okay here are a few things i have done. i have to say that my game runs EXTREMELY well!! i have tweaked and tweaked and i have a good setup. i crash about every hour and a half sometimes two. sometimes i get bored and turn it off without it crashing at all so i'll tell ya what i did. 1. i installed non els brush trucks instead of fire trucks, pstockade, nstockade, and i replaced ambulances with little swedish ones. smaller, less lights, and less deadly!! 2. in the els slot control i turned all those mentioned above to Status=OFF 3. i lowered the ELS range of AI police in the ELS ini in the main GTA IV folder. You can also change the number of ELS cars allowed a few lines below that if you choose. right now its at 20. less els cars hanging around the better. but those two numbers you will have to mess around with to see what suits you. 4. in the lcpdfr notepad inside the lcpdfr folder i changed to SuspectTransporterModels=pstockade (this just allows the non els pstockade you install to come pick up prisoners. the only els cars that i keep are police, police2, fbi, noose, and polpatriot) 5. i also increased the Maximum Seconds Before New Callout. that way it limits the amount of AI police cruisers reacting to random calls. If you have a few callouts installed you can drastically reduce the number of these if you want. The only thing i enable with lcpdfr is the plate reader in the cruiser. 6. You can limit the Maximum Cop Cars In Pursuit. This will limit the amount of els cars on the screen at the same time. 7. i lowered some of the CPU usage in the Graphics tab in game. Eliminate shadows and lower water textures. You can mess around with those settings to see what suits you. 8. also when you call an ambulance or backup wait for them to leave the scene before you do. that way they dont disappear and leave those cars sitting around. having a few of those hanging around with all those lights aint good either :P Thats it. i mean if you wanna try these PLEASE PLEASE make a backup copy of your game. You will have to tweak with this and see what works for you and your system. i am really happy with how my game plays. i dont use ENB or anything. I just turned the brightness up. that was good enough for me. and besides with all the tweaks its allowed me to use really sweet cars with bright lights and sexy wig wags :D what i lack in water texture i make up for in really slick lookin cars and lights. anyways good luck man! hope ya game gets better.

Jety is right. there are alot of things that can make your game crash. too many police cars abandoned on screen (when backup or ambulance comes stay on scene until they leave so they can be cleared from memory) over use of mods like tow truck, coroner can help crashes. too many cars on the screen can also cause crash. once your ram is used up its basically goin to crash. you can go in graphic settings by pushing pause and lowering some settings like shadows, water, etc to help regain some RAM. when you crash and get that box with the error in it i just push cancel. i think that particular error happens because of the taser so its no big deal. everytime i turn off my game i get that box that says something happened :P if you are getting an hour of gameplay before your game crashes then you are actually doing pretty good. if your crashes are coming way quicker, like fifteen minutes, then its possible you may have other issues regarding how big your car files are that you installing or something like that.

when you go to your els.ini file in the main GTA IV folder, go down to where it says Els_Range_Pl = 800 and Els_Range_Ai = 500. The PL range is for you and the AI is for the other police cars. Try setting the AI range to 800 to see what happens. let me know if this helps :)

i know it might sound weird but i think some of the mods actually help GTA IV play better. when i first installed GTA IV it played like crap. it was slow and it was like watching it drunk. when i installed mods it played WAY better. if nothing else have you lowered some of the graphic setttings a little bit to help? i can't use ENB because it basically brings my game to a turtles pace so i just changed the brightness through graphic settings by changing contrast and brightness until i had a really bright game. i then changed my police car lighting by messing around with ELS settings. its possible everyones game plays differently but i hope you can get it fixed :) hopefully someone may have some better suggestions than i do. good luck :D

i'll be glad if you keep modding for the current game :D there are some members who probably wont get GTA V because of price or their computer not being able to handle it. so i think there are goin to be a fair amount of LCPDFR users for a long time to come. plus it took some members forever and ever to finally get their copy of LCDPFR working so i don't know if they are wanting to try installing a brand new one so soon haha :D glad to see you on the forum and can't wait to see your mods. also here in ohio its half billion degrees at this very second i feel like i need sunglasses inside the house haha lol.

okay i was looking up other things in anticipation of that not working. there are MANY people who have had this exact error but they are all solved differently. i will include a few of them to see which problem you are most likely having. the only way you will be able to find which is for you is to try them until yours is fixed. i would recommend making a backup copy of your game while you try these because im guessing it might not be as easy as these people say :P a few of them have said that error means something is missing or corrupt. so its a guessing game at this point. http://gtaforums.com/topic/445459-fatal-error-rmn60-gtaiv/ see if this helps at all. i was on Steam looking up the problem as well and again many different solutions.

​good morning Flak. make sure you do follow the post above. make sure all steps are completed. i don't see any reason why you should be installing GTA IV more than once though. save yourself some time and make a spare copy or two of GTA IV if you can. that way you can just copy and paste if you screw one copy up :P also make sure that your GTA IV game is running fine by itself before you install the mod. also when you download and install the mod disable virus protection to ensure no parts are blocked from being installed. after you have made sure the above steps were followed get back to us if you are still having issues.

​hello Elias :D thanks for posting on the forum. what kind of problems are you having exactly? does the police mod work when you turn it on? if so how long do you get to play before it crashes? if your game is just crashing after half hour or so then there are certain things you can do to help. but being that LCPDFR is a mod itself it will crash eventually regardless :P let me know more about what is going on and we'll see if we can help.

​hello there. i have been looking around the forum to track down that specific error. try downloading this to see if this corrects your situation http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 if that does not help then i would suggest uninstalling the LCPDFR mod. Run GTA IV to make sure the game runs good. Then disable your virus protection and re download and re install LCPDFR. Its entirely possible that your virus protection is blocking certain pieces from being installed. give these things a try. if it doesn't work then get back to us

​hello amby and welcome to the forum :) we'll try to give a few simple things to try. first is your GTA IV copy running correctly without LCPDFR installed? if it does then its clearly an issue with the police mod and i am thinking it might be with the installation. once you confirm your GTA IV is good to go then install LCPDFR automatically but disable your virus protection during the downloading and installation. sometimes virus programs can block certain parts from being downloaded which will cause your mod to simply not work. try that real quick and if that works lemme know. if not we will try something else :D

Hmm do you mean you are trying to edit uniforms and such? If that is the case you will need to use Open IV. If that is not the case is there any way you can copy a folder you wanna edit to your desktop? Edit it there and then replace the copy in your folder with that one. If those do not help maybe give more information about exactly what you are trying to do and I'll try to help :)
