Need help buying/building or upgrading a computer?

Featured Replies

Either like a 3930K or a 4700K and a matching motherboard but they're both substantially more expensive. And yes, that would run LCPDFR and all of the fancy mods fine, but the point of getting better specs is to be prepared for the future. When or if GTA V comes out for PC as an example. I'd be better prepared for its demanding game engine at higher details settings than someone running the build I posted. I don't like turning details down.

think ill have to hold off on an intel for a little while lol, thats a good pricetag. im basically just wanting to build a semi- inexpensive computer to run lcpdfr smoothly and some other games out at the moment, ill most likely get gta v for the xbox anyway.

I doubt it will. If I told you my current PC can run GTAIV maxed out with an ENB with 100 FPS, would you believe me? I have a Radeon HD 4350, an AMD Phenom II 910 and 8gb of memory. Do you even know w

  • Is that even a PC? Regardless, can you post your specs please?

Aw hell naw. That thing will either blow up or implode when you play GTA.

Welp...I just blew a lotta money today: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1pVnU

Can't say I'm upset. I've been wanting to build a computer for many years now, finally in a good place to do it. I have yet to buy the video card, and a few misc things...should I opt for the 4G card? or save $100 and do the 2G?

Unr3al, I can still return a few things hah. Anything I should revert back to? Again, not a budget build, more focused on serious gaming, minor graphic design and 3D rendering, and focusing on having a build that will last five years.

If you can afford the 4GB go for it. 2GB is enough for today's games but I like to future proof. Everyone has a price ceiling though.

hello, I have a asus laptop right now before I started playing  gta but I have it now and it runs like crap oon it,even on lowest settings it runs ok but not good...What is a great computer that I can get for a budget lets say $400-$600 . Its what I have to work with now so. I don't have the time or patience to buy part by part and make one, i'd rather just but a complete one ready to go. Suggestions please

My suggestion is to save up. Pre-built gaming computers don't cost $400-600. You could have maybe assembled one with a minimum starting point of $600, but not pre-built.

I mean I see gaming computers on bestbuy in that budget range but idk if they're good enough to run this game

I recently upgraded my bundle as I'm not that rich either. I work full time and I only get £540 a month but half of it goes to my bills :(

Here's what I went and bought.

Bundle Quad Core Asus

Intel I5 Quad Core 3.8 ghtz

4GB DDR3
and the Asus Motherboard

That was £279

I went and bought another 4gb ram which was only £20

Then bought an SSD 160GB + TB HDD total Cost = £140

Went on Ebay to buy a GTX 640 Nvidia Asus GDDR3 2GB (£60)

I didn't immediately buy all the things, I bought one thing at a time. When you buy one at a time, you don't realize you're spending that much.

Total cost: £490 and it plays GTA IV on the highest settings.

Good luck.

P.S. Don't buy the I7 if you really cannot afford it, I7 is mainly for rendering video editing, Photoshoppping, building softwares or gaming things. If you really want a good stable gaming rig? I'd recommend going for the I5 good budget one.

Saves you a lot of money in the long run. I hope this helps.

I this be a nice desktop computer, to run GTA IV  on and play lcpdfr?? If not where can I get a better deal, and a great one ranging from 500-750?? I am only buying it, just to play lcpdfr so I need y'all help. Below item is the one I am thinking about getting. Thanks!!

I don't know a lot about computers, but it seems like it will get the job done.

 ASUS CM6730-US011S Desktop

Processor 3.1 GHz Core i5-3330 RAM 8 GB DDR3 Hard Drive 1024 GB SATA Graphics Coprocessor Intel HD Graphics

Sorry if this was already said but there's 33 pages and I don't want to scan every post to see if someone said something similar to me.

I'm looking to build not buy but build a gaming desktop. I don't have a few grand to throw around on a computer as I'm trying to save up for a first car but I will be joining the Army Reserves and they pay you decent money and by decent I mean any amount is a lot to a 16 year old in high school lol.

Anyway I just want a computer that will be able to smoothly run GTA IV/EFLC without any lag (Around 30 frames) with ELS and LCPDFR. I'm thinking of somewhere in the middle of gaming computers, just a computer that will give me a pleasant gaming experience that I won't wanna punch my screen cause of poor gameplay, like my laptop does. I'm not looking for maxed out settings at 75 fps with 25 els cars in a chase with 5 helicopters. Maybe something that will play the game on high with 30 fps.

I'm not brand picky. If it does the job then I'll get it. I am Canadian so preferably help me out on Canadian sites, but I can always ship to my friend in Seattle if needed. I don't really have a price limit or budget. I just want to see what it would cost for an experience that is xbox related. Thanks!

My dad and I might get a new graphics card, our current one isn't working, and none of the Nvidia drivers or auto-find recognize it. As I've said a little before, we currently have a Nvidia GTX 550 ti. We were looking at the GTX 560 ti and a new PSU for it, and I was wondering if the 560 ti would fit a Dell XPS 8300 if the 550 ti does.

Would this computer run well with lcpdfr. I'm thinking of buying it? http://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/The-Little-Monkey/20773719/

That mediocre PC is really overpriced if it actually costs $1000, but then again I don't know how much the New Zeland dollar is worth, and don't car to research it.

I'm sorry ,but you could BUILD your own rig , for about the same price more or less , with a 6 core AMD processor , a 2GB graphics card , 8GB of ram and a better hard drive , for about $100 bucks more , and it would work alot better than that one

Guys I'm just wondering if I will be able to record my gameplay with ENB on this PC:

Proccesor: Intel Core i5-4570

Motherboard: B85M-E33

Ram: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz

Graphics card: nVidia GTX 650 2GB OC

Hard drive: 2TB

If you can help me plz help. Thank you  xsmile.png.pagespeed.ic.4tUibSscbZ.webp

I built myself a new pc a week ago.

CPU: Intel i7 4770

RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz

GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 2GB

Motherboard: Asus B85M-E

HDD: 2TB

I run IV with ENB with 45-55 fps on with everything on very high. I play BF3 on ultra with 60 fps, same goes for Splinter Cell Blacklist.
