So, after six games spanning over 15 years, people have had more than enough time to play the incredible Grand Theft Auto franchise.

Every game has its perks, but what I want to know is;

What is your favorite Grand Theft Auto game and why?

The spin off "Stories" haven't been included as I don't count them as part of the mainstream games.

Mine was a close battle between San Andreas and Vice City, both of these games were incredible. Vice City allowed you to relive the glorious 80s in a world replicant of Miami while San Andreas chucked you into a copycat world of Los Angeles with the gangster lifestyle seen in movies.

I'd have to pick Vice City though. It had a brilliant soundtrack and copied some gameplay elements from one of the best films in history, Scarface

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

In my order:

1. San Andreas (because of the awesomwe wide country scene and the diffrent styles of the citys)

2. Vice City (because it has that "Scarface" like atmosphare and 80s Miami.. It was fun

3. GTA 4 (simply because of the little details and other great great stuff. People say gta 4 took the fun part away but thats not true. I still laught my ass of a lot of thing in that game)

4. GTA III (loved the story and the GTA III Liberty City looked like every east coast city in one BUT it's also the first game where the main caracter was not able to fart anymore :D)

5. GTA II (because of the futureistic theme)

6. GTA I (and the legend began)

In the following order, from my favorites, to least favorites:

1. GTA San Andreas: It had a good story, and great variety (Country side, desert, city's, etc...).

2. GTA Vice City: It had a great story, characters, and theme (setting, time period, soundtrack, voice acting).

For me, it's a tie between San Andreas and Vice City, I only put Vice City second because I had to pick one of them to put below.

3. GTA IV: Realism, great story, and characters.

4: VCS: Great follow-up to Vice City, great soundtrack (again), characters, and new gameplay elelments. I know we're not counting LCS and VCS, but I feel as if they belong in my list, as they are important games of the franchise

too.

5: GTA III: Great weapons, simple but crisp gameplay, addictive (the sound of picking up guns and such), and started the 3D era.

6: GTA LCS: Okay characters, bad soundtrack, okay story.

7: GTA I: I've never played it, but it started it all.

8: GTA II: I played the demo, but I just couldn't get into it.

Gotta be Vice City as number 1 for me, I adored everything in that game (Vehicles, Soundtrack, Setting, Story, ect...). But San Andreas is close behind, I liked the idea of having Country side/Desert and city just a drive away and also all the vehicle mods *drools*.

However I love GTA IV simply because of the look and realism of the game.

I liked San Andreas alot, But since i have been playing IV alot with all the graphic mods etc. I still go with GTA IV as the best one.

Because when i go back to SA now it just looks like ****, Cant wait for GTA V because thats gonna be the most epic gta ever,

GTA 1 was my favourite because thats where it started for me, Not to forget Vice city!. God that was epic

Back in town!

San andreas, So much to do, in GTA4... you don't feel like your living, in San andreas you could head to the gym, find some easter eggs, or just search for a plane to drive.

We need more GTA games with planes

San Andreas hands down is my favorite. It's a classic, and the pinnacle of that particular engine. There was so much to do in that game, and so many places to go, you never got bored. GTA IV is a close second for me, I love the realism and obviously the ability to use LCPDFR and such, but stock that game got boring real quick. Had GTA IV come with all the silly things to do, like even just going to the gym or having to eat, it would've made a much more immersive, entertaining experience IMO.

That being said, I'm noticing some parallels between the GTA3 series and GTA IV series. GTA IV is to GTA3 as EFLC is to Vice City. With that logic in mind, I think GTA5 will be the pinnacle of the current Rage engine.

All baseless speculation, of course.

I think the most well done one so far is GTA IV (as it should be, since it's newer) but GTA III is my favorite GTA game. I grew up with the series, and that was undoubtedly the one that revolutionized the third person shooter/action/driver game type. It had so much depth within the world that I could (and still can to this day) ride around liberty city just doing random crap to pedestrians, cops, my cars, myself. lol My friends and I loved every minute of it.
