  1. The thread lock was because we didn't offer support until a day or two ago, when Sam reopened the support forum.
  2. Harper: Like literally everything with US police, it depends on the department. Some don't let you have visible tattoos, but one of my driver's ed instructors was a US Park Police motor officer who had full sleeves (she said it was actually useful when she was working a bike rally detail - the bikers were more likely to accept her). Fun fact: The reason the New Jersey State Police don't have a short sleeved uniform is that many of the first troopers were former soldiers and had tattoos, and Col. Schwarzkopf didn't want the tattoos to show.

  4. The internal policy isn't for you guys to follow. It's for us to follow when we're carrying out moderation tasks.
  5. Actually, only a staff member can close a thread. As NB said, our internal policy is now to only close threads that violate the Community Guidelines. We no longer close just because the OP requested.
  6. I'll second the "LMS is awesome". The amount of help he gives scripters is just huge.
  7. That doesn't mean we close it. The OP doesn't own a thread; the community does. We only close if it breaks community rules. MODERATOR NOTICE This is not the place to argue about this policy. Keep this thread on-topic.

  10. Models aren't made for slots; "converting" one to a different slot literally consists of just renaming the file. When people talk about converting models, they really mean converting them from a different game (like GTA:SA). It seems like you want to do minimal work in making the model. While I understand the temptation, finding pre-made things is not the way to learn to model.
  11. Every Rockstar model is unlocked.
  12. That just means you Alt+Tabbed out and back in. It's not an unusual message. Which ASI loader do you have?
  13. SMPA60 seems to generally be related to when GTA calls a specific saved car. That could be when you have a safehouse, but it could maybe also be emergency backup.
  14. Again, I'd have to say that Abraxas is dead wrong in his assessment of his coding skills. He's said he isn't that good a coder, but he actually is *absolutely* that good a coder.

  16. C++ lets you do more (C# is restricted, IIRC; C++ lets you directly screw with memory). However, C++ also makes you curl up and cry after getting the 500th unexplainable error. Your call.

  18. You don't need to delete original files. It's literally drag and drop. Open, select file, click "Edit mode", drag in the files you want. It even auto-saves. And you don't need to close before running GTA.
  19. Sheriffs and deputies are law enforcement officers, and in some states, the generic term is "police officer". However, they almost never refer to themselves that way: they call themselves deputies and work for the sheriff, as opposed to police officers who work for the police department.

  21. Can you actually post the diagnostics log?
  22. Care to say here, so other people can see it too?
