Does RDE brings down performance?

Featured Replies

Hello everybody,

I installed RDE, but suddenly got ~30FPS, but before I installed RDE I got 60+FPS. Is this normal, or have I done something wrong. Maybe it's just caused by the amount of chages it makes to the game, but I think that 30FPS is not worth it. Do you also have this problem and is it normal. Or is it abnormal and if so, should it be fixed?

Thanks,

Hi!

I haven't found any significant performance impact, however RDE does require more resources as it loads extra models into the game.

Plus there's more traffic. I haven't experienced any performance drops, at least not more than I have when playing vanilla. It really depends on the count of script mods you have (with too many plugins I'll get FPS loss) and on your system.

But it does somehow affects spawns of gangs around the city, which is strange.

How does it affect the spawns? Is there more gang stuff going on? Less?

I have a feeling that almost everyone in a city is a gang member now, in all districts. One shot, and the map is filled with red dots.

Weird, I didn't notice that. For me it's just that when I hit someone, one or two people are angry at me. No shooting.

Check if you have relationships.dat in modded update.rpf/common/data. If you do, get rid of it.

Try using the low end gameconfig, it spawns way less traffic, which should help with performance.

Low end game config, doesn't change that youre settings in game (settings.xml)?

I have a r390 with 4gb of vram and 8gb of ram.

No, it changes the gameconfig.xml. Graphical settings are unchanged. You shouldn't have problems with this hardware you have though. What's you CPU?

I've just noticed this. I was sat at the traffic lights in an unmarked cruiser, all of a sudden a vehicle pulls up alongside me with two gang members in it. They proceed to get out and begin attacking me for no reason at all. They appear on the map as red blips.

This happened 3 times in the space of 20 minutes.

Same problem, even if youre not on-duty.

I think I fixed the issue - could you try this file and let me know if it fixes the random attacks?
