Yet another mass shooting, Texas church
The Las Vegas scenario is an extreme outlier. As you pointed out, guns weren't allowed in the venue because of the alcohol consumption (NOT saying that they should have been). The shooter was in a high vantage point, capable of committing plunging fire down into a tightly packed crowd with limited exits. Even responding cops couldn't do anything besides make their way to the floor and breach, for fear of hitting innocents in the hotel while trying to fire several hundred meters away (the average police sniper engagement range is 70 meters). It should also be noted that having a firearm in a hotel in Nevada is illegal. But, we also have to look at scenarios that didn't make the news because they weren't flashy enough. Its a fact that most mass shootings, particularly schools, occur in gun free zones where it is illegal for people to bring firearms. It also has an effect on other shootings, such as the movie theater shooting in Colorado. James Holmes had multiple theaters closer to him than the one he chose, including ones with bigger venues. But the one he chose was a gun free zone, unlike other ones. The exact scenario you mentioned with multiple people pulling out concealed carry pieces happened a few days ago in Colorado. Multiple people drew their firearms, causing the suspect to flee from the scene. Another example happened at the Clackamas Mall in Oregon, just 2 days before the Sandy Hook shooting. After a man started shooting an AR-15 at shoppers, a concealed carrier that didn't notice the gun free zone sign drew his Glock 22, taking aim at the shooter but not firing for fear of hitting bystanders. The shooter noticed however, running around a corner and shooting himself. Ignoring this man's politics, he has a number of good points and statistics on mass shootings. Very few shooters choose to fight after confronting some one with a gun, be it civilians or law enforcement. The vast majority give up or kill themselves. At the very least, it pulls the shooter's attention away from the bystanders and puts his/her attention towards the bigger threat, the good guy with the gun.

Yet another mass shooting, Texas church
See Warren v. District of Columbia. The job of the police is to investigate crimes and violations of city ordinances after it is committed. On the rest of the post, while it may seem harsh, the world is a dangerous place. While most certainly not the victims fault, the main point that can be taken away is that there are sick individuals in the world, and as the old adage goes, when you need immediate help, police are only 5 minutes away on average. Meanwhile, it takes only minutes to bleed out from severe trauma to an artery. As I pointed out in my previous post, the suspect was being chased by an armed citizen that intervened. The citizen was on the phone with dispatch as he chased the shot attacker at 95 mph. Even after the suspect crashed, it took the police 7 minutes to arrive to the biggest priority call in their log. You can continue to rely on the police if you want, just don't expect me to give up on my own natural right to protect the life of myself and those around me.

Yet another mass shooting, Texas church
A pre ban select fire m16 lower receiver tends to be at least $12,000, so unlikely he had multiples of those. Converting an AR-15 to true select fire is fairly difficult for a layman, and I'm sure something would have came out by now if he had multiple legal class 3 firearms.

Yet another mass shooting, Texas church
And half the posts in this thread just got blown out: To recap the video, the man interviewed witnessed the shooter (who had a dishonorable discharge and is unable to legally purchase a gun) in a gunfight with what the interviewee recognized as a good person. The good person had a rifle and engaged the suspect, most likely hitting him. A high speed chase ensued when the good person with the gun hopped in the vehicle of the man being interviewed, and they gave chase to the suspect, on the phone with law enforcement the whole time. The suspect crashed, died (most likely a combination of being shot and the impact), and the citizen held him at gunpoint. Despite being on the phone with police for however long the chase happened, and informing them that the mass shooting suspect was in their sight, it still took police 7 minutes to respond to their location. I recall having this conversation with you before. Instead of going into the details of the fact fully automatic weapons are a major pain in the ass to obtain or afford or the fact that automatic means more than one bullet being fired every time the trigger is pulled, I'll ask you to name one shooting in the US committed with a fully automatic weapon where the owner jumped through all the legal hoops in the last 50 years. I'll give you a hint, it was a cop who shot his cheating wife and her lover with an uzi.

Terror Emergency in Las Vegas, NV
It was the exact opposite of a sniper attack. The shooter had some sort of automatic rifle (yes, I know the difference between semi and full auto). Based on the length of fire and sound, it sounded like an AK of some type. Current count is updated to 50 dead, 200 injured, 1 of the dead was an off duty lvmpd officer. A 2nd off duty cop was injured. I expect the numbers will rise.

