  6. After you've installed ELS, you open the els.ini, look for noose and polpatriot and change the value "file".

  10. Very old mod indeed. But still can be found on gtainside: http://www.gtainside.com/download.php?do=comments&cat=324&start=0&id=35175&orderBy=
  11. I can't remember, but I use my own adaptions for ELS anyways.
  12. A small change for my redisitribute terms, to make it easier for everybody: If you upload one of my cars within the same website I've originally uploaded it, you don't need permission. But complete and correct credits always have to be given. That means you only need to ask before considering uploading to a different website, because some mods may be exclusive. This applys to all my locked cars released before, even if their readme says something different. Unlocked cars still have the same rules as before. And for anybody interested in the LAPD Pack: I'm still testing it, I don't know when I'm going to release it.

  13. I just don't see a problem with people making the cars they want to. If they don't want to learn how to model or convert and simply try to recreate their home department's CVPI with Liberty, rambar and grilllights, why don't just let them? Is it wrong to let people choose their cars from a larger variety?
  14. Kevin still creates and releases mods, EVI works on cars and plans to release as well. Lt.Caine and Bxbugs are releasing again, only aznairsoftdude left, but not because too many guys released CVPIs. It just seems like I'm not the only one who took a break. And how do you gain skills? Only by experience. Modding is supposed to be fun, not everybody has to create high quality mods. My first mod was an Admiral with box lights I modeled and a completely screwed handling. Telling somebody to stop working on a model, just because one person says it's low quality, is wrong, how else do you learn? For those guys who want to use different vehicles: Three possibilities, all of them mentioned before: 1. Find a modder who creates it. (Likely impossible) 2. Model or convert it yourself. 3. Forget about it. Most departments use CVPI, and as most people try to recreate cars they like, you'll have a lot CVPI models. And apart from the typical "first-mod" thing, CVPI with Liberty and GoRhino, you won't find a lot variants of the exactly same car. If somebody now thinks about NYPD or LAPD, they're actually all different. We now have three CVPI models with probably 5 templates, there're so many different lightbars, so many ways to setup patterns, they have to be different. And what's wrong with using unlocked models? The most things I use are either models from friends or small things I made myself. I don't like converting at all, I've converted an Impala, that's it. But, and that seems to be the difference, I edit a model until I'm happy with it. If somebody gives me a Tahoe, an Interceptor or a Charger and I notice something doesn't work the way it's supposed to, I don't say yeah, the original author did it wrong, I try to fix it. But if there're wrong normals like with the 2013 Charger hood, what is nearly impossible to fix without the actual working model, you have to live with it. If somebody doesn't like it, he'll have to use a different model. If there're no alternatives, well, that sucks then. Then you'll have to go back to the three possibilites mentioned above. Critics are important, for any kind of creative work. If you see something is wrong, tell the author. If he changes it, you're lucky, if not, ignore it. And I'm talking about small changes, not a different model or whatever. An author usually knows what he's trying to create. It seems like beginners recieve two kinds of input: People saying it's exactly what they were waiting for and other guys complaining about the fact only unlocked models have been used. Well, and then somebody tries to model his own lights and everybody complains it's just a box. Long story short: Everybody makes what he wants to, but with their limited possibilities. If you don't like it, don't use it and don't complain. Doesn't matter if you make mods yourself or not.
  15. The other Freedom models I know are also pieced together, though using an Edge instead a Liberty as base. By the way, what's the size of a Firetruck Freedom? I've actually only seen Mini Freedoms or, on vans, not trucks, Freedoms with one additional LED. Though, I'm pretty sure, none of them are available unlocked. You'll have to edit one of those posted.
  16. The title is fine in my opinion, as it is an actual car. Even though he only changed textures.
