Yeah, I won the lottery. You're staring at my spendings.

  • Well actually that is a movie prop for the Hungarian movie industry. It has magnetic decals and a few other lightbars. There is an almost authentic LAPD Caprice and some CrownVic taxis. ( Note the ,,U

  • My new CrownVic... got it today :D It will be painted and equipped with a lightbar soon :)

Did you know the Crown Vic has been around since the 50s? Better known as the Ford Fairyland Crown Victoria

1953-1955. And it's Ford Fairlane.

CVPI is Love. CVPI is Life.

OT: I think Ford made a large mistake when they discontinued the venerable CVPI.

heres a quote ive stolen from Yahoo answers, as to why they stopped production

"I emailed Ford a few weeks ago asking them why they discontinued the Crown Victoria. They responded by telling me that it was due to the shift in the market from rear wheel to front wheel drive, and that over the past several years their sales declined from over 250,000 units per year to about 90,000 units annually.

I think one of the reasons that sales were on the decline is that Ford had neglected to upgrade and redesign their panther cars. They could have made them more fuel efficient and even offer a hybrid version but they didn't. By neglecting the Crown Victoria they actually killed off the one car they were making a profit on.

Before Ford discontinued the Crown Victoria on Sept. 15th 2011 I read a news paper report that stated sales increased by over 64% this year because police departments, car rental agencies and taxi companies wanted to snap up as many of these cars as possible before their production ended. This goes to show contrary to Ford's claim there is still a demand for full size rear wheel drive cars. Now the 64% increase does not include the Lincoln Town Car that was built at the same plant. There was also an increase in the sales of the Town Car as limo companies wanted them as well. As for the Mercury Grand Marquis that model was dropped after Ford discontinued the Mercury brand in 2010.

Because both the Town Car and Crown Victoria were built on the same assembly line there were well over 100,000 unit per year being made there, so Ford should have just continued with these cars out of that plant. After all they were profitable products.

Ford's claim in their email to me does not hold water either due to the fact other car companies such as Chrysler builds the rear drive 300, Challenger and Charger. These cars sell very well proving there still is a market for rear drive cars.

Anyone on here who is a fan of the full size panther cars should send letters or email Ford to ask them to come out with another rear drive car.

Ford also has a website called The Ford Story http://www.thefordstory.com where you can read up on the latest models and even make suggestions as what you would like Ford to develop and come out with."

fordstory doesn't work anymore, but this may be the same site

What the hell is up with that lightbar? It's like an old school twin beacon ray. Although, it is cool that they have the rambar and spotlights.

I'm a huge fan of the brand, but I live in Europe, so only saw a few of them IRL :D Do police agencies in the US still have them? In newer COPS episodes not a single one appears :(

The bigger question is... why the fuck is there a Ford Crown Victoria in a game set in Australia? We don't have the FCV here, they were never imported. If you're going to add a police car at-least make it Australian for a game set in Australia for fucks sake. Get the Australian cousin of the FCV in there, the Falcon.
