LSPDFR 0.4.2 - Now Available!
Yes, you need to make a new model for it and then use the <ShieldModel> tag in the Agency XML. The new model you set will then be used for that Agency instead of the default one. If you don't know how to do this, I'm sure someone will make one eventually.

LSPD Police Badge

- Version 1.0.0
This is a basic LSPD police badge which can be added to the game and used with LSPDFR 0.4.2. The badge uses the same model and texture as the vanilla LSPD badge found in the game, with a slight metallic effect. It is optimized for use with LSPDFR 0.4.2's 'Flash Badge' feature and as such may not be ideal for other uses like spawning as a prop. How to install: Installation should be really simple, just use the OpenIV package manager. You need a mods folder with the latest update.rpf copied into it. This mod will not change any files, it installs itself as its own content pack. After you install, you'll need to update your LSPDFR Agency data and assign the badge to an Agency of your choice. See below for how to do this. LSPDFR 0.4 Agency XML: Shown here is an example Agency configuration with the LSPD badge: In other words, just make sure the Agency has the following: <BadgeModel>prop_lspd_badge</BadgeModel> Note that this model is released in an unlocked format, and the position and rotation of the model within 3D space might be useful as a template for others to create their own badge models that work nicely with LSPDFR 0.4.2. Thanks to @Sniper296 for the artistic render.- 31 comments

Thanks for letting us know this. We fixed a couple of issues with the walk styles in 0.4.2 but this one specific to only the Cop one has slipped the net.

LSPDFR 0.4.2 - Now Available!
20 June, 2019 - We have released a minor update (Build 7110) for LSPDFR 0.4.2 to fix a couple of issues that have been reported to us. We're happy to announce that the latest update of LSPDFR, version 0.4.2, is now available. LSPDFR 0.4.2 brings with it a couple of snazzy new features including protective ballistic shields and the ability to flash your police badge. Aside from this, 0.4.2 not only fixes a number of bugs that have been reported, but also introduces sweeping changes and improvements to the LSPDFR 0.4 API, giving plugin developers more access and power than ever. Additionally, we've made a massive improvement to the Pause Menu which, in something of a first for a GTA mod, now lets you seamlessly configure your LSPDFR keybinds in-game, using the same system as the game itself. LSPDFR 0.4.2, along with full release notes, can be found here: https://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/7792-lspd-first-response Please also see our updated Wiki articles detailing some of the new features in LSPDFR 0.4.2: https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04/features/

Police Badge
Police Badge This feature was added in LSPDFR 0.4.2 and is unavailable in previous versions. The Police Badge is a new feature in LSPDFR 0.4.2 which allows the player to flash their badge. This feature is available both On and Off Duty and can be used to clear any wanted level that has been attained, so long as a police officer sees it. The Police Badge is available as an Action within the Interaction Menu. To show your badge, simply choose 'Flash Badge' as your selected Action in the Interaction Menu. Just like any other Interaction Menu Action, you can press or + to perform the action even when the menu is not open. An undercover officer showing her badge in LSPDFR 0.4.2. Note that a custom badge model is in use. Integration with Agency Just like the Ballistic Shield, the Police Badge integrates with the Agency system introduced in LSPDFR 0.4. It is possible to use a custom badge model on a per agency basis.

Ballistic Shield
Ballistic Shield This feature was added in LSPDFR 0.4.2 and is unavailable in previous versions. The Ballistic Shield is a new feature in LSPDFR 0.4.2 which allows the player to equip a protective ballistic shield. The shield offers a degree of protection from bullets and other projectiles, although it only partially covers the body. While using the Ballistic Shield, your character will be put into 'Action Mode' - similar to how their movement changes when they fire a weapon. You can press or (by default) to change between 'Action' and 'Stealth' mode, which will vary your character's pose and movement speed accordingly. The Ballistic Shield can be equipped (and unequipped) by using the Interaction Menu, where it can be found in the Inventory section. An officer with a Ballistic Shield equipped in LSPDFR 0.4.2 Agency Integration Like the Police Badge, the Ballistic Shield is integrated with the Agency system in LSPDFR, so that each Agency can be assigned a specific type of shield. For example, a riot police agency could use a clear plastic riot shield, whereas another agency could use a more traditional hard metal shield. This is configurable by editing the ShieldModel element in the Agency XML. Note that while the Ballistic Shield is equipped, certain features may be unavailable.

