  1. I know this particular post is off topic but how come my posts are being removed from this thread? I've stayed on topic in all my other posts. Censorship?
  2. Why did Rockstar lie to us? Because they're a multi billion dollar corporation in it for whatever money they can get. They say they love modders but that's only to save face and sell more copies of the game. Meanwhile they are laughing all the way to the bank in their solid gold jets smoking giant Cuban cigars, sipping champagne surrounded by money sluts. They don't give a squirt of piss for their customers. That's why.
  3. I like Shadow's attitude here. He's keeping the peace by moving the subject back to lspdfr...like a peace officer! Hmm...lol Good work, star recruit for the dangerous streets of Los Santos! It's very difficult to remain patient when you're a big fan of something as ground breaking as lspdfr, but some of the above comments (I won't name names as I don't want to start a flame war) made me frown a bit. However, I would be a liar if I said I'm not also frustrated when it wasn't released this weekend, but we should all remember that the team is small and extremely underpaid for what they're accomplishing. Underpaid as in not paid at all. So I try to keep that in mind before I let my frustration get the better of me and I write something I know I'll soon regret. With that being said, I quoted Shadow because I think this energy we have pent up inside is better spent on daydreaming what cool new features we're all soon going to be able to play with. As shadow suggests, I feel that arresting is going to be mind blowing in a side-by-side comparison to lcpdfr, and we know arrests are the bread and butter, so we can expect those. The first video showed off the improved police AI in vehicle pursuits, so we can definitely expect traffic stops/pursuits at least on par with lcpdfr, but I suspect they will be 1,000 times better in lspdfr. Features I'm praying are in this first release are definitely some sort of MDT or MDC (police computer in car) that will allow us to work with the general public and perform warrant checks/arrests. I'm pretty sure this will be in lspdfr. What I REALLY want to see in lspdfr are on-foot id checks and ticketing much like lcpdfr. This is, however, because I'm lazy and don't feel like walking back to my cruiser over and over when I have multiple suspects to ID check. However, if I can have lspdfr as soon as I feel I will, walking back and forth won't stifle my enthusiasm. Besides, it's a video game. Walking back and forth in a video game never hurt anyone. Except the extremely pale guy who should go outside and exercise (me) I know we're going to have some really cool callouts by default, and I'm excited to see those and I hope they are a bit different from lcpdfr. I think in lspdfr there should definitely be more domestic calls and I think something really amazing would be some sort of way for the mod to detect day of the week and time of day in-game. Why? Imagine a Saturday night on patrol in Los Santos. Bar fights, drug deals, prostitution----Los Santos is based on Los Angeles. A gigantic american city. I live in a VERY small town in the US and Saturday night's see our own small town make Liberty City look tame. I can't fathom how insane a Saturday night must be in LA, let alone Los Santos. I also hope to see more mundane police work intermixed with the action packed callouts featured in lcpdfr. Traffic redirection, Wellness Checks, Tourists needing directions, serving court appearance mandates (different from a warrant, usually for divorcees) vandalism. Trespassing, drunken disturbances, House robberies and of course all the minimart/gas stations sprinkled throughout Los Santos would probably see some attention from shoplifters/armed robbers. Here's hoping my fellow officers. Are we prepared for the streets of Los Santos? I have a feeling I'm not, and I spent a lot of time on the beat in Liberty.
  4. Sounds like LSPDFR was going to be released and then Rock star is sending out a patch that broke something. At least, that's my thought. However, as an owner of the steam version of GTA 5, I hope I can choose not to download the patch and still be able to play the game. Or have I just completely misunderstood Sam's "hint" about release of LSPDFR?
  5. Lol, indeed I definitely understood the sattire for the LCPD badge. It IS funny, but as I said, I like to make my games realistic, and speaking strictly from a realistic standpoint, I imagine realistically people wouldn't be too receptive to seeing that on law enforcement officials. I feel policing is all about winning the hearts and minds of the general public, something I think the law enforcement agencies in the US have been falling down on. There's so much cop hate it's sickening. However, The LSPD's badge motto of "Obey and Survive" is very definitely an accurate dig at the LAPD, especially with the recent trigger happiness I've seen in the news headlines. (I feel as though I'm not well enough informed to go into that, and I don't mean to offend anyone on either side of the issue, because, frankly, I don't give a damn. I'm just here to play vidya games) If modding GTA V is anything like GTA IV, using something like OpenIV/SparkIV, it should be a cinch to modify the existing paintjobs. Just clone stamp out the phrase "Obey and Survive" with something more appropriate, save, and boom. Done. However, I have a bad feeling GTA V will not be so easy to access texture files with. I haven't attempted to mod GTA V yet, as the recent virus scare on such brand new mods for the PC port have kind of discouraged me.
