Yup, a lot of research is being done as we speak. A REALLY good out look for vanilla ELS coming up.

In all honesty, this new discovery with light patterns is nice. But if thats as far as we can go with it.. I still prefer how ELS looks and feels over what is currently available, even with buggs new light set up.

So who is the creator of ELS V in case n e one including my self can donate for their time.To show appreciation for their hard work so far.

I thought it was Lt. caine but i saw on his page has not been active.

It's because he is signed in anonymously 

Lt.Caine is on vacation and will be back soon. I don't see why ELS is going to cease and decease because we can edit carcols now. At the very basic sense Carcol provides basic patterns, and some other small meaty bones. But I have to admit the ability to customize environmental lighting through carcols has very promising abilities. I have no doubt in my mind that Lt.Caine might research it and see if he can incorporate it into ELS but that's just my guess. When he gets back from his vacation he can decide the next best course of action. No more "RIP ELS " or any of this talk. Thanks, guys.

The RIP ELS is just poking fun. Obviously it's not dead and it will have superior features. I think many are still very much looking forward to it. 

However as someone else stated above.. the hype train has definitely left the station.

Theirs a video that prophet made on environment lighting for ELS i wonder how Lt. Cane got it to light up that way if not by carcols and i agree carcols does have promising abilities i cant wait till they figure out the amber color reflection in the rear if not done so

I dont think ELS is dead, but I do think everyone has lost hope in it coming out soon. Personally, I like the idea of ELS V and im excited for it, but the time spent waiting is annoying.

Not really.. that does not add ability for takedowns, cruise, or different lighting options, along with many other things..

this mod from experience is very unstable i haven't been able to get it to work even with a clean install 

 

I have.. however using Albo's version is much much better. Would recommend it over that one every day of the week. Using it now and no issues AT ALL.

I wonder what type of ELS we would get if Lt. Caine and Albo1125 worked together that would be so cool i bet we cant even imagine what it would be like 2 great ones working together

These developers know what they're doing and I'm sure if we wait just a little bit longer, they will perfect it even better than GTA IV and we will all drop our jaws.

I doubt it since they're taking a year for a simple modification such as this.

I'm not into GTA V modding so I don't really know how it works, it's just:

1. Hook directx's present function or some game drawing func from the VMTs of the game (RPH or scripthook probably do all that for you)

2. Detour and draw some ELS menu with a bunch of funcs that already exist

3. Write some logic for the ELS itself.

4. Spend a year making super cool pdfs with detailed instructions and really nice looking graphic
