do you plan on releasing it? <3

Yes but I'm going to wait until tonight or tomorrow to see if the templated Stanier gets fixed first.

Yes I am one of those lucky enough to be approached to alpha test a CVPI. I had a long chat with them before doing so because I don't believe in people flaunting a mod that no one can have, it pisses me off when people do it and I would never want that for my subscriber base and community. I explained how model locking is a power ego trip and it ruins what the community is all about, they assured me they were on the same opinion about it so I agreed to show it in my video. I will NOT support the work of modders that decide to act like children with the notion they own the 3d model of a car they never took the hours to create. I get that zmodeler isn't for everyone and I just don't have the time to learn it all, that is why I am so grateful for the ones that do take that time and create beautiful mods for GTA. I also understand it takes a long time to convert models, I am not hating on that at all but the audacity to keep showing off mods without the intent of releasing until locking is available is just down right low and it shows their character.

I appreciate all of you that said kind things about my character, I always will put my ass on the line for something I believe in. Keep being awesome.

Thanks Jeff. You are a true hero to our community. Can't wait to see more of your videos with that CVPI :P

I can't comment on anyone else, but I do know of the CVPI model that Jeff, Buggs, and Polecat are testing. And that's just it...TESTING.

As Jeff wrote in the very comment above, he was approached to test and showcase the vehicle while its still in development. If you watch his video, there are still indeed issues with it. (By the way @JFavignano, did you get the recall notice for that rear door? :whistling:)

None of the vehicles are ever going to be released if they are not finished yet. Creating something, anything, whether its a script, texture, or a model, takes time. And each one has its own level of complexity. I would never release an update to one of my scripts if it was full of bugs. So would a modeler release a car that had a busted door, or blue emergency lights that flashed lime green? Of course not.

These guys are working on these things to make sure they perform correctly for the rest of us. There's no point in releasing an Alpha CVPI when its just going to go through walls when you drive it. And these guys give these cars to people like Jeff and Buggs to show us the progress of the vehicles, and to get feedback from a group of people on how well they work.

I don't condone some of the behavior that we are seeing out there...it's a little bit like being the only toddler in the sandbox with a toy dump truck. But, I digress. My point is, yes, there are some people out there who are not acting in the best interests of the community. But at the same time, disparaging the character of those who are showing us something that is coming out very soon (for all to have, I might add) is just uncalled for, in my opinion.

My $0.02.

EDIT: @Kilyin, I just re-read my post, and felt I needed to add that it was not targeted at you specifically. I've removed my quote of your post, as it was just meant as a general statement.

I unfortunately do not have enough free time to answer every PM that I get. For issues with my plugins, please post in the comments section of the file, or it's forum thread. You'll get a much quicker response from me there than if you send me a PM; I do my best to respond to every question in the comments sections. Thanks buddy, I wholeheartedly agree with what you said. I was distancing myself from model developers out there because I felt uncomfortable showing something to the public that wasn't released as I have always felt this way. I figured I would have a chat with the creators and see their opinion on modding before going ahead and showing the model on a video. I decided to do it because A. Other youtubers even in my gaming group were using the model in their videos and all I would have gotten would have been a flood of comments WHY I am not using it. B. I felt it was far enough along to show that it was an alpha and that people will benefit from the full version in the end. If I had a completed model perfectly ready for release I wouldn't have shown it at all, I can promise you that. I try to link every mod I use and I really love when people say how much they love a particular mod because THEY TOO can have it to enjoy.

Thanks Jeff. You are a true hero to our community. Can't wait to see more of your videos with that CVPI :P

Thanks man I appreciate that, I would love to see this community get back to reality and start enjoying the game again.

Cool, I definitely meant no disrespect to @JFavignano, I think he is a stand up guy and I appreciate his view on this and all the content he puts out. I guess my sack was just a tad chafed at all the peacocking that I was seeing.

I am under the assumption it will be released if other modders want to prevent that from happening screw them and their parts for the car, I won't use it.

No worries man, I have no doubts about your integrity. If it weren't for stumbling upon you and @FinKone's channel, I may have never found LSPDFR. I have to thank you for that alone. I am sure this will all come out in the wash, as they say. I didn't mean to blow this thread up into a shitstorm. Sometimes I vent and it gets out of control. ;)

Thank you Jeff, that is a clear and professional way to show your support, and solidarity for the community.  Much Kudos to you sir.

Ah this will all sort itself out, this community has a huge creative base to draw from and many dedicated  members. As time goes on the quality will improve and there will be more of a selection much like IV.

There are some awesome people here and guys... It's been 3 months! It's insane that GTA has been modded so well despite opposition and updates and that sort of thing! I thought we'd be seeing LSPDFR mods like creeping through next year! To see that we all have cars, tazers, a backup system and more this soon is awesome!

I'm gonna take this opportunity to thank Jeff , Buggs and others as well since I don't post much and I appreciate the content and attitude of the videos.

You are very welcome, I don't ever want to come across like I am better than anyone else. I am just a person like you that enjoys the same hobby.

Thank you so much for the support man, we have such a niche community and it is nice for us to get some positive recognition!

I have mixed thoughts on the subject.
I do strongly think that we, as modders or as simply "consumers" of these mods, should respect the work done by someone.
I also understand why it would piss such creator to see his model re-released (modified or not) by someone else without being asked before.
Then comes the legal stuff. I'm pretty sure none of us can claim a true ownership of these models.
The look, the name and all of this stuff related to these vehicles is owned by those brands, even if you create it yourself.
To them, that would be the same as if you'd make an exact replica in your garage of a Ford Crown for instance: it would be a counterfeit.
Then again, these models are obviously not sold, but what legal right do you have to lock these models? (even technically to make and use them).
I hope these talented modders will release their models, I hope no one will try to rip em off, but please, let's find the middle ground or something.

The same guy from GTAForums.

I do believe there is a sense of over protection amongst modders. I understand they don't want people to steal their stuff but this is not the best approach

Its like opening a shop only not to let people in because they fear of thieves.

Modders should just release their stuff, theres only two big mod sites for gta v with respectable admins, it shouldn't be hard to stop people from stealing their stuff, and besides if your a credited author then most people know who to gravitate onto if they want their mods. So i doubt they would lose downloads (i didn't want to use clients because that sounds strange)

Thats my two cents on the matter

Someone made a 2015 Dodge Charger for GTA5 and it looks VERY good.

I hope someone release a car like that.

Yeah I love that car. Apparently he's working on a police version.
