coastiestevie reacted to Pipeline in LSPDFR 0.4 - The TechnologyI certainly don't wish to start some big debate/argument, but I will say this - in my view, it is not that men commit more crimes than women, it's just that women are less likely to be caught, prosecuted, jailed, etc. Therefore the statistics are skewed. Furthermore, sometimes it is the case that a woman will incite a man to violence, making him do her "dirty work" without her risking getting in trouble. There is also the phenomenon of women being defended by men who believe that they are being attacked or some such, even when that isn't the case. Even when it is just an unfalsifiable claim.

coastiestevie reacted to Pipeline in LSPDFR 0.4 - The TechnologyIt isn't even as if randomised suspects and victims would be "untrue" - a criminal is a criminal, gender is not relevant. But yes, challenging the stereotype would be fantastic, you're right.

coastiestevie reacted to EscapePodTester in LSPDFR 0.4 - The TechnologyAgreed 100%, would be a little unexpected twist to keep you on your toes. Real life policing is about going down every avenue and not just the ones that are more likely to be true, so it would be nice if 0.4 gave us little surprises like this. And obviously it would help challenge the stereotype which would also be fantastic.

In the EUP 7.4 Update, Alex Ashfold added the empty holster model. If you want this to work, you will need a config line for the cop holster.ini file. I got this one from the faq of EUP. Made by Alex

coastiestevie reacted to Hootman in Petition to Take-Two Interactive & Rockstar Games RE: OpenIV closingWhile I was posting a new negative review in steam, after I did I updated and 100 more had done the same in that little time..
68% of reviews in the last 30 days now show negative....over 14,000, most of which I'm sure date back to the past 2 days...
WTF Rockstar/Take-Two.....

coastiestevie got a reaction from xMoD in Petition to Take-Two Interactive & Rockstar Games RE: OpenIV closingI don't see how take two can do this... we own the game. We all paid money for this. WE own our copies of the game. We are free to do as we please on single player. Multiplayer is another story, however. I feel they are infringing on our rights as owners of the game.

coastiestevie got a reaction from Artic in changeing car namesYes, you can change a vehicle file from POLICE2 to POLICE or SHERIFF, however, it can cause issues if it's not optimized for that specific slot. Normally it doesn't affect anything except if you put a tahoe for example in the POLICE slot, which is a low sitting, 4 door sedan, it might flip over on fast turns. Then you have to get involved with vehicles.meta and change the handling data. Just rename the file and you'll be fine.

coastiestevie reacted to Will in Download Portal NewsI really doubt he's using the "old version" system for that. What Cyan is referring to is an automatic feature that IPS has where an old version of a file is retained in the server when a file is updated, and is supposed to allow members to download those old versions. If you click "See changelog" on some files, a list of versions will pop up that you can select from. You are supposed to then be able to download that old version, but it's never worked properly.
That's what we are removing. You should still be able to have multiple different files in a single upload.

coastiestevie got a reaction from Slushy in Check out ELS for V!These developers know what they're doing and I'm sure if we wait just a little bit longer, they will perfect it even better than GTA IV and we will all drop our jaws.

coastiestevie reacted to Cartres in Check out ELS for V!Anyone who's ever even tried to mod, whether it be GTA V or something else, understands that when you're dealing with volunteers giving their free time to make something for free, there are dozens of sacrifices that have to be made to make time for the project, but also to sacrifice the project for the variety of real life things that just...happen. I know nothing about Lt.Caine personally, nor do I know any of the individuals whom he holds close, but I can tell you that ELS V is probably not the thing he spends every day doing. In fact, it's probably what he does in his free time, for no pay, for US. He doesn't have a team of programmers at his disposal, and he's trying to make this modification as true to life, dynamic, adaptive, enjoyable, easy and BUG-FREE as possible, and I think those are listed in ascending levels of difficulty.
Do you think I'd love to know when he's going to release this mod which will likely be a turning point for LSPDFR? Hell yeah I would. Would I like to beg him to let me in on the Alpha so I can run around with ELS cars? You bet I would. But I shouldn't, and we shouldn't, because we owe him our patience. And we owe him our patience because he's not asking for our money. It's as simple as that.