  6. Ya know the one thing that has pre-occupied my mind whilst wondering when LSPDFR is going to be released? If I can change the skins on the police vehicles. There's nothing wrong with the Vapid Police Interceptor, but the Vapid Stainer Cruiser (Crown Vic) has the LSPD logo that says "Obey and Survive" which I dislike. I'm one of those strange individuals that wants a somewhat realistic police representation in the game, and so I want the LSPD officers to try to have a friendly and approachable appearance in public, much like most police forces in the world. I always modified paintjobs in GTA IV because I hated the original LCPD badge that shows riot gear officers dragging a man away. I always used more realistic badges and such. Sadly, I never could paint from scratch. Normally I would tweak pre-existing paintjobs to my liking (of course never releasing them and only keeping them for personal use, since the work wasn't my own) I just hope GTA V is as easy to modify paintjobs as GTA IV was. I also noticed that the Vapid Police Interceptor has it's unit numbers printed on the roof, which is a great touch, up until you release that there are 10 unit 32's in the same area. So I'd like to remove numbers and replace it with a simple printed "PATROL" on the roof. I like the police vehicles in GTA V so much, that other than those tweaks I mentioned, I probably won't even have to download car mods or anything else. Just the LSPDFR mod itself. So excited, I hope the wait is nearing it's end!
  7. Also, if GTA Online really becomes an issue with trying to play LSPDFR online with clans, we can always go back to the very very old school of gaming. That is, message forums like this one where you can post shift reports and arrest reports and stuff. Not as great as being in direct communication with your friends online and being able to actually physically help one another if needed, but it's still something to build a community around. I'm curious to know why Rockstar doesn't just make it like the old GTA IV online (No, not the horrendous stability issues) in terms of you could only join a session with someone who had the same mods, or else you'd be kicked from the host's session. I just came from a GTA Online private session with a friend, where only myself and my friend were connected to one another and no one else could join. If we both had LSPDFR installed, what would stop us from playing online other than Rockstar's extreme anti-modding stance? If we tried to connect to anything but a session created by one another I think the best solution would be just kicking us from public play, yet allow us our private sessions just as they have it now.
  8. Sounds glorious. I'm salivating because of how much this mod will help out my YouTube channel. So many people will be interested and my view count will go up, which in the long run will help pay the bills. Gonna be great with so many options and ways to play.
  9. That's very likely the scenario. It makes lots of sense, and really, if you consider it, June is not all that far away. I had forgotten about that second follow-up video as well. Yikes. See, folks, this is what happens when I run out of coffee. I'm off to the store.
  10. Yes, if only my brain had stopped long enough to consider that, lol. I'm just slowly losing my mind with the intense excitement I have for this mod. Can't wait for it to be released, it's looking more and more fantastic each and every informational post you guys give us. Thank you tons, and please don't mistake my excitement for impatience, as it probably seems that way. I'm willing to wait as long as it takes, I just got my hopes up today for some strange reason, lol.
  11. I tried to log into the website this morning and the site was down, stating something along the lines of maintenance. I mean, that's happened plenty of times before, so it means nothing, right? I don't know why, but they way it was worded made it seem like the site was taken down to upload LSPDFR's first release in my crazy mind, and I about had a coronary from excitement. I figured they timed the release to coincide with Memorial Day weekend, lol. Damn, it's getting so hard to wait. So excited for this mod, thank you guys!
  12. OMG! A functioning hand held flashlight!!! I hate having to use my cruiser's alley light or just blatantly aim a weapon with a flashlight attachment at innocents just to be able to see them for ID checks/Frisks on foot. If I'm not making too many assumptions based on that screenshot I am going to be one very, very happy patrolman. I do have a question about it, aside from the obvious questions of does it actually work on foot and is selectable like any other gun/taser...can we use it as a weapon if necessary? I know in real life cops carry those heavy duty maglites not just to see in the dark...they make excellent make-shift batons. You guys are the best! Thanks for the update Keep up the amazing work!
  13. I think the lightbar animations in GTA V look really good for being vanilla. Don't get me wrong, I've been a very dedicated ELS user in GTA IV since they fixed the door bug, but that's because vanilla GTA IV's emergency lights animations/corona/bloom effects are laughable. If they include light mode toggling in LSPDFR like they did in LCPDFR, I will keep 5's vanilla light animations. Plus, it'll be easier on the system too with less outside material to render.
  14. Indeed the screenshots are absolutely astounding. I'm drooling on myself and shaking like some sort of addict. It's official. I have a very strong physical NEED to play LSPDFR and I especially can't wait to do some YouTube videos on it. Keep up the great work guys, and thanks for keeping us informed!
  15. God, I'm so excited for this! I just got GTA V for PC today as a birthday gift. I'm trying to patiently await the release of LSPDFR. It's gonna be amazing, thank you devs and everyone else behind the scenes for all your hard and sometimes thankless work.
  16. Using this one for awhile now. Smoothest one yet for my PC, runs like glass and looks absolutely stellar. Thank you for all the hard work.
