Suspects don't shoot their guns

Featured Replies

Title says it all, armed suspects don't shoot from their vehicles (the standard pursuit from LSPDFR) I installed some additional callouts and sometimes the peds shoot and sometimes they just aim at you until you shoot first or until your patrol buddy shoots first etc. I remember in 0.3 armed suspects shot whilst being chased, now they just sit in their vehicles until they crash etc. This also happens for suspects who are on foot. They just aim at me and won't shoot. Quite annoying as it makes the experience predictable and no difficulty level at all. Please help.

I'd certainly be keen for more information on this from someone in the know. The fleeing suspects in vehicles used to sometimes shoot back at you, and that was an engaging mechanic to play. But I think since the last major update they don't shoot anymore, they just point their guns.
Did the devs disable this to stop the AI sniping people? They did have insane accuracy but this could be tempered with Accuracy scripts. And now that LSPDFR has the Tracking pursuit functionality I think there's a large gameplay element missing now. I'd love the option to re-enable pursuit shooting if it exists.

This just started to happen to me with the new update, and I have no clue how to fix it.  I've uninstalled the game and lspdfr and no luck. This is the only forum I can find on this subject. If anyone have any ideas please lmk!

You'll all be pleased to know that  Build 7874 now also includes a fix for NPCs not shooting their weapons. So the "suspects aim at me but don't shoot" issue should now be resolved. I can't comment on the shooting from vehicles during chases as I haven't properly tested.

Happy Policing! 🙂

Remember: Always use a mods folder!

This thread was originally not actually referring to the new (now fixed) bug where suspects aimed their guns but didn't shoot. It was referring to a change made in older versions which removed the feature where suspects would shoot at you from their cars whilst driving. I believe that the shooting whilst fleeing mechanic has since been reimplemented as I've since had people shoot at me on traffic stops. But I've not seen the old "shooting from a van whilst fleeing" behavior since much older versions of LSPDFR so either that was never re-added or plugin devs aren't using it.