Did Normal US Police Officers have SMG
There are also 10mm and .40 cal versions of it. Not to mention a lot of older HK rifles were based on that design, such as the 93, 94, and the all powerful HK51B:

Did Normal US Police Officers have SMG
Actually, because the bullet fired is smaller (just a much higher energy), rifles have less penetration through common building materials than commonly issued hollow point rounds for duty handguns and even some shotgun loads. It's because of this that very few police in the US use Submachine Guns anymore. Other reasons include: -Better penetration through body armor and glass (such as vehicle glass, I know of a shooting where MP5's couldn't penetrate a windshield that resulted in a dead hostage) -Greater effective range -Much easier to modify an AR-15/M4 with attachments such as grips, optics, flashlights and lasers -HK refuses to service departments without an HK certified armorer, which is an expensive course to send an officer to for a niche firearm

Looks like a buttstock was added to the smg mark II. I would assume it's so the stats are edited to reflect that.

[REL] Realism Dispatch Enhanced 3.1.1
One of the few issues I've noticed may seem relatively minor, but why are magazines on the same side as the firearm on the belts of ped models? It makes no sense to have them on that side because the dominant hand should be controlling the weapon while the weaker hand should be the one doing reloads, making the magazines on the left side.

Austin Texas Pulls 400 FPIU's From Duty After Numerous Carbon Monoxide Leaks
I've read about issues with carbon monoxide leaks in the past on the FPIU, but never realized it was this widespread. At least 20 officers have received serious injuries due to leaks in Austin alone, and it has been attributed to causing several crashes across the country.

Can we get some damn backup?
Pretty much every call should have at least 2 officers show up, purely for officer safety. What would be incredible to see is calls that are actually fluent with variable possibilities before we get there. I personally hate the callout strategy of the call being completely static until an officer gets there. Take the armed robbery call from your post for example. In my ideal version of the mod, the following could happen: A similar flowchart for all calls would be incredible.

Craziest LCPDFR/LSPDFR Situations
I saw an old post of mine and was inspired by this. What's everyone's craziest experience with this mod? I'll start with a story from GTA 4: I was waiting in an alleyway for a call in Downtown Alderney NW of the Plumber's Skyway Entrance in EVI's caprice with a K-9 as a partner. I start hearing yelling, and a R* generated foot pursuit passes me. I jump out and press the hotkey for the K-9, and we get involved in the chase. After rounding a corner, I get half a block away from him when my K-9 starts hauling after the gangbanger. The gangbanger starts shooting, and the cop I am with and I start returning fire as my dog retreats. Doors open on the car to my left, and two gang bangers get out, one with a glock and the other with an uzi. Two backup cars arrive, and those two suspects go down. The K-9 then disarms the original suspect, and I arrest him and call for a transport. I start heading back to my car when I hear more gun shots. I turn around thinking it's the AI police being stupid and corrupt by shooting an unarmed man. However, two more gang bangers started trying to break out the original suspect. After a 15 second shootout and more backup arriving, all three suspects are down. By the end of it, 5 suspects were killed, 2 officers were killed and my dog was killed also. All of it happened in about 2 minutes.

Modded Attachments Not Appearing in Gun Running DLC
I installed weapon attachments from various packs over their respective slots in the gun running dlc weapons.rpf, but none of the attachments are appearing in game. I used 3 different scopes, a different grip and a different suppressor. When I try spawning them in game, they are simply invisible, but the main weapon and its magazines appear just fine. Does anyone have a fix for this?

[REL] Realism Dispatch Enhanced 3.1.1
Yes, but I asked here since PNWParksFan is on the team and CustomBackup is included with RDE. But on topic, is there a list of vehicles for the new version?
-
[REL] Realism Dispatch Enhanced 3.1.1
Will CustomBackup be updated to allow more in depth weapon customization for our backup? That's something I have always wanted to do to add variety, since I use more real world guns in place of life models.

The standalone magnifier is just plain painful. Besides that, good graphics. (For those that don't get it, that optic IRL is just magnification, and meant to go behind a red dot or holographic sight)
