Most Moving Moments of TV

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

This topic will be somewhat like the good music thread that was started.

Basically post what you consider the most dramatic, awe inspiring, or just in general best moments of TV.

Rules

  • Only post one 'moment' at a time
  • Only post again if someone else has posted in between (Aka if you were the last person to reply, wait for someone else)
  • Provide info as to what TV show/ Episode it is from
  • Make sure to post a video, not a picture or something like that.

I will start this off:

This is from Season 2, Episode 22 of "The West Wing"

It strikes me because it is unlike anything they had done in the show previously, and was very moving (The church they pass on the way had just held a funeral for one of the president's closest friends)

Context and backstory always make a scene much more powerful than the scene itself on its own, especially when you've became attached to the characters and their stories, however this is one of my favourite scenes from Clannad ~After Story~ Episode 18. There's some spoilers obviously, but I tried to keep them down to minimum by picking this scene over some of the more spoiler heavy ones.

I know nobody will watch it because it's an anime but whatever. I don't watch "normal" TV series and Clannad is seriously one of the best shows I've ever had the pleasure of watching. It's a roller-coaster of emotions, one moment you're laughing and the next you're bawling your eyes out.

Anyway, here's one from Click. It's my favorite Adam Sandler movie, and the only one that actually can tear you up towards the end.

In this scene, he awakes from his hospital bed (having fast-forwarded through most of his life already, with the time travelling remote control), and he staggers his way outside after his family.

The Wire S01E10Many of you might not have watched this series but if you are into policing you should.

<snip!>

I don't have one to contribute (yet!), but holy hell yes! The Wire is ESSENTIAL viewing, not just for people interested in policing, but for people interested in incredible television, and life in general. Easily one of the top five dramas of all time, and that scene was one of the best. I've actually been considering watching the whole series again, since they re-released it in widescreen HD. Great call dude!

I know this is from a miniseries but this is what i think what was most moving to me.

This is from a miniseries called Band Of Brothers which follows the 101st Airborne division, 506th PIR. Easy Company from their training in 1942, the jump on June 6th 1944 (D-Day), the Fail of Operation Market Garden, all the way to cold winters of Bastogne. Its a wonderful show, it is very touching and shows the horrors of war during the European campaign.

One of the scenes i picked is Private David Webster (Played by Eion Bailey) yelling and cursing at the German POWs as they march to a camp. I feel this scene shows a solider who did not want to be there and wondering why the German army and Adolf Hitler dragged them across the world to fight them.

From Season 1 Episode 9 (Why We Fight)

Warning graphic language and scenes. Please watch at your own risk!
