If i remember correctly back in LCPDFR you could press a key and it would run the name of the person you just got ID off of.I think it would be nice to have this feature back again for Controller users like myself that constantly have to switch between keyboard and controller.

And it would mean that i wouldn't have to spend 2 mins trying to spell some crazy long exotic name :P 

This is already a feature? It's been a while since i've played 0.3 although i do believe you can radio in the suspects details.

I personally like trying to type in these horribly weird exotic names. Well, I don't like it too much but I don't mind it either. It's those things that make the duty different too. It can be funny trying to type long names before the notification disappears.

About the LCPDFR feature, you could get the ID of a person and then call it in to dispatch who would then check it for you. I always did it because of some weird laziness symptoms but I wouldn't ever do it again thinking of it now.

You can, but you still have to type it into the box yourself. @officerAMR is talking about a feature that does it all for you because it would be very convenient for controller users.

I do use one for driving too but as said above, I don't mind typing it. :D

I always find these suggestions amusing.

I've seen so many threads now that either have "hey I don't want to type in names can we have a feature that does it automatically" or "Hey I like typing crazy shitloads of words and things can we have a feature that lets us fill in reports because microsoft word isn't good enough and I'm a mentalist"

....I think I just had a crazy moment

Anywho, radio in suspect feature might be better tweaked to doing the automatic name search, and police computer for the elite essay writers, but that's just my opinion.

Thats what i'm getting at, maybe have one for people who like to type  super long names 'Reginald Kuznetsov' and have an option for lazy buggers like me who would rather call it in. 

Not needing to type a name would increase the compatibility with other mods that use Letters (like Vehicle Control, Train Simulator etc.).

And as a gamepad gamer it would be more comfortable, too ^^

I agree, there should be a couple of options

I agree on implementing a call-in system instead having to type in the suspects' names because using the police computer in the car just sucks as you would potentially mess with many keybindings used by other mods. Of course you can run their information outside the car but it kinda decreases the realism.

I don't think it is, and that's a good thing. It would decrease realism tenfold.

I personally liked the LCPDFR system where the name of the last person you checked appears while typing in the police computer. This could be pretty easily implemented by adding a few lines of code, making LSPDFR have a LastPersonaChecked field, from which the name is taken and displayed as a subtitle while typing in the police computer/radio. @LMS might be a nice idea?  

As for the keybinding issues with other mods: just tell the authors of those mods to fix this, as they're simply not implementing a simple check to see whether the police computer is open before making something happen. I've personally ensured all of my modifications check whether the police computer is open before acknowledging a keypress.

there is the rage computer that works with rage 37 and 38 ..when u check id from pulling someone over it has a little box at the bottom that has the person id and it stays there as long as u have them stopped and u also get a picture of the person i think it adds much realism to the game
