(Just some advice) I can't speak to what the state police will look for, but FYI high school doesn't matter in college or after college. It only matters for acceptance to college and that's it. Employers (and i assume state police fall under that category) will not like seeing high school things on your resume. It's something you can mention during an interview (for like 1 second) and shouldn't waste the limited space of a resume. So in reality, make sure you continue doing these things in college- don't just sit back and do nothing or party because it'll be extremely obvious.

[just a little rebuttal to show the pros!] I definitely agree that if you only want to end up on the street your whole life (which there's nothing wrong with that) then don't pay for a masters. If you're going to foresee yourself advancing into detective work or becoming a captain, lieutenant, etc. then you'll definitely need a four year degree and probably a masters. Plus, 5-year programs offer the academy in the course, so that saves money or the risk of not getting sponsored. If a hiring committee has two candidates, one with an associates and one with a masters in Criminal Justice, they'll be more likely to go with the person with a masters. Of course, a lot of the interview process is how you present yourself, so it can happen the other way around!

One thing I'd recommend is when looking for schools look for those with a 5 year criminal justice program- that is 4 years for a B.S. and the last year as included police academy (it might be combined throughout the whole 5 years, idk, I'm a biology major). This will both ensure you graduate with a B.S. and masters of CJ and police training through the academy. I know my school is the only one in MA with this program, Here's a quote from my school: "Criminal Justice majors can earn their bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as complete police academy training, within five years as part of a concentration launching in fall 2015." So look for that too in order to speed up time and get the best training! Good luck!

I would strongly recommend saving up a bit more to build your own PC. I built mine for about $650/700ish and it's a strong PC with room for upgrades in the future. Having a not-as-powerful one now won't help when you need to get a new one in 5 years. Spending a bit more now will allow you to upgrade easier.

I assume he means that either A) the units arrive in pairs or groups from the same directions, as to simulate responses together and not as lone dogs and/or B) units don't pull right up to the scene and run everything over, but stop a bit further back and walk up to the scene, without crashing into each other (at least I hope that's what he means...)

One of the biggest things I want is the option to go back on the selection screen for vehicles... Sometimes I pick a person then decide to change it after I see a vehicle I want to use, so I have to go off duty then back on duty and do it all over again... Nothing major, but hopefully by LSPDFR 2.0 it'll be added! Other than that, great job LMS and Sam! You guys deserve a lot more praise than you receive for this!

There's already a 2016 model in the works. Whether it's released or not, who knows!

Hi all! So I've tried to begin learning C#. My intent is to make a program that can be used in LSPDFR which will allow me to fill out police reports (similar [in concept] to FinKone's ticket time, except this will be full reports). How should I start. I made the program in Visual Studio 2013, and it works, but how do you tie it into RageHook/Scripthook? Anyone have any sort of tutorials they could point me towards? Understand that I am a complete 100000000% noob to coding- the only other coding I did was making a website in 10th grade (it was about Napoleon for a computers class presentation). I understand that learning from the ground up is helpful, but the tutorials I've watched kind of just make websites and programs- not things that I can tie into RageHook. I have some free electives left so I can take a coding class next semester, but I'd rather not and take stuff more like my major. Anyone have suggestions? Where did you learn to code? Thanks for the help!

Sometimes (if you're talking about Jeff Favignano from YT) he edits that to sound like it's from a police speaker. Is that what you're talking about?

I believe wholeheartedly that all the races/sexes/everyone be treated equally and with respect. However, this is ridiculous. Instead of wasting your time standing on a highway wasting valuable resources, money, and personnel you could be going to city council/town meetings where you can demand (nicely) that the city explain what they're doing to combat this issue. Or you could be calling your state representative/senator every week asking what they are doing to help prevent these killings from happening. Or, even more unthinkable, schedule a meeting with the chief of police and talk to him/her about these issues and try to get what he/she is doing to combat these issues. This is how change happens- not by standing on a highway....

I'll be moving to PA in about 2 years for med school- how in the world does their PD system work? Is it by town, county, state (that's how MA is minus county police)? Or is it different- I never saw any cops when I drove through it on Memorial Day Weekend (I saw 60000 in MA and NY)

It's like here in MA when Ferguson went down people blocked the Pike [I-90 for those who aren't from here] (either that or I-93) and stopped an ambulance from bringing someone who was critically wounded from an accident to a trauma center in Boston. They had to divert to a different, less amazing trauma center. Who knows how many lives they may have negatively affected by blocking that road- someone could have been going to the hospital to give birth. It's stupid that they do this, absolutely immature.

How does the lighting system work? Is it similar to IVs?

Just an update- I found out the copied indicator was using two UV channels and had a yellow tint to it that caused the blue light to not show through. I got rid of the two channels and brought it to one and it worked perfectly! (just in case anyone else has this issue ever again) Thank you for your help!