Why is the AI Cops combat ability shit?
I will look into this further as what you describe sounds like a problem.

Why is the AI Cops combat ability shit?
If you are talking about during a pursuit, it might be easier to just set Lethal Force to "Forced On" in the Pursuit Menu. https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04/features/pursuits/

A humble audio project.
This sounds interesting, but your links are broken?

Why is the AI Cops combat ability shit?
In the wise words of @LMS, if you have a bad config, sooner or later something is going to go wrong. Coincidentally this was probably one of the number one complaints about 0.3, we toned it down for 0.4 as such.

Can you edit LSPDFR's dispatch tones?
The files for this are in 'lspdfr\audio\scanner\RESIDENT' DISPATCH_INTRO_01 DISPATCH_INTRO_02

LSPDFR 0.4.2 - Coming Soon!
Hot off the release of LSPDFR 0.4 a couple of months ago, we're upping the ante with another update which brings not only sweeping improvements to the LSPDFR 0.4 API, but also some unique features which have long been requested. Originally, the plan was merely to release 0.4.2 as a quick follow-up to 0.4 and 0.4.1 - just simple fixes and changes, plus the API improvements to help developers make the most of 0.4. Necessary changes, but not really cool enough, right? So, with that in mind we took a little time to dig back into the archives of LSPDFR and revisit some of our old concepts and ideas. Now, while some of these are actually in the mod - they're most likely either tucked away as 'easter eggs' or just disabled because they weren't quite right. If you're a connoisseur of traffic stops, for example, you might've noticed that occasionally the unexpected and oh so demoralizing experience of pulling over a federal agent hits you right in the feels as they arrogantly flash their shiny badge, tell you where to stick your comparatively less shiny badge, and drive off. (If you haven't seen this before, here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HNOxZR2ak0M) Originally the plan was to add this as a feature for players to use, but it just didn't quite fit in with 0.3, and we had some trouble with the animation not being quite as fluid as we'd like. That was then, though, and given that you now play as your own character both on and off duty, we thought it'd be a bit of a must-have now, so we've tidied it up and are introducing it as a player action in 0.4.2. With one quick glance at the shimmering shield, her problems are suddenly your problems. (Note, a custom badge model is shown instead of the default FIB one - you will be able to define custom models to use on a per-agency basis) Now, not only does this look exceedingly awesome, but it serves a practical purpose too. Available both on and off-duty, showing your badge will clear any wanted level and may also instill the fear of the law in nearby citizens, potentially de-escalating the otherwise unavoidable confrontations that flare when you walk around Mirror Park without the latest iFruit phone, for example! Of course, that's not all. Continuing with the idea of adding things that are just generally cool, we know that people have wanted a ballistic shield feature in LSPDFR for quite some time. Sure, you can spawn one with a trainer or download another mod, but it's just not quite the same is it? We thought it'd be particularly sweet to have it at your fingertips instead, fully integrated with LSPDFR, ready to kick some butt. As if being Frank Tenpenny isn't cool enough... Our ballistic shield, accessed from the Interaction Menu, uses our new animation system in 0.4.2 which we think looks absolutely gorgeous. There's also the freedom to switch between Stealth and Action mode which will vary your pose accordingly, compatibility with most weapons and the potential for future AI support. Oh yeah, did we mention you can actually arrest people at gunpoint while holding a freaking shield?! Keep your eyes open for LSPDFR 0.4.2, coming soon.

Disable the whole 'character' and RP idea
Have you tried creating preset characters? You can use custom ped models there, although you might wish to consider using custom outfits instead of custom ped models. We are 'over the pond' too! And I think 0.4 is actually quite simple. If you haven't, give this a read: https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04/features/characters/

Possible to implement badge-flashing for plainclothes?
Nope, it's actually a little easter egg in LSPDFR. Has been in since 0.3. To answer your question, this was something we had thought about doing with the 0.4 character system but didn't quite have the time to do.
