NeOnLaZeR reacted to rukrim in [CHARACTER][WIP] Enhanced EquipmentIf only it was that easy. Modeling new parts, UV-mapping again many components into a single texture, creating LODS, generating new bump and specmaps, achieving properly rigging, optimizing mesh to fit the game tolerance in terms of polygons...should i continue?
Sure, i will take that into consideration. Thanks.

NeOnLaZeR reacted to SeaHawk14 in Scuds' CA stuffI'm going to have to disagree with you there buddy, I didn't get to use TwistedScopes LAPD pack but I certainly don't think it was an extremely high quality version. I think it was a decent stop-gap until Scudo released his pack, but Scudo and Desmond are on another level of quality. What's more, in terms of starting date, that's not all that relevant. Desmonds Utility has taken 2 years, and so far no one has managed to hold a candle to it. It's simply the best vehicle on this site, no questions asked. It's taken Des two years (admittedly he's been working on various other projects) but I certainly simpathise with the fact it takes a while to create various vehicles to the same level of quality.
Yes it's true Scudo you don't have to release anything, but at the same time a lot of people have been following this and looking forward to their release. And the quality is sublime, I've had a look through your Cali images again, Jesus Christ your cars look amazing. I'm not sure what to say about motivation, other than the fact that at least if you finish it you'll have the sense of accomplishment of having completed the best vehicle pack on the site. What'd be a real shame would be for you to have put in all this time and effort so far, to produce no result whatsoever, because that would have been a waste of your own time and skill. You can always palm it off to someone you feel can finish it as well, that you trust and that has the level of ability that you've so clearly demonstrated.
You're human, and motivation comes and goes, we all understand that. It's difficult to have the same level of continuity and motivation over the period of a year, especially considering the difficulties that you've faced Scudo with the death of a family member.

NeOnLaZeR reacted to SeaHawk14 in Scuds' CA stuffNo, not a matter of a shitty opinion. I agree with you on some things, but this isn’t a place to be having spats with other people. I personally just want Scuderio to release the amazing pack that he’s taken the effort to create. Our effort ought to be orientated towards motivating Scuderio, That’s all. No point in deviating the direction of this topic to personal arguments. Capeesh?

NeOnLaZeR reacted to SeaHawk14 in Scuds' CA stuffOh ffs... guys give this argument sh*t a rest.
We’ve all got a common interest here, let’s not go into 2018 with arguments and wanky opinions.

NeOnLaZeR reacted to steinberg4145 in Scuds' CA stuffThe thing is that quality cars take quite some time to make. Generally speaking, it involves making and texturing your own parts, levels of details (LODs), and fixing random bugs and mistakes. Unlike 99.5% of "vehicle modelers" out there who just slap crap on a car, call it a day, and release a pack of 10 cars every few months, while the few people who make decent cars take months or years on a single car to make it just right, an example being Desmond who has been working on his fpiu for over 2 years. On another note, the fact most people try to slam out as many vehicle releases as possible leads to people acting like motive because it gives people almost instant gratification for new things, and when they're told to wait a bit it makes them cynical.

NeOnLaZeR reacted to SeaHawk14 in Scuds' CA stuffI can certainly see both sides of the story here. I agree with Scudo, there's a distinct lack of high quality LAPD vehicles in GTA V, which quite frankly is retarded considering it should be the first department created. And it's worth noting (because I've noticed when doing my own research) that the LAPD has a CLUSTERF*CK of vehicles, all with different equipment and set-ups. So to create an accurate pack of multiple vehicles with equally accurate interiors certainly does take time. It's easy to make an 'LAPD Pack', the hard bit is making an LAPD pack of high quality and high accuracy worth putting your name besides, and it's worth remembering that Desmonds FPUI has been an ongoing WIP for well over a year.
On the flipside, I can also understand motive007's point of view, the project has been ongoing for a while, and updates have been very sparce. The last significant update on the project was on the 15th of July to say that you were about to be done with the CVPI. No one is questioning the quality of the work [ and they certainly shouldn't] but with large scale projects having been announced in the past and people riding the hype-train only to realise that the project would not get completed, I do understand motives scepticism.
If you are set on matching Desmonds level of quality in vehicles, no one wishes to rush you, we'll wait patiently (lets face it, its been 2 years since GTA V 's been out...what's a few more months) however the occasional update, even if it's just in text form, certainly wouldn't go amiss. It'll keep people happy that progress is being made, and they're not banking on a project which won't amount to anything.
My two pennies of thought
