If LCPDFR was invited as a Game Feature on GTAV

Featured Replies

First of all I do know and respect the modders community that its impossible at this point to determine if GTA V will even be available for PC or be modifiable on PC if applicable. (And yes, I do realize that this chance of being even remotely possible on GTA V is odds of 1 out of Infinity)

But wouldn't it be amazing if RockStar noticed this mod as a game feature? I mean think about it... if rockstar knew about this, they could actually intentionally add this mod as a feature... perhaps call it LS or SA PDFR (Los Santos/San Andreas). And of course they would mention the entire crew of G17 for making it happen and the idea of it. I'd say we should start a huge thing about this so that people who would want to take part as the police, if only Rockstar knew the potential out of this mod, because I sure as hell do. Plus side if they even let G17 have their doing with First Responder on GTA V it will not only make the game more appealing, but as well make it the best open world game for everyone. Lets sign a petition and send it to Rockstar to add this simple, yet exciting mod. :)

Or I could be wrong, maybe Dan Houser knows of this mod and thinks to him self, "screw vigilantly, maybe we can allow this out the end of the story line so when the player gets board they can do this if they wish." On that note, I think G17 should surely be noticed for the awesome work on this mod, it adds a huge verity to the game series, probably not as a main story line, but as a side boardom mini game.

I'm sure of course the police cars and AI will be really much smarter then GTA IV because what they say in the press release is pretty cool: "the entire engine is going to be rebuilt."

What do you think?

it would be nice but, there is already a mod called SAPDFR, somebody on GPM created the script i think, also, to actually script the mod to be compatible with GTAV would take a long time IF it's even possible, that's kinda what suck's about anticipating a good game, you want to be excited about it, but at the same time you don't want to be disappointed, also, i HIGHLY doubt AI anything will be smarter as R* won't be itching to focus on the police aspect of thing's, plus we don't know if it's going to even be moddable, apparently LT.Caine is for sure coming back to rewrite the ELS script and again, no one know's if it's moddable, as for the engine being rebuilt, look at bethesda, they made really good fall out game's and Oblivion, then Skyrim (which still blows my mind) they made on a new engine and still, game crashes and freezes..

the police mission's in GTAIV i'm pretty sure they just stuck in there, LCPDFR was in PC Gamer magazine, i wanna say twice?, so, they probably already know about the mod.

EDIT: if the mod was implemented somehow, i don't really see how it would be LCPDFR

Right. I agree with you, but you know how LCPDFR is such a huge influence on GTA IV, its a small yet complex script. I'd say it would really draw interest in a lot of gamer's because to say the least, there isn't really a Police video game out there to do these type of things. And again, that would really draw out a line of new features and use it as a mini game.

Plus if it was really up to me, personally I would so add it to the game, of course I would probably let the player do the story and then have it available so they can have everything unlocked etc. :)

This may seem like a big community, but there are actually very very few people interested in RPing cops in GTA.

The most recognition we've ever had was a half-page feature in the February 2012 issue of PC Gamer magazine. Unfortunately after the 'hot coffee' scandal, Rockstar distanced themselves entirely from the modding community. It would be cool to get some sort of word or mention from Rockstar, or even if they invited us for a tour of their offices as they are in Edinburgh and so are we, but that's probably not going to happen :(

what is the "hot coffee scandal?"

what is the "hot coffee scandal?"

Click the spoiler.

Hot Coffee is a normally inaccessible minigame in the 2004 video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, developed by Rockstar North. Public awareness of the existence of the minigame arrived with the release of the Hot Coffee mod, created for the version released in 2005 for Microsoft Windows. This mod enables access to the minigame.

The minigame portrays sexual intercourse between the main character, Carl "CJ" Johnson, and his in-game girlfriend. The name of the mod is derived from the girlfriend's offer for the main character to come into her home for "coffee"

Its a sad truth that parents will ignore the age ratings and buy these games for their children and then accuse the developer of innapropriate content when in reality, its the parents fault in the first place.

