Again, you are ignoring one of the most important thoughts in my argument. Not everyone can fight off an attacker, and an attacker doesn't always stop at money or valuable items. A small woman would find it incredibly hard if not impossible fight off an average sized male. An elderly man who broke a bone the last time he fell down couldn't use a baseball bat to any measure of effectiveness.

 

I know it's a life we are talking about, but I am talking about lives that have no value to an attacker. I put the value of the life of a law abiding citizen over some one who is actively hurting people for personal gain in his/her life.

 

Your solution is bashing some one's head in with a baseball bat. That seems like a much more violent way to go than being shot, and blunt force trauma is the cause of death in thousands of homicides a year in the United States. The courts won't decide what decision you make before you make it. And again, what if an attacker(s) has an advantage on you?

 

I'm not a religious man, the quote was there solely to demonstrate my point that firearms are an equalizer and a tool for self defense.

I think it's time to drop the whole circular gun debate once again. The same facts and arguments come up every time, and there really is no need to continue it here. I seriously doubt any change will happen by arguing it on a forum for GTA V mods.

 

I'll leave the topic open in case there are any updates on the actual story itself, but lets keep gun control out of it.

A far smarter decision than the mainstream media or politicians are capable of.

The 7th and 8th paragraph will say a lot on the issue of mental illness decisions.

 

   This is just a link to the distrust that flows around the mental heath debate that many of the new generation do not know about, or they refuse to look at.  Mental heath is a major issue in society period.  But in the case of enacting laws that will go on the books, and more than likely never get off,  everyone needs to be smart about the subject and question anything and everything that could go wrong with the situation.  So remember that, when you call for mental heath reform, you are allowing another individual that may be plagued by there own political belief (that includes religion) to make a decision that could determine your future.  Also take in mind that someone could be perfectly fine one day and the next they can snap.
