The latest updated version of RAGE Plugin Hook, required to play LSPDFR, can be found inside the LSPDFR download. It is not currently available on the RAGE Plugin Hook website.

Does LSPDFR HAVE to keep up with GTA 5 updates?

Featured Replies

What I mean is why update ragehook and lspdfr to work with the latest versions of GTA when Rockstar is constantly making it harder and harder for mods to work?

Wouldn't it make more sense to stick to one version of GTA and develop on that? And that way the people who want to play LSPDFR can either have a separate version of GTA for their LSPDFR or they can block GTA from updating. Because I'm pretty sure almost everyone here would be ok with not playing GTA online if they had to choose between that and LSPDFR/mods

We'll as reasonable as it sounds consider the following:

- Theres alot of people (including myself) who like to play online and not have two 60ish gigabyte copies of the game on their SSD.

- If someone discovers LSPDFR at a later point and decides that he wants to play it, he's gonna have to downgrade. Which won't be easy at all and might put him off.

- We won't benefit from additional cars, guns and other content added by R* later. (I haven't given up my Police DLC yet!)

I think soon we will need to abandon further updates gta. Rockstar is struggling with cheaters and scripthook scripts.

Rockstar Games did make the following statement, regarding the recent updates, that affect mods:

Recent updates to GTAV PC had an unintended effect of making unplayable certain single player modifications. This was not intentional, no one has been banned for using single player modifications, and you should not worry about being banned or being relegated to the cheater pool just for using single player PC mods. Our primary focus is on protecting GTA Online against modifications that could give players an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing. It also bears mentioning that because game mods are by definition unauthorized, they may be broken by technical updates, cause instability, or affect your game in other unforeseen ways.

This isn't news. This statement is older than LSPDFR. However protecting GTA Online breaks Singleplayer mods too. R* just fails at implementing something that actually works against online cheaters and doesnt destroy SP modifcations.

Correct. They need to develop a better strategy.

Separate the executables. Anyone who hooks onto the MP executable get's banned. End of story.

Simple. Can't be too hard for R*. But they won't do it because it would be work for them. Looks like they think their new strategy worked. Well, it did, but only against people who make enjoyable mods. These mods to cheat with still work great in Online, so... Well done, Rockstar!

That is the simplest sounding thing I can think of and they should do it. The only issue is that it would make it impossible to switch to Online straight from Singleplayer, which would probably make that a no go...

Seems a fair trade IMO
