  1. I respect your opinions and although I am not American, I feel obliged to reply to your post. First of all, if you look at the amount of weapons in circulations in the US, you can't blame police forces for upgrading their weaponry. Just look at what the guys in Aurora and Columbine High were carrying. Nonetheless, I wouldn't support the second amendment in its current form if I was an American. Second, SWAT members carry masks to protect their identity. Their actions have to remain secretive in order to protect them and their families from repercussion. Third, bills like the NDAA are indeed scary. No man should be held indefinitely and without trial. Unfortunately, that is the world we live in.Terrorism has become the number one priority in both the US and Europe, hence the tight airport security. It must be said however that Europe is loosening its security, for example fluids are no longer prohibited in your personnal luggage. I know since I followed the customs and narcotic teams at the airport of Zaventem (Brussels) during my internship with the Belgian federal police. I can't speak for the USA however since I've never been in an American airport. Furthermore, I believe that institutions like the Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights can play a big role in keeping an eye on the government. Section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act won't survive the massive claims of unconstitutionality. Finally, I understand your concerns but as long as you can fight the police in court, you don't live in a police state. Try talking back to a police officer in Eastern European countires like Georgia or Arabic countries like Morocco.
  2. Congratulations to Obama. And to the Americans here complaining, know that I would give an arm and a leg to move to the US.
  3. Some more 'leaked' info on the Gameinformer issue about GTA V: "A user from GameFaqs named AP15 claims to have an early access to Gameinformer December issue. Of course, the December issue info is definitely going to be the Grand Theft Auto’s details. The brand new information from December issue of Gameinformer can be found below: -You play as Albert DeSilva a half american half puerto rican american -He is 42 years old and has an ex wife and 2 kids - the show breaking bad has a little influence on the game as Albert is drawn to the life of crime from an older age for the money. -You also play as Dougie Vejo a younger criminal just coming up in Los Santos -Los Santos is the only large city, smaller towns round out the countrtyside. - Grove Street makes a return, however Carl and Sweet are not in the game. -Money plays a large part as Albert lost most of his in a ponzi like scheme. -Property buying is back -The only customization for characters are clothes/hair/facial hair. no gyms or tattoos -one or more characters from 4 may show up -car customization is back, seems more fitting for Dougie however Albert may be going through a midlife crisis. -the triumphant return of Lovefist!!! or as the band is now known as the Jezzies. -Songs confirmed so far: My Michelle-Guns and Roses, Magic Power- Triumph, California Dreaming- The beach boys and Beautiful-Snoop Dogg featuring Pharrell. -New mini games include golf, tennis and surfing - Mission played was called “Alimony” featured the scene from the trailer in which they rob the jewelry store" I would say most of it seems legit, seeing the first trailer. 4. Yeah, the ocean part sounded particulary interesting to me. Posted the announcement and saw your post appear a nanosecond later.
  5. Rockstar just confirmed a spring 2013 release "Today, we're proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto V is expected to launch worldwide spring 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Developed by series creator Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto V takes place in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California in the largest and most thriving game-world we have ever created set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond – from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean. Starting next week November 5, 2012, Grand Theft Auto V will become available for pre-order everywhere and fans can expect a host of new information to become available in November. Look for downloadable desktop versions of the brand new artwork above coming very soon." http://www.rockstarg...pring-2013.html
  6. "Fresh evidence supporting Grand Theft Auto V’s Spring 2013 release date has cropped up courtesy of U.K. retail giant GAME's Brighton branch;" It seems that a GAME uk employer posted some promotional flyers on his twitter account. This seems to confirm earlier rumors about a 2013 spring release. Let us hope Rockstar will confirm this officially. Especially the female cop on the first picture. http://www.psu.com/a...ces-via-GAME-UK EDIT: Rockstar just confirmed a spring 2013 release. See my bottom post.
  7. Just amazing Abraxas. You never cease to amaze me.
  8. Check out the first page of the siren tool thread. Download the fix posted there and put the two files in your directory. At first, it didn't work for me as well but those files fixed it for me.
  9. Nice, I see Anna Rex is back.
  10. Thanks for the heads up. Listening to the scanner and live wire now. Btw, link for the scanner:http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?action=wp&feedId=12261

  13. I'm pretty sure they are building up to something with these screenshots, maybe a release date or another trailer. Man, I've never been this excited for a game...
  14. Simple native trainer lets you turn the engine off and on. Just look under "Car options". http://www.gtagaming.com/downloads/gta-iv/script-mods/2115
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong but from what I heard, the officer that was shot was a "20-year veteran of the force" instead of a 20 year old. Also, the shooter appears to be an Army vet who had a 9/11 tattoo on one arm: http://edition.cnn.com/2012/08/06/us/wisconsin-temple-shooting/index.html
  16. Sounds excellent Braveheart! It's projects like these that make me want to play GTA IV again.
  17. Congratulations to the G17 team. Back when I joined, I never would have dreamed there were so many other law enforcement enthousiasts. You can be very proud of what you achieved since building a community like this from nothing is an astonishing achievement. I wish you all the best of luck.
  18. Well, having done a 3 months internship with the federal police, I've had plenty of encounters with the police. I basically accompanied detectives everywhere they went. Did some fantastic things including house searches, arresting drug mules at the airport, excavating a murder victim, listen to wire taps, attend interrogations, shooting practice,... Not to forget responding code 3 several times in undercover police cars. It was just heartbraking to go back to studying again since a lot of the detectives became good friends. Hopefully, I'll see them again shortly, when I'm a full sworn police officer. Here, you can see me on the right in a white protective suit, helping the detectives to set up a sieve in order to search for human remains between all the dirt. It was very cold and wet that day so we all tried to keep warm since those white suits don't offer much protection against the weather. This picture was taken by the local press. I do have my own pictures but I cant disclose those since I am still bound by confidentiality. The person with the red hood is from the Disaster Victim Identification unit while the man in the camouflage vest is from Dovo, the army's bomb squad. He was there because of all the bombs from the Second World War we excavated as well.
  19. I have an Intel Core2 Duo E6600 (4Mb Cache, 2.40 Ghz, 1066 MHz FSB). However, it's overclocked to 3.0 GHz. Again, it isn't top notch but it delivers great performance, especially when overclocked. See Neoseeker's review: http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/core2duo_e6600/12.html "Well, for one thing, that the E6600 is a great overclocker, with unbelievable performance when overclocked, and ‘merely’ outstanding performance at stock speeds. Which means that whether you're an enthusiast, gamer, or just some person who wants oustanding performance the Core 2 Duo delivers once again... For Gamers: Core 2 Duo is a great choice." I am thinking of upgrading my specs though since it's been more than a year since I built it.
  20. I have a GTS 450 and it performs very well. Iconography is right though. I would stay clear of high poly car packs and graphic mods to avoid texture loss. However, I play GTA IV on the highest settings and so far, it has run other system hogs like Arma Combined ops and Napoleon Total war without issues.
  21. I am a big fan of Arma II (combined ops) and it is one of my favourite games, next to GTA IV. I just love hooking up my joystick and taking an Apache or A-10 for a ride. As for Arma III, I'm definitely looking forward to it. Like the devs said themselves, all the small tweaks like reloading animations will provide an even better experience. I also hope, same as Sniper, they remain loyal to the original fans and don't simplify the game for all those Dayz children out there. Last but not least, mod support. Mods like JSRS, ACE, Blastcore, CBA,... lifted Arma II from a great game to an amazing and realistic simulator.
