Yep, Im Dutch too. Dont worry too much, just stay away from big cities like Amsterdam and Rotterdam and you´ll be alright.

Im Dutch to. The worst thing you can do is avoiding places. That's a point of weakness. Life goes on. You won't be safe anywhere If you think like that. Im going to London for a week next week. Im not gonna change that.

  • I'm going to be that guy who says "where was our thread when 35 people in Ankara, Turkey were killed as a result of a car bomb a few weeks ago?" or what about the most recent suicide bomb that went of

  • Again more, cowards pushing their confused understanding of a peaceful religion through terrorist attacks. Rest in Peace to all victims. Hopefully this isn't something which is again taken out on all

  • Can only imagine if an LSPDFR player in Brussels, of which there are many, were to come on here to get away from it all and when opening this topic instead of seeing simple messages of support

Agreed on that, we shouldnt let terror run our lifes. Let me restate that statement. Pay attention to your country´s goverment and defence system, Brussel was on high allert for a long time. You could tell this one was about to come. If shit starts hitting the fan you should stay away from crowded places. Brussel officials raided an aprtment building that had 11 Kalasnikovs and ISIS banners all over the place. When those things happen I recommend staying away from those crowded places, cause thats the point that you´re sure something is up.

(Ja, dat is waar) Yes, that's true. It are some hard times. And I think they will continue, sadly.

The EU needs to come together as a whole and discuss this issue, which is currently a bit difficult. There are abviously massive leaks in the system. All that these terrorists need to do is bring in a shipment of guns and explosives and they are pretty much free to roam the EU with them. We need some tighter borders, a better trained and well equiped police force, one that can actually handle terrorisme when they see it, tighter security on public transport and a tighter security on mainports.

If I recall correctly you're military personnel, I would argue that isn't caring in terms of the job you do but that's only because I am exceptionally anti-war. I see no need for it, I see no need for nuclear deterrents or the need for guns. But I can't tell you what you do and don't care about, it's your personal belief and I wont interfere with that.

I understand you perfectly, the minor part where you are wrong is the fact it doesn't do anything good to anyone. You can change the world with a single idea 1 person at a time. And to be obnoxiously iterative, that's all I'm doing here. Yes the incident in Brussels is tragic, but just for a minute spare a thought for the Turkish, or for the Syrians, or for the Russians or for anyone going through this. If you care and tell others to care, others will care and do the same. It spreads :)

Well, Luke. Belgium is next to Germany, where i'm from. We even have the same colors in our national flag. Of course it touches me more than one of the countless attacks in Turkey. Because it's right outside my front door. And it can happen to my people all the time, too. In reality the earth isn't a place where everybody cares about others. Everybody cares about themselves and maybe about their people, like i do. And that's okay. It's sad, because no one, except human scum, deserves a death like that. But that's it. Well, and for the religion thing. I don't know where you from. But we have plenty of muslim and arabian people in here. And sadly i have to say, i'm not a big fan of their way to live and their attitude for life. There is always trouble with these people. So, i can't take amiss, if people get angry when they see them in public. It's their attitude and behavior. Before i get hatered messages. One of my buddies is tunisian and he thinks and says the same.

I was very saddened to hear these news earlier today, and I hope that whomever responsible is able to answer for their crimes. My thoughts go out to those affected.

On a completely unrelated note, I would never think that Belgium police force uses our old BTRs-80 with police lights attached. Well, they're pretty good at lighting up scum: terrorists tested, Russian Army approved.

That's not Belgian, that's Hungarian. At least, I think it's Hungarian, based on wikipedia. It's definitely not Belgian though.

Found out about it shortly before heading off to school for an exam test thingy. Everyone managed to concentrate, but it did spark quite a discussion afterwards, also due to everyone instantly getting scared of anything suspicious.

No-one really seemed to give a rats ass on my school, which is quite weird since Im on a HAVO/VWO school (for those who arent Dutch its a school for people with an IQ higher than 105). I expected people to be all over it, but I guess Im one of the few people.

To think I was in all those places a couple of months ago... My condolences to the victims and their families - my thoughts are with Brussles.

I hope that the perpetrators are brought to justice (if they haven't all blew themselves up already) and that appropiraite actions are taken to make sure such events do not happen again.

If there's one thing I learned from there, it's that most people there generally don't give a shit about anything that doesn't directly involve them. Sadly, this is one of those cases.

Well, it'll sort of affect them now. There are cops with (heavy) body armor and MP5's patrolling the bigger stations, including the central station of the city I live in. They stand out quite a lot, though it seems most people don't feel uncomfortable due to it, which is a good thing.

Yeah, And NOW this bloody websites adds Belgian colours into the letters of "LSPDFR". Didn't give a shite about Istanbul, did ya?

Hypocritical inglorious bastards.

Thank you for your feedback.

Although, I'd suggest that an attack on a western country and culture will resonate a lot deeper with western audiences -- which is what the majority of our site consists of.

Go away. Please. You're more than welcome to create a thread about the Turkish attacks yourself since you're so inclined to bring it up in such a manner on my thread about the Brussels attacks again.

And it's not that we "don't give a shit", terrorism of any kind in any place is completely fucked up and shouldn't happen, however due to the way Western media works (set demographics) it's obvious that an attack on a Western country (in Europe) is going to get more coverage than an attack on Turkey.

Again, show some respect. This is absolutely ridiculous that staff has to step in and tell people to show respect during a tragedy such as this. We will begin issuing sanctions for people not interested in following common courtesy rules in this thread. If you have something unrelated to discuss (politics, x happened there, why are you not talking about it here and so on) take it someplace else.

Oh no, don't worry about them. Those who blow themselves up are usually only brainwashed zealots. Their leaders are safe and sound now and may even enjoy the comfort of some Western country. instead of sticking in their beloved desert. Well Belgium and French cops found those who set up the Paris attacks. I think they'll find someone responsible here as well.

Meanwhile here our government doesn't seem to worry too much. No security increase noticed, at least by me.
