  1. I thought Jay said car mods will always crash you due to GTA not comprehending them? That didn't make sense to me if you can fit the car model itself in the same amount of space, per se. I never had trouble in GTA III either, but I know that was a different game engine.
  2. Hate the look of the Carbon Motors car. Police Interceptor is widely availible for GTA IV. I featured it in a couple of my older videos from spring of this year.
  3. GTAPoliceMods has an option to sort cars by country or region I believe. As far as languages go, Japanese, English, Chinese and Russian are supposed to be among the hardest, short of tribal languages. English has far too many slang words, words with double or triple meanings, constantly adds new terms and differs in usage and accents depending on what region of America or England you go to. Mexican Spanish, South American Spanish, and Spanish Spanish are similar in that way. If you learn one, you can speak to people in all countries, but they might make fun of you after the conversation is over. To completely master English is difficult unless you are a native speaker. Japanese has three alphabets, and from what I've heard it's near impossible to learn and remember all three. Russian is just plain weird. Very few languages that tie into it directly and it uses different letters altogether making it harder to write or read. You can at least skim things in German, French, Spanish, English, etc and get the gist of a few things even if you don't speak the language. That's not really doable with Russian, Chinese, Japanese or Korean. For installing the game, you need to download the installer from this website. It shouldn't be too hard to find. Double click it and follow the prompts. Translation: Pour installer le jeu, vous avez besoin de t
  4. I don't hate the Taurus as much as everyone else does. I do however, despise the new Chevy Caprice.
  5. Put simply, the Frostbyte engine is coded well, the Euphoria engine is not. The 6850 is pretty much a 5850 that has less power consumption. The 5850 worked pretty well on BC2, so it comes as no surprise to me.
  6. Kind of defeats the purpose of a new version then. I'll pass on ENB anyway. I think the less mods I have the better off I am trying to strip away things for either playing LCPDFR on MP mode, or just troubleshooting stuff. ELS and a couple of car mods aren't too hard to replace if you have backup files and simply remove the right scripts. I'd just be adding more crap onto the pile. I may try it one day on my copy of EFLC or something.
  7. CPU and GPU's bottleneck each other. You have to either do them in pairs or have a CPU that's prepared for graphics card upgrades ahead of time. As far as AMD bashing goes, the 6990 is the most powerful graphics card in the world. The 590 falls behind (slightly) in benchmarks, and AMD always represents a better value. Now, go below the 6990, and step down to a single GPU card, like the 6970 vs the 580? Yeah, then the 580 wins. One of the reason AMD has better value is in particular not just pricing overall, but the way the 6950's and 6970's are built. A 6950 is physically the same card, but it has a BIOS that limits how many shader cores it uses and what the clock speed is. You can alter this by flashing the BIOS so it turns into a 6970. So you can buy the cheaper card, and get all the performance if you know what you're doing. That being said, I'm running an nVidia card. Not because I love nVidia, but because it was the best choice I had at the time when one of my two 4890's died due to a ball bearing failure in the fan.
  8. Did you petition for a refund and/or compensation? Some people got their full money back, I got $20 back that I used towards a copy of Medal of Honor and Bad Company 2 Vietnam.
  9. GTA IV natively has no support for FSAA. Only FSAF. Also I'd advise an AMD card if you have the choice. It states very clearly in the readme.txt that nVidia cards are prone to overheating due to the decision to use a dangerous .DLL file that was known to cause these issues. Apparently the creator must not care. I have a 570GTX so I won't be risking it.
  10. No you can't. The video card is too weak. I had a hard time with two 4890's, nevermind one "4800 series".
  11. No. At least not well.
  12. Everything is fine on Windows 7. Running Ultimate x64 here, so you shouldn't have any issues with the OS.
  13. **UPDATE** The cars are finished. Sorry for the need to double post. Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?gbxre28r5lldyik
  14. No it hasn't. The Battlefield series wasn't even competing with Call of Duty's product until Bad Company 2. They were completely different games up until that point.
  15. The thing that's in my way of playing perfectly right now seems to be the inability to arrest or call for backup after a little while. That's a beta bug, not ELS. It used to piss me off but .95 seems to be more compatible with it for whatever reason.
  16. unr3al replied to a post in a topic in GTA IV & LCPDFR Support
Please tell me this isn't a .95 request thread since you said the word 'transport'... In any case, if it was .95, restart the game. That happens to me after a few arrests. If it's .91, I'm not sure. It glitches out on me every once in a blue moon, but it's fairly infrequent. You can always call for backup, aim at them and press '3' so the AI cops target them. Of course if it's .91 they'll shoot the person to death. lol
  17. Engrish hard! :pinch:
  18. http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ That will answer all your questions. (I hope.)
  19. Can't you just "wash" your car by flipping between models back and forth until you get one that's not dirty?
  20. Seriously, can we just close this entire 'Support' section of the forum for a while? I'm getting tired of this. Read my signature please. Thank you.
  21. Try where it says 'Download Here' in the first post.
  22. **UPDATE** I have modified the skins on my cars to replace any graphics remaining from the original ones I worked on, they are 100% mine now. This means I no longer have to clear anything with anyone to post distribute them. I can probably do a release of them in another day or two, I just need to modify the license plates. I will post screenshots in a couple of minutes so you can get a preview. *EDIT* Here are a couple of screens:
  23. Yeah you guys are both from Europe. I'm from the states. There's at least a 250-300ms difference between myself and him.
  24. Okay, so I think I finally have this straightened out. lol http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=N68C-S%20UCC That's your motherboard, right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR3_SDRAM Those are the base clock speeds of DDR3 RAM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR2_SDRAM Those are the base clock speeds of DDR2 RAM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR_SDRAM Those are the base clock speeds of DDR RAM. Those charts lead me to believe that you have DDR2 RAM, but only if the speed you have is the I/O Bus clock, not the memory clock. Memory clocks don't go that high apparently. So that would mean you have DDR2 PC2-4200.
  25. Don't send me a PM, I already posted a pretty lengthy explanation on the forums in the 'Media' section I believe. In short, I can't distribute any of my skins because I have a couple of decals on them used by other people, so I need to get permission first. I'm still waiting on 'Chavez' to respond to my e-mail. It's been a couple of days and I've had no reply. I may end up swapping out the decals in question if he doesn't respond. I like the cars as they are but I may have to change them if this will end up being difficult getting a simple e-mail response.