  17. Thanks for the extremely fast reply, Luke! I've been out of school for a very long time now, and stupidly, I might add, I never decided to take my education any further than High School, so I tend to completely forget about school and the scheduling involved. I guess that speaks for my selfishness and being within my own little world. I wish you the very best of luck with your exams, and I understand completely why you need to pause development. Your education is something that far exceeds a game in importance! Lol. Thank you for the very fast reply. I look forward to updates when and if they come. I also feel I should apologize in case it did indeed seem like I was rushing or pushing development. That was not my intention. More than anything I was curious to know if I had borked something on my end. Anyways, before I ramble on some more, I appreciate the heads up! Thank you.
  18. Yeah, I don't understand the issue with Callouts+ and the shots fired callout generated by LCPDFR. I removed all my gun mods and weapon mods, and have little to no script mods and simple police vehicles. Using Callouts+ the game works great, right until LCPDFR decides to issue a shots fired call. The second I arrive on scene my game will crash to desktop. If I remove Callouts+ I can spawn back to back to back shots fired calls arrive, and complete them with weapons mods, sound mods, car mods, police ped mods, lots of horrible bad for stability stuff. I just tested this yesterday. Unfortunately, I eliminated every possible culprit that could have crashed the game with a shots fired call. Callouts+ became the culprit which is extremely sad because the rest of the mod is absolutely amazing and if it's not installed I find my game incredibly lacking. I love being able to call in to receive vehicle details, and being able to question and breathalyze suspects in your car is a very awesome touch. Not to mention most of the other callouts are pretty cool and add some unique flavor to LCPDFR. I don't want to sound impatient or demanding, especially since I can't provide too much information to pinpoint a probable causation of the crash, but I am posting to learn if any new progress has been made by anyone on determining why Callouts+ is crashing the game when LCPDFR spawns a shots fired call. Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer some insight, and also a big thanks to LukeD for the unique mod. I really hope I can find what the issue is so I can keep using it!
  19. I would definitely consider it, especially because further down in the article it said coldness even cold meals and physical exertion are the main contributing factors. So if you were outside in the cold, shoveling snow, (which is a very difficult job) you'd match most of that. With a history of heart complications in your family, I'd definitely recommend you talk to a doctor.
  20. Have you heard of Angina? (I know...it sounds like something else, but I'm trying to be serious) Basically from my very limited knowledge read as: NOT A DOCTOR angina is this: Intense pain that manifests itself in the chest area that can very closely resemble heart attack pain. It's usually brought on by stress, and that can also be translated into physical exertion. So I'd ask a real doctor about that, as sometimes it's a condition that needs to be treated with regular medication. EDIT: Found an article on wikipedia about it. I know it's janky because it's wikipedia, but should give you an idea of what I'm trying to explain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angina_pectoris
  21. That's the exact mod I had in my game a while back well before we hit lcpdfr 1.0D. I uninstalled it way back then because the walkie talkie animation would play over and over and became just as annoying as the crotch squeeze, but I notice it's been updated an the radio spam is said to be cut down. I'll give it another shot again, but I was curious to know if any more exist. I think this may be the only one in existence.
  22. Haha, this is very definitely true. However, I think LCPDFR has certainly changed me, because I have this weird obession with realism and yet I'm a contradiction of myself because I refuse to use real branded police vehicles, instead sticking to the fictional vehicles of the game's canon...I don't even know where to begin on how messed up my brain probably is, lol. It'd be great if we could find it. I haven't tried much of an off-site search, since I really like sticking to lcpdfr.com for all of my police mods. I might "cheat" and check GTA IV Mods and other sites. Google searches led me back here and didn't really seem to promise much hope elsewhere.
  23. Hey guys... I've been doing some searches on the forums because I'm looking for a mod that makes the officer's Niko crotch grab animation stop. Seriously, it's really annoying. If I saw an officer adjusting his belt and honking his crotch every three seconds I'd call the police on him. I only know of one script in the downloads' section here which is called the idle animations script and I THINK it stopped that, (I don't remember) but I stopped using that one a while back because I also tired of my officer using the radio every 3 seconds...and this was also long before the release of 1.0, let alone 1.0D. So, I'm unsure if it will even work anymore. I have SNT installed and have tried changing the officers' walk style to that of different characters, and it works for a time, unless your character performs an LCPDFR specific action like frisking a suspect, or handcuffing, and then the mod resets the walkstyle back to the Officer Fondle walkstyle. (I tried to make a funny....it'll never happen again...) Thanks in advance for any information.
  24. Any department who would discipline a uniformed officer for uttering a "naughty" word over the radio after having been SHOT IN THE HEAD and is still performing his duty should be boycotted and the upper ranking staff fired and new staff brought in. The officer sustaining the wound should be made the chief. He damn well better not have been disciplined for cursing. This man is a Robo Cop, freakin unstoppable. I sincerely hope the officer was able to show up at the suspects trial and just sit there, smiling at him, not breaking eye contact. You know that scumbag would be crapping on himself and would be totally mind boinked... lol
  25. You know that guy rocks his job, saves lives, then goes home and nails his super model wife and has a sammich. Totally awesome!
