  • If you can successfully manage to go this route rather than the extras, would this mean that all vehicle models currently released would automatically be compatible with ELS? Also would we have to use

The development takes but soon to be completed ?

I personally am hoping for a release of ELS V this month, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. To me it looks almost complete but we'll have to wait and see.

So impatient... must resist... urge to... store self in freezer and somehow be unfrozen on ELS V's release...

August? Aaargh... that's two months away... what circle of hell is "waiting for ELS V to release and knowing if you reinstall GTA IV to use ELS IV it'll just crash on you a lot"?

I totally understand wanting to take time to get things like... perfect. But it's always nice to remember that this is a niche group.. with freeware mods.. and users who don't mind getting iterations of improvement like a lot of the current good mods we see.

If this were payware, I think it'd make so much more sense to take all the time in the world to make it perfect, after all we'd be paying customers with high expectations ;)

Just saying.

I'm confused, are you implying you want Lt.Caine to charge us for ELS V or to release it as soon as it works and then improve it as they go?

No, I'm just saying it's freeware (and should remain).. so it doesn't need to be perfect for release.

Well I mean, sure, but some people are perfectionists and want their public work to be as good as they can make it before they release it. While I desperately want ELS V and won't play GTA V again without it, I can understand why Lt.Caine would want to get it completely right before releasing it. As long as it doesn't take, like, another year or something.

I remember one of the main issues was trying to fix was the fact that traffic does not respond to ELS. As far as the lighting goes, I would think that was buttoned down a while ago based on videos.

Based on most recent videos, it seems to me like traffic does respond to the ELS. I think the main thing they are fixing is the fact that AI cars don't seem to use the script properly: I assume that has more to do with the default cars using the extras as physical components.

Damn I really hope this comes out before the end of this month so I can play with it for a while, before the school year starts.

@Prophet Do the AI cars move out of the way when the lights are activated yet? Thanks for the video, looks awesome!

@gravelroadcop has already showcased this on one of his Demo videos.

Yes. ELS has it's own integrated Traffic Control System. The sirens will move cars directly ahead of you forward when the right conditions are met. Some driver will react differently to your siren tones, and air-horn intensity, so make sure you use all four available siren tone options. ELS will take control of the cars directly in front of you (with range of about 40m forward). This is very useful at intersections when all the lanes are taken up.

itl be nice to have something that will accurately represent the real life lights

Rest assured, ELS will have LAPD spec headlight flashers, hide-a-way system pattern and light bar patterns. Your LAPD models will go nicely with ELS :)

If I were you, I would try to keep my expectations non-existent. It'll only do more harm than good. Feels bad when the end of the month comes and you're like "maybe it's next month" then that month goes by, and you're filled with sadness as school begins.

It's looking great, proper environment lighting is something I've been missing for a while, I can't wait to see it more in V. It's also very nice to hear about the siren's having different effects on traffic, very awesome idea, and something that will increase the immersion insanely.

Great work to those working on it, can't wait to hear more about this project. Thanks for showcasing it for us.
