Texture loss

Featured Replies

Happy with the release and new features but the texture issues are KILLING me. My computer is built to play GTA 5 WELL above 60 FPS and I wouldn't expect any issues with 24 Gigs of memory but I have disappearing buildings etc... Tried the solution to disable preloading models that was posted but still no luck. Can't wait for it to be fixed.

I have the Vancouver based police pack which was just recently added, the EUP protect and serve and law and order. Visual V with Radiance, ELS and RGS sound mod. Did the same thing with Vanilla too unfortunately.

I have this car pack too and I have the same issue.

Try lowering your texture from 4k to 2k. LSPDFR keeps putting cops onto the beat which results in more ai cops spawned which kills your texture.

You use Open IV and find the modded vehicles texture file, and check if it is 2048*2048 or 4096*4096, if it only comes with 4k ones, export the selected texture and use some basic editors to resize it to 2k. It helps a lot

as @loleikz said, this seems to be a texture res overload. That pack uses a lot of 4K skins. I have a 32GB RAM, GTX 1080 and i7 6700K OC and I would still have that issue. Unless you have an i9 everyone will. Even if you play your vanilla flawlessly. Use gimp or paint.net to change image size from 4096x4096px to 2048x2048px and import those 2K

I had the same problem even before the release of 0.4.

I follwed these steps:

Step 1: Lower the textures of your modded vehicles from 4k to 2k with OpenIV. You might have to download textures for your cars that are only in 2k. Sometimes only this step is enough to fix the problem, for me it wasn't enough though.

Step 2: If you're using VisualV, Radiance or something similar you might have to lower your graphic settings ingame just a bit. There are two specific options I had to adjust, but I don't remember which ones, unfortunately. I might have to check it out again. Anyway, for me that was the solution even though my computer should in theory be able to run the game on ultra well.

Step 3: Some people suggested to run GTAV on "high priority" CPU settings through the task manager. It might have worked for some, for me that created other problems like the game not even starting, so I'd be careful with that. But since some people said it helped, I wanted to give you this option, too.

If you're having issues with texture loss while using LSPDFR and other mods (mainly modded vehicles), you can try the following:

Set Main.PreloadAllModels to false in the lspdfr.ini file.

More information on how to do this can be found here: https://www.lcpdfr.com/wiki/lspdfr/04/features/settings/

This was posted by @Sam and that fixed the issue for me!!

I tried that but didn’t work at first. Changed the car models I was using and it has worked so far. Not sure why it was doing that. I’ve never had a problem using any other LSPDFR version

I have an i9 and 1080ti and still have texture pop. Only if I have redux installed while going on duty though.

Yup. That's on GTA 5's end. You guys' PCs are fine. Its the way GTA handles modding and non-native files. Theres always ways to otimize it but takes a good amount of effort and you still cant do the impossible.

so i changed all my cars and still getting texture loss i have run out of ideas and i tried putting it down do direct 10 and still getting it all my cars  are 2K  And  my PC is a I78700k, 1080ti 11GB graphics card, 64 GB Ram,TB Samsung evo SSD if someone can let me know if anyone knows a fix i would be awesome
