, resulting in a crash, with the error message about a missing model. Do you think if I add the preloadmodels command line to my LCPDFR config file that it could possibly resolve this error? Have you tried that in your game? I'll try preloading models, and report back. If that fails to resolve the problem, I'll switch back to the default pistol textures. Upon failure of that, I may go back to default peds. (Though I dislike Rockstar's so much in comparison to F5544's Improved Cop I may just learn to live with the crashes.)

GTA V Police Cruiser in GTA IV
Yeah, I downloaded it as it's awesome to see GTA V's stuff is convertable. Never would have imagined! But I don't know if I'll actually use it, Ekalb, as I am still using your version of the SAPD Vapid Cruiser in my own custom livery. I love that car. Great on the frame rate, and it still looks outstanding and is just too much fun to drive around in. Love the lightbar you have on it. I don't think I can replace it, as it's both my Police 1 and Police 2 slot.

Game Crash On Drug Deal Callout 1.0a
Hey guys. I spent awhile searching to see if I could find a topic related to mine, but so far have missed any. If this is super common, you have my apologies. I'm running LCPDFR 1.0 with the Hotfix which has helped my game immensely. However, I am still getting a crash to desktop when I accept the drug deal callouts. It always happens the same way. The game is running super smooth and stable. I can do traffic stops, arrests, call for prisoner transports, take arrested suspects to stations myself, perform other callouts, and have no issues. Then I get a callout for a drug deal, accept, run to the crime scene, one of the dealers takes a shot and my game freezes and then crashes to desktop. My computer specs: Windows 7 64 bit Home Professional Quadcore Intel i7-2630QM @ 2.0 GHZ with Turbo Boost to 3.0 GHZ and Hyperthreading 6 Gigabytes of RAM Nvidia Geforce GTX 560M at 1 Gigabyte of VRAM. Attached are the logs: AdvancedHook.log LCPDFR.log I have all the updated .NET Frameworks and other requirements for LCPDFR as I followed the links posted here in the support forums to make sure visual basic, and what-not were properly updated. I have a legitimate Steam copy of GTA IV (No expansion packs) updated to 1.7.0 EDIT: I should also mention I am running game as administrator, read only has been unchecked from my main GTA IV folder, and I have shut off User Account Control. Thanks in advance.
