  1. That's not what +ext_script is. +ext_script is an option in vehicles.ide that says, basically, "the extras on this car are for the use of a script". There are other flags about extras; for example, +ext_requi says "require extras on this car". It isn't an ELS feature, it's a GTA feature.
  2. How's that fix it? It's an issue with the extras system, not the script (even if ELS is disabled for a particular model, it still spawns with random lights). About +ext_script: I vaguely recall enabling that and it not quite working.
  3. On the other hand, it'd probably be nice as a learning experience (and keybindings *would* be convenient).
  4. I never got all the Vista hate. It always worked well for me, and XP was just *painful* after trying Vista.
  5. Do NOT save your game while you are in a police uniform. It will corrupt the save file. AFAIK, you can save after you go off-duty and change back to Niko (or Luis, etc.) Don't quote me on that, though.
  6. @Rollyhood: You can't do this for vehicles yet, as OpenIV can't export .wft files to openFormats. To stop it from becoming a .txt, put quotes around the filename in the save dialog. @Smiley: Yes, it does. Just do this on the pedprops model, not the cop model.
  7. MODERATOR NOTICE Topic moved to Content Mods.
  8. Those aren't LCPDFR features. "Day 1" type things are people adding context to their videos - they are roleplaying, not just using LCPDFR features.
  9. MODERATOR NOTICE Moved to LCPDFR Discussion.
  10. Not really. Anything with anywhere near the polish of RAGE takes loads of time and money. Keep in mind, RAGE was the full-time job of a pretty large number of professional game designers. The LCPDFR devs do it in their spare time for free. It's not really possible to get from here to there. About things like Doom and Facebook: Doom may have been good when it came out, but try playing it now. Facebook today is far more advanced than Facebook back when it started; the starting product couldn't be nearly as popular as it is now. Polish matters. It is also time-consuming and expensive.
  11. I know that the anonymity mattered a lot when there was negative rep, to prevent retaliation. Now that that's gone, I can't see retaliation being as much of an issue.
  12. Windows 7 for desktop (which is where I play games), Ubuntu with GNOME fallback mode for my laptop.
  13. OK, two things. One on-topic, one off-. On-topic: I'm not saying you shouldn't suggest these things (though these suggestions *do* belong in Content Mods, where I will now move the thread). I'm saying that I wouldn't like to see *all* modders do it like this. Just because I don't like the suggestion, doesn't mean you need to get defensive - I personally disagree with it, but that doesn't make it a bad suggestion. The only issue with it is when you say "everyone" should do it. Off-topic: I'm finding it sort of a chore to read some of your posts. Could you please try to make your posts conform more to standard English? Spelling, punctuation, and capitalization are all great tools to use to make posts easier to read.
  14. But it's still a rifle. A very high-powered rifle, but still a rifle. Not a missile.
  15. The NYPD clarified that he's talking about .50 cal sniper rifles: http://defensetech.org/2011/09/26/the-nypd-has-air-to-air-assets/
  16. You said that "every one" should begin doing cars like this. However, in a lot of areas, your suggested replacement is unrealistic. That's what I'm getting at. It isn't about options ingame: given how ELS works, there is no way to do your suggestion without kind of annoying those who don't want it. It's about options *when picking a model*.
  17. Remember that the military and CIA are legally prohibited from enforcing laws in the US (Coast Guard notwithstanding). I'm not under the impression that the police use missiles or any sort of automated weaponry (*automated*, not *automatic*).
  18. I'm fine with drones for surveillance. Remember that drones are, in principle, basically R/C planes. Just, you know, the big expensive kind that (because the government's buying it) costs more than what it took to liberate France. A drone used for surveillance is a police helicopter but cheaper (because helicopter pilots are expensive). Now, I don't support arming them, but police shouldn't be firing weapons from helicopters anyway (Coast Guard/maritime enforcement notwithstanding)
  19. I'd love to see that feature as well (and I think I've actually asked for it in the past). Especially in EFLC, it just always uses police4. My police4 is often a sports car with police equipment; I don't think cops normally use unmarked Mustangs to pick up prisoners.
  20. I wouldn't call this a "great defense of liberty". He's taking a stand, but I'd say that a "great defense" has to be at least mildly successful. A one-senator filibuster isn't going to be even mildly successful.
  21. All vehicles in GTA are capped at 4 seats, including driver. The pstockade would actually work just as well as a bus for moving prisoners.
  22. The way requests normally work is that you post what you want, and someone might make it. You don't just say "I need a request done" and wait for someone to contact you. There are exceptions, but they're rare.
  23. Be careful before saying things aren't real. Every police department in the country can pick their own emergency lighting scheme. Where I live, cops pretty much always have the whole lightbar on. Also, for that reason, be careful before saying "every ELS maker should do this". Not all departments do lights the same way. Not all modelers should do lights the same way.
