I like it a lot. Why does he have a flashlight though? lol It should be the other way around. :P
  2. For using a patch? lol No. There might be a readme file with it, but usually it's just an executable file you simply double click on, MAYBE prompting you to locate the directory it's installed in, then you just let it do its thing. If the game launches after that, then we can work towards applying LCPD:FR.
  3. The reason beta 1 exists for download is because a few greedy community members took it upon themselves to attempt to steal the finished tester version and distribute it. It was not for public release. At this point our hands were tied, and we were forced to release it. There are improvements and changes that have been made since the leaked beta that a lot of you have. Testers have a different version. I can assure you that things are going slow, but steady. I'd personally gear up for Battlefield 3, since that (much larger) team gets paid a large sum of money to have it done by a certain due date. I know I'm excited for it.
  4. Training will differ depending on the state you live in (I'm from the US). The academy closest to where I live requires the following: Age 18-29 1.5 mile run (male) Entrance Time: 12:53 Exit Time: 11:58 Push-ups (male) Entrance: 27 Exit: 33 Sit-ups in 1 min. (male) Entrance: 37 Exit: 40 1 repetition maximum effort bench press (male) % of body weight Entrance: 96% Exit: 106% 20/40 Vision minimum. Physical fitness exam every 3 years from the date you are hired. 14 Weeks of training for a full time Officer. Education requirements will differ depending on which department you apply to. High school seems to be acceptable, and currently I don't have any clear information as to whether a college degree will help your pay or not. I've been told that anything required for the job will be learned in the academy. You are allowed to go home from the academy on the weekends, but the majority of your time will be used for studying. Part time officers (potentially myself in the future, should I decide on this as a job) will live at home and take mostly night classes. Your spend less weeks at the academy, but you are limited to 1300 hours of work per year.
  5. Your CPU and RAM are incredibly weak by todays standards, even for laptops, and I have no idea what graphics card you have. Your RAM technically meets requirements but you'll probably run into issues as Iconography stated earlier. Your processor does not meet spec at all for the minimum requirements of the core game. Looks to me as though you can't play this game unfortunately. You have some upgrading to do.

Yup. That's why the new call-outs have to be manually triggered. They're not ready for prime time.
  7. I'd look at computers for future games if I were you, not current games. That makes what you buy obsolete out of the box. Also if you're a computer novice, I'd recommend buying a pre-built one like the kind you showed on that website of yours.
  8. They realize everyone would like it, but I wouldn't expect to see anything happen this year.
  9. GTA IV goes in first, LCPD:FR second. The car mods are specific to my install. I used two certain models of cars that you may not have. I used the San Francisco Police Department CVPI, and the Unmarked CVPI for police1 and police2. For just the skins themselves, you can go into the .wtd file with SparkIV or OpenIV, and extract the skins as PNG files. Then you can apply them to whatever you like.
  10. Don't know what to tell you. 'E' is the correct key if you're aiming at them with a baton or gun. Downgrade to .91 if you can't get it to work.
  11. The costume rental store probably only has so many cop uniforms. lol
  12. I didn't forget. I'm a tester. lol And I've seen the forced world events (random running guy) and new forced callouts. Good ideas so far, we'll see how they pan out.
  13. That is probably the funniest thing I'm going to see all day. lol Well done.
  14. Nobody said that every one of them have to be there at once. lol There can be multiple showings.
  15. It's steep because for most games it would be, but GTA IV's code base is a pile of trash. Say what you want about the complexity of the game, but Rockstar could have done better. They obviously put very little effort into this console port. I used a Core 2 Duo E6700 (Conroe Generation), 4GB of Corsair XMS DDR2, a PNY 8800GTX on Windows XP with a 19" LCD monitor. Not a widescreen, so it wasn't a 1080i or 1080p resolution. That was a great computer for January 2006, which is when I built it. GTA IV ran pretty poorly when it came out, even at medium settings. May of 2009 rolls around, and I re-build my system with a Phenom II X4 955BE, two 4890's anda 6GB DDR 3 OCZ Reaper memory, and finally the game is playable at high details on a 23" LCD or LED at 1080p resolution. And on an unrelated note, since I can't reply to Iconography or the rest of the forum community in the other topic with our loveable bail-out, Storm; Understand that what I said regarding blue screens(as should be apparent by the context it was used it) is a generalization. I generalized people who had catastrophic trouble installing this mod. I had difficulty for about an hour or so before I created a forum account, asked a question, and followed instructions. And that was before I found a convenient .exe file that did the work for me, like we have today. My statement was no more broad and overly elaborate than his ridiculously overstated description of the problems with the mod. It's a beta, it has bugs, but most people on this forum solve them, or find explanations for them. If he's having all of these magical problems; it's him and his computer. Nothing else. Furthermore, the post I responded to was indeed trolling, by definition. It's a fact, not an insult. You'll notice that he took note of what I said and apologized, implying that he realized he shouldn't have said what he said, and I commend him for that. But if he's going to outright insult people I work with in the development and progression of this mod, and say what he said, he's not going to be getting a sugar sweet response from me anytime soon. Instead he's going to be called out for the way he acts. And if he doesn't like it, then that's his problem. I violated no rules by pointing out facts regarding what he said in his thread, and I stand by my remarks and observations. I'd thank him for his apology, but the thread is closed.
  16. He'll have quite a mess on his hands without more vigilant police there to protect against any attacks that may occur during the ceremony. It would certainly be a tempting target. It's also fairly offensive to people with friends or family that risked or lost their lives on that day. Bad call, imo. Well, that's a traditional politician further. Easiest solution to a problem is to ignore it and not come up with one at all.
  17. Our technical troll already took off, but for future reference, for reasonable play: Dual Core i5, 4GB, AMD 5770. Optimal play: Quad Core something (except Athlon CPU's or weak Phenoms) 6GB AMD 5800 series or higher I used to run GTA IV vanilla install with a Core 2 Duo and an 8800GTX. Ran like crap, and that was a very powerful system at the time (beginning of 2006). So bottom line is you need to invest some money for higher end graphics. It's not LCPDFR's fault, it will be the fault of the poor console port-over coding that Rockstar did, high end car models and weak system components. If you don't want to upgrade your PC; Buy a Playstation or XBOX. People use those for gaming because you can buy one and be set for 5+ years without having to change anything, and you can just spend money on games and equipment. PC's are just more flexible and better with graphics and customization.
  18. Door's that way. Also you're a troll, you can't spell and your computer sucks. Mine runs everything fine because I'm an adult who can invest some money into my hobby and I know how to double click an .exe file without blue screening.
  19. That browning (and many other pistols like it) are in the shape of a Colt 1911. .45 ACP ammo makes it close in power to the desert eagle. You'd have to change more than the skin and model to make it act like the .45 in power and accuracy. I always prefer to use the Desert Eagle in game but the taser doesn't work with it, which is a shame since some departments use .45 ammo, not just 9mm.
  20. Alright then. Let's continue. Play ball!
  21. EFLC has different weapons and cars, that's about it. I have both. lol
  22. Please. You've been using the Internet for how long? That's not anywhere near the limit.
  23. They world would learn of the mission soon after (and it's potential success or failure), so the pressure was on, big time.
  24. Nothings crazy about boobs. :) Guys go crazy for those things as I'm sure you know. lol
