  1. EVGA Precision (which I have used since day one of using EVGA cards) will only work for Nvidia cards, I believe. Most of what you say is true, but only if game crashes are caused by the overheating of your graphics card. Some graphics cards simply can not run GTA IV at all, which will cause texture problems and could result in crashing. The automatic fan speed in Precision is good, although I always set it myself to ~75% on my 560 Ti when playing a game. I also set, in Precision, the 75% fan speed profile to be the default 3D profile so all games will automatically trigger the profile so I don't have to press any hotkeys to change the profile.
  2. http://www.lcpdfr.co...ead-this-first/ make sure you have C++ and .NET 4. OH WAIT don't type in your username and password, missed that part of your post.
  3. Last night I downloaded the KDE plasma desktop packages, so I'm running Ubuntu 11.10 B2 but with the option of using the KDE environment instead (which I prefer, currently). --- Never mind. I have no sound control at all when using KDE. Gnome will work fine but KDE is always full blast all the time, no matter what I set my device to. Have had this problem with all distros using KDE, and has been happening for over 2 years.... Something is either wrong with ALSA or some other thing entirely... Next!
  4. Depending on your system, about every video recorder will lag the game. IF Xfire lages yours I have a feeling most others will as well. You can try WeGame, I had good luck with it.
  5. Yeah I used to access my Windows partition all the time via terminal as well as the GUI. I never actually bothered to link my Windows downloads since none of them are meant for Linux Ubuntu comes with (seemingly) full NTFS support. Oh and congrats on first post!
  6. Well I guess I'll set aside a small 50 GB partition for debian and see how I like it. 50 GB might be a little much but I have 1.96 TB of space to use. Luckily I link my home folder to a partition on my 500GB disk so all of my downloads, documents, etc are synced between most any OS I use (besides Windows).
  7. I've never done much with recording, but maybe you could try other game recording programs? I use WeGame myself, which I believe is what Unr3al uses (used to?) and that seems to work pretty well. My ISP only gives me an upload speed of about 0.78 Mbps so any file format I try takes FOREVER. Ninja'd
  8. Yeah. There is no reason for the scripthookdotnet that comes with LCPD:FR to not work. I think he said he has already tried reinstalling though, although at this point I'm not sure what else there is to try.
  9. No problem. Tell me how that works for you, I can always look around for some more ped mods if you don't have any luck.
  10. Haha yeah, Google translate doesn't always work.
  11. Well I'm sure you can find a way to swap out a cop ped with a tuxedo ped (or change their clothes, whatever). I know someone has to make a tuxedo. I'm not sure how easy it is to swap out clothes though.... Never tried.
  12. We currently do not issue release dates, sorry. (No emitimos las fechas de estreno, lo siento). I believe that Spanish translations are being added to the mod. As for the key to arrest people, that sounds more like a glitch that should be fixed with the stable release of 0.95. ( Yo creo que el idioma español va a aparecer. En términos de la tecla para el arresto de las personas, creo que la tecla tiene un fallo. La tecla va a ser fijo..) I apologize, my Spanish is not the best. It has been years since I last spoke Spanish.
  13. So you use Ubuntu for most of your every day kind of work? Or do you use Windows for that.
  14. Would this work? http://www.gtapolicemods.com/index.php?/files/file/891-lcpdpolicesheriff-detectives/
  15. I understand that many people on here do not use a Linux based OS, but I know for a fact that some people here do. My NIC seemed to suddenly stop working for all installations of Windows 7 (don't ask me why) so I've been spending a lot more time using and experimenting with different types of Linux distros. I currently use Ubuntu 11.10 B2 and I got used to the Unity interface but I would like something a little different. I decided to try using Elive but that was a miserable fail since I either had to pay to install it or I had to write some stupid blog about it. So, basically, I was wondering what you fellow forum members are using, and what you recommend. I have heard that Debian is good, I might mess around with installing that later too. I would prefer distros other than ones meant for older computers with little RAM, such as Damn Small Linux. There's just so many different distros out there that I wanted to get ideas from my fellow forum members rather than going in alphabetical order and testing out every single one.... I also figured anyone wanting to just talk about Linux in general could post here as well.
  16. Independence FM. Oh wait that probably doesn't count Pretty much all of electro choc and LCHC. 900 posts!
  17. I would assume he means the version after .95, since .95 has undergone a feature freeze and new things aren't really being implemented anymore, but that's just my gut feeling.
  18. This is correct. However, I was not aware about an update to ELS V6. I currently don't have a "functional" version of Windows (currently 'forced' to mess with random Linux distros until then) but once I get it back I will need to test that updated version out....

There's a group on Steam but I think that's about it.
  20. Ok they'll stop testing so you can have a glitched copy that might not work
  21. ELS V6 will almost always cause crashes if you have SP AI enabled. Either disable that or use V5.
  22. I thought I saw something about making custom scripts that can interact with 0.95. I say wait a while and see what happens, who knows what those sneaky developers are planning
  23. Oh I stand corrected. used to all models being locked..... Sorry my bad.
  24. To avoid confusion, Office will tend to default to saving stuff as a .DOC or DOCX file. When CP702 says to save it as a TXT file, he means the type of file. The extension should NOT be .txt, it should be .ide.