And as gamers, we have every action that is considered wrong blamed on video games when in reality, there's much more internal issues that cause some peoples issues / rampages.

Take the recent PETA uproar about the killing of a fucking RAT in Battelfield 3. Jesus Christ, its ONE rat. MW3 Has dogs with C4 on their fucking backs!

It doesn't help matter's that video games are blamed for absolutely everything even by the people that re killing people, but in movies people can be hacked to shit and that can be considered entertainment, it really makes no sense, they just keep contradicting themselves with laws that make NO SENSE WHATSOEVER.

It's because people who make laws stopped knowing or caring about video games in 1979 or so. Movies, they can understand, but not these kids with their newfangled "vee-dee-oh games".

Oh, god, that just makes me want to find these ignorant fucks, and yell right in their faces.

Just to clarify a few things since I get this same question on my YouTube account PM'd to me literally every week:

-No, this will more than likely NOT be a feature in GTA IV. The name of the game is 'Grand Theft Auto'. Not 'Bait Car'. The thousands of people who have downloaded this mod may seem like a lot, but Rockstar Games sees millions of copies of this game sold, and the majority of them are on the XBOX and Playstation. The PC version is an afterthought at best, and quite frankly I think we're lucky they even make one conisdering how little money they make off of it. As stated earlier, most people who buy GTA don't want to roleplay as police officers. They want to beat up hookers, snort coke off of a strippers ass and shoot pedestrians and any cops that get in their way under the cloak and veil of a storyline about a guy who has to struggle through the criminal underworld of a major city to get to the top. They only have to pay with $60 and a few dozen hours of their time to do that, so people of all ages (literally) are willing to do that. They get to put their cares and normal law abiding caution to the side and break some rules for a few hours a day.

-If a PC version does come out (Rockstar may value consoles higher, as everyone does these days, but they know what their fans want and they usually listen), it will probably be modable in the same way that GTA IV is. Not directly. We won't get an SDK of any sort. The process will probably have to be repeated all over again. GTA:SA was different from GTA III and GTA Vice City in the same way that Coke and RC Cola are different from Pepsi. They are dressed up versions of the same thing. GTA V doesn't wow me graphically, and that's because it's using the same game engine as GTA IV. However, they will probably have added in some new physics coding by now, as well as new graphical options and AI changes which will make the re-designing of almost every mod we use now (car skinning aside) an inevitability.

-And lastly, 'Hot Coffee' wasn't really a mod. Someone who had the PC version changed a Boolean variable in the game's coding to enable a feature that the Rockstar developers hid. They used it to get a laugh while testing the game, and were too lazy to remove it before launching the product. They were forced to stop sales of the game at one point, to remove the particular code, then re-produce the game again. I assure you they will not make the same mistake again. Rockstar may not be perfect, but they're not stupid. They'll learn (and have learned) from mistakes like Rockstar Social Club and 'Hot Coffee'.

So basically Unr3l what your saying as far as (the process will have to be repeated again) it will be AT LEAST a year before the game is even moddable?

I also second the fact that people prefer the console version as everything is already done for them, the "lazier" people who can't be bothered with patching and downloading features themselves, then a majority of them go on youtube and see mods then repeatedly ask stupid question's like "are these for xbox" or "how do i get these on my ps3", if people REALLY knew and understood that the work it takes a modder to install/create mods, it's really worth while, i'll probably get the console version myself only to play the missions and not ask stupid IRRITATING questions.

Majority always beats Minority.

I really don't see the problem though, its just a simple script that can be implemented. Oh well....even if GTA V was not for pc and not moddable, we still have GTA IV so its not like they are taking all the games off the shelf once GTA V gets on the shelfs.

Oh and just an add note to that "Mature" rated games, my aunt is so confusing. My little 13 year old cousin loves gears of war 3 and he can't play it because of the rating says his mom, but for some stupid reason he is allowed to watch the Movie SAW, Saving Private Ryan, and any other bloody movies out there.... that's so damn confusing and it pisses me off that I cant get him Mature games, I mean to say the least, most of the really good games are Rated M.
